    So much of what you talked about here, like the emotional distance, self-reliance at the expense of community, and control, is the definition of toxic masculinity.

    Truth. I have a memory early in my life of sitting in the car with my mother - feeling mad, feeling it boil up - and my mother said “no no no, don’t get mad”
    I remember it hurt physically.
    It got to a point where, I couldn’t hold my wife.. it was uncomfortable.
    I spent first part of 2024, just releasing emotion.. crying.. laughing.. all at once (at 37)
    Thanks to LCBC, having attended my first service after 18 years this past Christmas, I’ve been able to turn my life around, be a better father and husband.
