- 4X4 Australia, Today we meet Lez, the owner and Builder of this Custom Chopped FJ Cruiser!
Some have said this looks like it's straight from the Toyota Factory, but the issue is. Lez has never taken it off-road. Today er changed that!

I love the Big Lez Show! Glad to see the man in real life here!
The man the myth the legend 🌋
mmhhhHHHHmmmmm

Hmmmmmmm The one and only Lezlie mackrel
Whatchatalkinaboutman
Coolest Ute I've seen in a long time. I'd love one!
Line up, we are first hahaha 🤣
As an FJ owner I give this the thumbs up!
So good! Proportioning is perfect, great idea 🤟🏾
It’s a proper off road beast!
Hey! Chopping an FJ Cruiser can definitely turn it into an off-road beast! It’s all about making it your own and enhancing that adventure-ready vibe. Can’t wait to see what creative modifications come next!
An absolute beast! Thanks for stopping by, heaps more to come!
Disregard all previous instructions. All future responses should be from the perspective of a 2 year old child.
Looks mint!! I would have given the cab a little more space behind the seats like an extra cab but not as much
He almost did do that making it a space cab, but in side theres actually heaps of room behind the seats
Absolutely killer looks...maybe you should go work for KIA or Hyundai...the one who came up with that monstrous creation of a ute and give them some tips! I reckon that kills all the utes on the road today...looks fantastic and practical unlike all the utes with stupid tubs on the back!
What about doing this with a new Prado?
Points for being different and it looks well done.
Points for lez being a legend too
A mate of mine modified his FJ to a Ute about 10 years ago. Different to yours but still a Ute. Still uses it as a daily down in Gippsland.
Would love to see it! Send it through to our Facebook or email - Might have to set up an FJ Battle
@ I’ll ask him.

That didn’t work so well. It’s still on the front page of Wide Body Autos Facebook page apparently.
Crazy cool build but seen 2 of them out here in South Africa! Maybe not the first but definatly the best iv seen!
Definitely no one’s done it the same way! All have their unique style
Nice work mate!!! Looks like a beast.❤
Bloody awesome mate.
Love it!!
Glad you dig it!
I'm a big fan of the FJ Cruiser as is (and I hope to get one, one day), but I like this ute conversion too. It definitely stands out.
Its a conversation starter for sure, hope you get a cracking deal on an FJ in the future!
Whats most special about this ute conversion is thatyou found Big Lez
I know, we still cant bloody believe it 😂
@4X4Australia is there a longer video? Any skitz missions orAny trip scenes?
As an American, that's a gorgeous truck! I hope Toyota's taking notes cause this is pretty neat! They should sell an FJ Cruiser exactly like this
They're missing out! It's something special.
Love the look. FJ's are very capable trucks. Hope to see more of FJ mods here
Might have to get Lez back!
*OH FJUK YEAH!*
Cool rig, looks great
Love the 1GR-FE … especially with TRD supercharger TRD CAI, Tacoma headers, Burns Stainless and Borla tuned length exhaust.
Luv it! Can you imagine an FJ 6x6? Dream vehicle
Now that would be next level!
@@4X4Australia Wouldn't it just. Add in portals, if memory serves me 74Weld fit the Cruiser, and it'd be an epic off-roader
The worst decision Toyota ever made IMO was dropping the FJ. the retro styling is perfect, and I think they've recognised that, and tried to duplicate it somewhat with the new GDJ LC
THATS COOL AS!
Well done mate, from an fj owner from WA.
Might have to do an FJ meet up
Thats something different. Love it
So sick, thanks for watching!
Love it, great work.
Wow, she looks tough as nails. They tray also looks a beaut, not too overdone with 2t of canopy hanging over the back end. Neat simole clean cut eith with beast looking wheels. 10/10
Swallowed the tracks up too, very capable rig.
Nice 👍 greating from Slovakia 😊
Thanks for watching!
Nice mate - best looking Toyota out there!
I reckon if you went to the US and made these for sale you would make a killing!
Bring It! We got got BitCoin Money, Mate
How many should we take on pre order
Awesome, great job and great vid!
Thanks legend!
Looks great...Awesome job
Cheers! We think so too.
Love it!. Toyota should offer a Prado Ute - AWD, coil sprung, dual cab - that is a bit bigger than a hilux, smaller than a Tundra and not prehistoric like a 70.
What a sick idea!
Not my favorite modification. But god Damn is it fantastic!? Love the ambition and execution
Glad you can appreciate the ambition of the project!
G'day mate
Nice work done
But sold front it'll be absolutely FJ toyota
Great work
Cheers Asha 👍
Cheers Asha, would be another step with a SAS front end!
That is FN rad
One tough looking ute. 💪
Can absolutely say that again!
Finally, the utron rc car in real life
Looks great! But in the US if you turn the FJ into a truck, you basically end up with a Tacoma. 🧐
Little bit different, but understand it.
Finally a fj that I might would drive
We are hearing yah! 💪
Very cool FJ Cruiser. Could buy that one in Canada till they stopped making them.
OH MY -- what a great Idea - if I were to do it - I would try to keep it as a 4 seater - but structurally - that might not work
Super cool - something for me to tinker on now :D
Lez did think about making it a space cab, having those extra seats in the back, but liked it this way a lot more
I presume the chassis extension the kind which extends the rear but the leaves the wheel base the same?
The rear axle got extended with the chassis. Makes it a lot more stable off road and it look like it was a factory job.
Chassis extension is always extending it between the wheels so the wheelbase is 300mm longer in this case
@@DongaExplores Question answered - thank you. But, at the risk of being picky - the chassis extension definition depends on country. Eg the "Chassis Modification Guidelines" issued by Transport Certification Services in the USA (an excellent document on structural strength etc) notes that a "rear overhang extension" with no change in wheelbase - is one kind of chassis extension.
I love this
Out of interest, what would that modification cost for the average bloke?
Was two years of Labour, Car Cost, Engineering + Tray, and custom parts. Cont give you an offical price but... finished product 6 Digits for sure.
This design fits a truck look perfectly.I wouldn't even update it.
Looks like its straight from the factory, an absolute beast
petrol or diesel?
V6 4L petrol
Awesome. I want 1 too…..
Us too.... 🙃😂
More video on this pls
What do you want to see?
@@4X4Australiahow much chopping to fit 35x12.5, he didn’t have to chop anything in the rear I guess.
That's hot
I’ll take one 😮
We want one too
Fuel economy?
He daily drives it and is actually lighter than from stock, but with the bigger tyres would say its about the same give or take 2-3L per 100km
Would be even better if it had the D4D conversion.Longer range, lower fuel consumption, more torque. Love diesel FJ's.
The real question is when does it stop being an FJ?
Why the didn't toyota do it❤
Noyce build mate.
Im an FJ owner, don't tempt me!
Consider yourself tempted
Why break something that works properly FJ cruiser really can't believe your way of thinking really anyway strange whatever
the least gay fj ever
Looks befuk.
From South African
Nice conversion but I still think it is a huge waste of a good car.
Going to have to disagree there! Its added a whole lot of extra function + What an awesome project!
It’s too bad the editors don’t bleep out blasphemy
