You should never be daunted by a project again. This turned out great. When doing edges like that corner, wrap sandpaper around a long skinny piece of wood to sand those small steps in, if that makes sense 😊 The butterfly was beautiful 👍
That took a lot of hard work & patience ...no doubt softened by Mr 🦋 & super cute doggo 🤗 & a nice glass of wine 😃. Well done , it turned out really nice 👍
Gorgeous! Wonderful solutions. I have seen furniture flippers in Facebook videos do silicone molds just using a glue gun, they clean the area on the undamaged corner, of course, and peel it off once it's solidified. Sorry I can't remember which because I watch so many. If it's a huge section of corner, the put screws or nails into the place where the new corner will go, to act as a core or connector for the wood filler to hang onto, to strengthen it when it's dry.
Some ppl use glue gun/glue stick to make a mold then peal it and fill in with the wood filler and tape with tension to keep in place. I’ve also seen others tape a paint stirrer (I live in USA)-not sure of products there-and they tape around and fill with bondo or hard wood filler.
FYI : Kasha’s most recent video shares how to take a mould of a good part of a piece and create a perfect replacement part for a flawless repair. Love your color choice and your vision to leave the center open. Great job
Absolutely lovely!!! I think you did an exceptional job on fixing the corner.. it was pretty bad and now if one didn’t know it was there in the first place you might not even notice it at all… ☺️ thank you for sharing your beautiful cabinet with us😍😍😍😍😍
Great job! I've seen people take a profile they make out of a piece of cardboard or foam core or whatever of the profile of a piece of wood like trim piece or profile of the slab and use that as their guide to smoothing out puttied areas that they want to try and recreate into the same curvature.
The veneer was so nicely matched on this piece. Love what you did with the doors. I would have used denatured alcohol and outdoor bleach to freshen it up without losing that veneer.
Thanks for watching! Yeah unfortunately with the amount of repairs and filler it needed I think it would've been difficult to leave as veneer, but good advice on the alcohol and bleach!
Turned out great ❤️💜❤️ I am interested in seeing what you did with the door trays. I thrifted a beautiful Lane side table for $6, it was missing a corner. It was so long ago I don't recall which type of wood fill product I used but somehow I sculpted a new corner and hand sanded it. It's solid wood but was so dark that the carved details and floral drawer pull were lost. I painted it antique white to match my bedroom and tried a faux tortoise shell paint finish on the top inset. It's been my oversized night table for 20+ years so I will probably try a new finish when I move.
@@hollysdesign It's super easy. A few colors dabbed on, half black and water over that, then drops of alcohol to spread the black glaze. It's really pretty 🦋
To make your life easier, buy a different wood filler, I started off with this one and it’s veeeery bad, it seems kinda ok, before you try a better one, but it really isn’t. One of my favourites is Helmi. Great for furniture and is not grainy like this one 👍

Hey, I hope you are doing great. I'm reaching out from Jukin Media. I just wanted to follow up on the video that we want to share on our brand Family Handyman! Please feel free to ask us any questions /concerns you may have. We await your response.

Hi, not sure you will see this but is all ok, not seen a video in a while…… hope that means you’re busy and not rebuilding after storms, hope to see you soon
Thank you so much! I've actually been so consumed with planning our wedding (happening next weekend!) and dealing with selling our current house and buying another one, so I put the videos on hold for a short while. I'll be back soon with lots more flips, and hopefully in a new location if all goes to plan!

Nice Job!! 👍🏼. Did you keep it?
Thank you! I didn't actually, too big for my house really. I sold it to a really nice lady who has it in her spare room. Looks beautiful!
Fabulous job. I would have added a little decor wax to the details to make them stand out a bit.
Thanks! Good idea, maybe next time. Thanks for watching!
I saw a video where they used hot glue gun to make a mild from the good corner and it looked good!
Great idea! I'll try that. Thanks so much!
