I have tried a lot of shelving through my carreer. Building your own is very tempting and all, but it usually is not a good idea. Self made shelving usually are made to some personal dimensions and it is hard to repurpose them. After some years something changes in workshop or in life and you don't need them anymore and it is kinda hard to find where to put them or sell em. Especially, when it is not disassemblable. There might be cases that you are not able to get them out of the building :) When buying shelving, look for the allowed weight parameter. This is kind of an indicator, how sturdy they could be. Of course, sellers usually overrate the weight baring capability, but to compare two shelving it does OK. Usually you might want a shelf with double or triple declared weight baring capability then you need. Ah yeah, the price is good indicator of flimsiness also. You cannot buy good things for stupid cheap unless you got lucky. And you don't get lucky often. Congrats on your "event", you two look like a matching couple. Don't let the day to day routine creep over and dull the life.
I wouldn't call those you have bought rubbish. They are not good for heavy stuff. But for light stuff they would be OK. Even in a workshop, they could hold paper towels, glove stock, office supplies etc.
You say that now, wait till the dad jokes and play on words start lol Appreciate you taking time out to produce your videos then share them for our entertainment and education, brilliant job Take care Geoff
Thanks Sara appreciate you 🤩🤩, it’s definitely improving and we are very lucky with the spot! I’m now trying to do some deck drawings for the river lol great minds I’m thinking glass of wine in the evening and morning coffee area! 🤩🤩
I got some sturdier shelves from Costco. They also had propper industrial units which I would have loved to buy but were a bit overkill for what I needed them for 😂
Nice updates to the holiday let. I never buy shelves anymore, same problem you are having. I find it cheaper to make them out of wood, that way I get the proper size. Good to see you got the tent dried out, much harder if you have to dance in your Wellies.
Haha I find it hard enough to dance without wellies on so I was pleased! Lol well quite a few votes to make the shelves myself now I feel a welding and joinery video coming!! Thanks so much Gary 🤩🤩🤩🐑
Loving the gas bbq idea like actually love ❤️ that’s gold! Saw a video where someone built one into a custom made counter think that would really suit our place 🤩🤩🤩 Thanks Bill appreciate you 🤩🤩
Hi Emily, you go steady on that trolley!!! you looked too excited at times lol yes the weather has not been nice, instructions what are they!!! looks like a nice holiday let , doing a good job
Now you're shelving! Great video, another fab insight into what you do! regarding the holiday let, I think you should offer farm tours for anyone booking more than one night 😂
Haha now we are shelving!! Thanks Chris appreciate you! Lol you might be on to something I actually said to Tom a while back we should get one of those trailers to go on the back of the tractor and I could take people round lol! It would be like a London bus tour on the left you will see Tom Lamb farming! Lol 😂
@@EmilyLamb90 haha that sounds epic! I once went to BeWILDerwood in Norwich and they had those trailers on Tractors! Nothing there as exciting as 'on your left you will see Tom Lamb' though!! You could even sell your famous sandwiches on the tour!! 🙂 can't wait for your next video, Emily 🐑
If you want good shelves then angle iron and a welder is the best option 👌🏼 you’re a busy bee 🐝 I always wing it rather than read instructions, especially with Lego 😂 some wood chip round those trees would look tidy 😅
Oo you are full of good ideas! I wasn’t sure whether to grass seed round the trees then I had a thought maybe I could plant some thing that bees like and if I do wood chip I could! think I will have a look at this! Very much like the idea of welding as I am very keen to be taught so Tom has some work ahead! Lol 🤩🤩🤩
Good evening Emily. How are you today .Try kramp for shelving. The holliday let looks lovely sight have to try it out. I'm looking forward to watching the next video
Thanks so much George! All good are you good today? Love your cow picture is it yours? Hopefully I’ll just keep improving the holiday let! excited about doing the outside work!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🐑
Thanks Paul! 🤩🤩🐑 without Jamie it wouldn’t have been a good day!!!! Can’t believe how good he was at decorating maybe he has missed his calling lol as for the stream Tom says so! 🤩🤩🐑
I got those shelves, the panels are like cardboard, awful! They also absorb moisture and go moldy. I replaced them with plywood. Rapid Racking or BigDug do good shelving, real robust.
I know everytime I put something down on them I feel like the whole lot is gonna go like domino’s lol that’s more votes for big dug and rapid racking thanks so much for the tips 🤩🤩🐑🐑🐑
Emily hunny 💓 don't be worried on school or exams and how you done or didn't u got good man husband n good 😉 farmer s wife n ur doin ur bit everyday hunny tom is lucky cunt lol plz ur easy on the eye to beautiful kind regards from South Ireland 🇮🇪 viewer love the hubby s channel to .ado

Congratulations Emily! Pity about the weather, but what else can you expect in England 🌧🤣? The weather here in regional Australia has been lovely -- mid 20s to low 30s and sunny ☀. Much the same forecast the next week . As a temporary measure, buy some sheets of thin plywood (~6mm), cut them into suitably sized sections, put them on the inside of the uprights and screw through the uprights into the ply. Use short screws with wide heads, obviously. They don't have to completely cover the shelves, half the height of each shelf is fine. As an added bonus, it will stop smaller items falling off the shelves (at least on 3 sides). I wouldn't know about assembling kit furniture -- I don't buy it. I just make what I want. It's more expensive, and usually stupidly over engineered, but it's simple, elegant and I know it works. Some things (like beds) I actually have cut lists, and jigs made up to hold the individual pieces together while I assemble them into sections (e.g. head, foot, base) for quicker installation on site.
Thanks for all your tips! I think steadying up the shelves might be a good idea! All sounds very good you making stuff maybe with some time and practice I might start making more! Hi over there in Aus! Big waves 👋 very jealous of the weather 🤩🤩🤩🐑🐑
@@EmilyLamb90 Have a go at making/building stuff. A simple bed frame is very easy to make -- you don't need fancy joinery to make something functional. I wonder if you'll be quite so jealous in a few months time when it's mid 30s to low 40s for days/weeks at a time 🤣.
That’s my wife
Love you xxx
How much you paying her to tidy up the work shop and put shelves up
No need to flex like that, not everyones so lucky with their life choices, you know :)

We had that shelving and work not the best for heavy items. Rain 🌧 as if we have not had enough. Cracking looking holiday let.
Thanks Stephen! Yeah those shelves are not good they were bowing with hardly anything on! Definitely going to improve on them! 🤩🤩🤩😂
Rapid racking, used their stuff at work. Solid and easy to assemble. We store patterns on it.
Thanks Dan! That’s two votes
For rapid racking I’ll take a look 🤩🤩🤩🐑
I got some sturdier shelves from Costco.
They also had propper industrial units which I would have loved to buy but were a bit overkill for what I needed them for 😂
Oh no don’t give me another reason to go back to Costco it nearly bankrupted us lol 😂 I’ll have to take a look 👀

Ahh thanks Philip! Very kind words! Funny it doesn’t feel organised until it all comes
