@Zach Perry typically its true. A lot of people like their 7s tuned lower because its sounds so good with the longer scale length as opposed to a shorter 6 string scale length.. I have my 7 tuned standard D but with the 7th string A tuned to a G. So technically drop G which is pretty crazy to me and sounds awesome.
@Mable's Fatal Fable he means compared to other things, definitely not that hard compared to sweep picking or other more difficult guitar techniques. It isn't that hard to learn how to do especially since not all the notes are picked
@Jonathan Rose I don't deny his solos are incredible but it's all a matter of taste. Maybe there's not 1000 better guitarists than David, but there's over a 1000 guitarists better than David for my taste.
Honestly what’s also cool about this list, is it would be in a different order for almost all guitar players. Like for me sweeping and alternate picking everything is way easier than tapping. It really just depends on what the player is more disciplined at practicing.
Pull-offs were very easy for me to learn. Legatos are also pretty much no trouble at all. I don't think I ever really had to practice either of these, and they're just my natural way of playing. Alt picking is also pretty natural, but doing so at a rapid pace is definitely not something I can do well. I just have awful syncing between my hands at a high enough BPM, and I'll have to start practicing that for real one day.
I wanted to ask something: I have been playing for 2 or 3 years or so, and i still can't do any of the fast shredding licks. I can play very fast with my right hand, and have reasonably good coordination between the two, but my left hand just falls behind. It's like my joints just refuse to obey orders. Is that normal, or should i change something up?
There’s nothing wrong with a solo being easy to play, most of my favorite solos are like three or four notes, in fact if that’s all you know that could be a good thing because you aren’t doing what a bunch of people do and just put a bunch of fancy stuff in their solos instead of writing something that sounds good. Although that’s definitely not a reason to not try new techniques, or to not use them in a solo if you want to.
How love how every level is using what the level before used showing that soloing is just mostly techniques you master and then incorporate to your soloing which makes it difficult.

Fr Fr. For me legato picking came right after hammer ons and pull offs. And alternate picking right after that. And I still can barely hybrid pick lol
