There's a reason several weddings do open bar. it's a major celebration so people do just that, celebrate. Getting drunk isn't my thing but there are certain events you expect and accept it

@@AllisonPendy Imo its a little bit of both, all these streamers even though i like a lot of their content try and force/skirt the lines of being very pc because of being scared to lose sponsors or to be "cancelled" which i can understand in the big picture for their brand and livelihood but as someone on the other side i feel like i miss out on some great content they can provide but are unwillingly too.
@@lilguaro makes sense when you look at how some of their audiences respond to the most mundane things and make issues on and off twitch, especially on Twitter. Like that Rae "No cap" situation was one of the weirder things I saw pop up recently and it was such a minor/non issue.
So alcohol may be socially accepted but drinking heavily is an altered state of consciousness and therefore is kinda serious. Like I love to drink Whiskey all kinds. Irish, Scotch, Bourbon. Everything from super Smokey Islay’s like Ardbeg to absolutely beautiful and buttery floral Bourbons. I drink it neat in Glencairns made specifically for it. But I don’t ever get drunk. I drink for the taste and flavor experience. Drunk is a different kind of drinking and celebration. Drunk is when you can make decisions if left to your own devices that have massive consequences. I don’t think taking it seriously and not really glorifying it is weird. Personally I think it’s giving it the seriousness it deserves while also not doing what say my parents did and making it seem shameful thus driving me to want to try it when I was younger because of curiosity. You relationship and experience might not be similar but they aren’t just looking out for you…you clearly don’t need it is my guess which is why it comes off as strange to you.
