My first Ultimate served us well on a 18 month lap of Oz in 1998. I loved every thing about it, so much so that after selling it in order to run a business, we bought another Ultimate after selling the biz, to continue our travelling when time permitted. We spent more time off road than on road and covered most of the north west of WA, the Kimberly, Mitchell plateau, Gibb river road Bungle Bungles, Ayers rock, Tasmania, Cairns etc. Could not fault either camper, they were amazing then so I can only imagine how much better these latest ones are. Not the cheapest by any means but the best is never cheap.
We have the ultimate 360 2020 model we have just started out and beginning to understand the nuances of this camper. CONS 1. Parking on uneven ground is a huge challenge to level recommend to ad adjustable winding struts. 2. Raising the rear bar (over bed) is not for older people and is quite challenging. 3. Mattress is not comfortable too thin on a $75 k camper a top quality mattress should be a standard inclusion. 4. Kitchen table is clumsy and awkward to use. 5. Electronic controls are not user friendly with stepped scrolling menus. Sound system is not easy. 6. It takes us consistently 30 minutes to set up and take down not the 7 minutes purported . Perhaps younger campers would cope easier. PROS 1. Tow hitch great. 2. Light weight for towing. 3. External BBQ. 4 Kitchen is functional and well laid out. 5. King size bed nice roomy.
