It’s nice to hear that you are both van people from your life before you posted about your narrowboat. You do you! Whatever makes you happy is important. Don’t worry what others may say. You two were so funny looking at that big, big van. You got so excited about it. Sweet little cat. You got your cat fix in. The shower looked awesome. Looking forward to seeing your adventures in Spain and Portugal. Cheers!
It’s your life do as you want! Enjoy your trip, Southern Spain is still warm, we are heading for the Mar Menor on Dec 3rd and the weather forecast is for 20+in the day, dropping to single figures overnight. We have spent a lot of winters there and there may be wet times but then it warms up again and we were eating Christmas dinner outside in 2019! X
Great news! Rambler is ideal because you've made it to suit your needs. A full size narrow boat is just a result of most old, old canal boats being that long to carry cargo. The actual living section was tiny and smaller than Rambler, so ....have fun!
I love your spirit and kindness. Although I know for myself I cant do the lifestyle you have, I really enjoy seeing it. MY needs are different than yours and that's not a problem. Variety is the spice of life and seeing other people live authentically is awesome.
You two are such lovely sweet young kids. I could watch your videos for hours. I think any choice you make is fabulous for your life goals. You’re such a delightful pair. Xxx
A Green Goddess. Many many years ago when I joined the Fire Service as a part time Fireman, we had a Green Goddess at our Fire Station, It was part of the AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service) which had been disbanded just before I joined. Our main pump was a Dennis, we also had a Landover and a trailer pump. Ahhh Fond Memories.
Always a great clip. It's your journey not ours. I truly enjoy riding along with you two. I look forward to seeing you again on your journey. Hope to see you soon. Cheers
My auntie owned a laundromat for like 15 years? And she had the most brutal routine, but she kept the shop in tip top shape. Every night when she closed, she washed out all of the machines and sanitized them. Swept, mopped, made sure all the change machines had change. Topped up the vending machines. Hearing about those abused washing machines made me think of her. I think she would have loved to have vanlife people popping in and using her shop.
Great video recognised that you went past the outskirts of Ashborne we stayed not far from there in our touring caravan a couple of years ago. Looking forward to seeing your next adventures in Cornwall
You always make things work for you, and that's what matters! That campsite looked lovely....and the wee cat made him or herself really at home with you!....I almost feel your van or Rambler might be ready for a furry friend...??( And that's no disrespect to Alan, as it just wasn't the place for her to be at her time of life. Enjoy your travels....here's to more pastries and interesting paths!😊
Google says the fire engine is a 1999 Pinzgauer Steyr Puch, 6 Wheel Drive. There's a whole world of East European retro wonderfulness - dunno how much has been bought over here by the traveller community ...actually it looks like it may have been made under licence ...in Guildford 🤔 I love cats too, I had a visiting black one on my lap earlier 😊 Going south sounds sensible.
❤ 😊❤😮 Thanks for sharing your wonderful new journey. Free Spirits are priceless. Keep your hearts above those who don't understand. Lots of ❤ from Arizona USA. ❤
I really enjoyed the video as always. It was nice to see all the different vans,/ lorry. Enjoy your time in Cornwall and I live in Cornwall a place called Falmouth. 😊😊
Thinking about the bigger vans means higher gas/diesel litres/km. One nomad from Alaska has an American ambulance (Chevrolet I believe) and only gets 5-6 miles/gallon, which is atrocious if one is doing long distance travelling. However, I can see the many advantages of an ambulance. Also, I think once you have customized Rambler, i.e., the bed space, it will suit very well, especially when the weather is warmer and you spend more time outside. Happy trails!🥰✝️🇨🇦
Good for you both. You’ve made a good decision. Do the things you want to do while you can. And yes, cats are in charge. That’s what my cat, Izzy, is always trying to tell me 😆.
Thanks for the video guys, another great one. May well look up basevan in the future, they seem excellent. We always use an inside launderette as they stipulate ‘no horse rugs’ looking forward to your winter adventures. Take care.
That cat was wonderful... the next best thing to actually having a pet cat is being visited by a cat that enjoys your company. That cat obviously knew a good thing when she saw it. You also forgot to mention Base Van has their own RUclips channel.
Well as you can guess I loved the bigger vehicles at base van. I've often wondered how one could fit out a green goddess. The police truck was ace.. but I'd want to carpet the walls... Get a bus!! Even a sprinter if there's no Varios. A vario if possible.. then you can run on veg oil when diesel dries up..... Looking forward to seeing you in Spain. Love, Yo'Papa. Xx
good news about your trip to Spain ,here in catalunya its currently 21 c and forecast to have springlike weather from tomorrow, crazy ,meanwhile its snowing on the dorset coast. all the best jon
I am so excited about Spain and Portugal! I want to visit one day and Portugal has been on my list since I saw an imagine of Poto. Can’t wait to see your adventures.
Bravery, Excitement and Adventure is a wonderful thing to enjoy in one’s life. Go for it. You didn’t sell the wrong boat, you were divinely guided towards a new mission. Have the best time. 🎉🎉
We've literally just got a camper and have booked the ferry to Santander next year. We were also debating whether to go to Portugal and what route to take! We'll be watching eagerly to see you both paving the way!
I think you have done the right thing keeping Rambler you use need to adapt the bed so it’s comfortable enough for the two of you . Enjoy your travels ! The other one was hard work and a big responsibility.
Unfurl your ELECTRIC lead before plugging it in. If it has any nicks in it, or somebody has driven over it on a site, there might be damage to the outer casing of the cable....You are toast!! You also NEED a 20amp breaker fitted in circuit close to the socket block.
I've loved you both since I fell down the rabbit hole and found you ❤❤ It was sooo funny Emily you calling that tank of a fire truck sweet 😂 Carry on being yourselves 🤗😘🤗😘
This is my second time I have watched your channel, I already subscribed! You two have a very interesting life. Do as you please, pay no attention to others.🙂
Great vlog guys. Bigger vans/trucks would be difficult to park. Some places have height restrictions. It will be great following your adventures in Portugal and/or Spain. Enjoy your adventure to Cornwall. Take care and stay safe 😊
I’m sure one day I’ll be visiting base van! It’s got such a cool collection there. How much please did you say you have to pay for your winter mooring for a rambler??
Hi guys , i`m a class C tipper driver and drive around in a 32 tonner all week. I just wanted to let you know (before you get tempted to get a larger truck) that it costs the company approx. £2 a mile to run a vehicle that size. Other things that work against you are you stand out like a sore thumb if you park up in residential roads and as you know people dont like it + access can be greatly restricted once you leave the main roads. I personally would keep Ronnie but would have an awny made to create more space in the warmer months/climate.
Two questions, Have you thought about a 'Land Rover' type, roof tent for the boat, making sleeping easier and what's that note on the steering wheel? Keep them coming. Go well.
It’s worth getting a European two pin adapter for your hookup lead as some Aires have two pin plugs. You’re in for treat, Portugal is stunning and it was 21c here today 😊 I’m at an amazing campsite called Markádia which is worth looking at if you’re in the area.
Does that mean for that price when you’re away it’s in a secure marina too, or just it’s a fixed mooring so you can have peace of mind that your allowed to keep it there and not have to move it every 2 weeks like usual.
Had just been looking at basevans before watching your video and was wondering if an ambulance might be a good vehicle to choose for conversion. You made a comment which makes me wonder if it is such a good idea. In hindsight would you have gone for an ambulance or would a panel van be better. By the way, if you want to see a really good channel where they converted the fire truck you saw check out true blue. Many thanks for another great video. I also did wonder if you sold the wrong boat!
Hello! We absolutely love our ambulance and very happy with it, so glad we didn't go with a panel van. The fact it is already insulated, has windows, skylight, heating and a load of storage meant the build was very easy and we were able to do it quickly too! Thanks, we've just checked True Blue out, very cool truck! 😊

Portugal and Spain for Christmas sounds amazing. Can't wait to see what you get up to. Christmas baked goods in every town on route! 👏🏻

The red truck is a Steyr Puch Pinzgauer.. Pretty well unstoppable off road.

Is camping as easy as it was?
I understood a lot of places say no campers now.??
Liked and dinged
Hi I wonder if you get time to watch Road to off grid, they brought an old horse van and have a renovation project ongoing.
Great vlog guys. Bigger vans/trucks would be difficult to park. Some places have height restrictions. It will be great following your adventures in Portugal and/or Spain. Enjoy your adventure to Cornwall.
Take care and stay safe 😊
Yes, its very true and we need to think about the parking aspect A LOT! heheh, thanks so much for watching! 🥰
Amazing good luck!X safe travels!
Thank you!!
Good on you. You do you
I’m sure one day I’ll be visiting base van! It’s got such a cool collection there.
How much please did you say you have to pay for your winter mooring for a rambler??
They have so many great vans there! I think its £250 for 4 months for the mooring! 😀
Love you guys
Road trip videos nice one guys 😊
I always enjoy. Next time
Again I take my comments back. This is so interesting.xx
By my calculations for your mooring $2.60 a day US. Not bad to have the freedom to travel. Enjoy looking forward to the trip.

"That's where the biscuits live..." priorities right there 😂
I can definitely see you in the bigger van 😊
😀
There is a couple on RUclips that I’m afraid I forget their channel but are converting the very same fire truck you just looked at.
Love the Steve Zissou beanie :)
Does that mean for that price when you’re away it’s in a secure marina too, or just it’s a fixed mooring so you can have peace of mind that your allowed to keep it there and not have to move it every 2 weeks like usual.
Yes, I think you have
You can get small rv washer and dryers

Emily’s looking brighter don’t you think?
Interesting that you have outdoor laundromats!
