A great, captivating session, thanks Eric and Gary! I will watch this a few times over. The deep insights put together here on 3 key aspects of Gary's Scan2BIM, GDL & Twinmotion worlflows are really valuable. This Scan2BIM discussion is were very much relevant and will surely help to soften the unknown for the increasing number of users starting to dive into this workflow. Gary's practical application of the power in GDL is impressive!! I remember his session on the "Masters of Archicad 2015" and I still revert to the content from time to time. Not enough though, because it takes dedicated time to break through that initial barrier and master GDL to the practical level Gary does. I share Gary's passionate use of Twinmotion and especially like his use of point clouds there.
On the Scan2BIM side, we have more experience with Matterport & Leica so it was very interesting to hear more about how the Faro scanners & scan data integrates with the Archicad environment & workflow. I've learnt from your session that the Faro compares with the Leica in terms of scan times, the raw scan data it produces and the processing workflow of that data. I can briefly clarify how the Matterport system & scan data compares:
    - Matterport produces smaller point cloud files with on average +/-13mm point to point distance (compared to +/-6mm from Leica, and I gather the Faro also).
    - We find Matterport's smaller point cloud not less accurate for our purpose of 80% of our As-Built of buildings & mines.
    - This allows for loading much larger scan scopes (total building size) into Archicad within that 4GB per .LCF file (using Recap & other software to reduce number of points from Leica & Faro scans is safe & acceptable within limits & purpose).
    - The higher accuracy of Leica & Faro scans would however give more suited data for plants with lots of MEP elements where LOD300/400 is required.
    - The 4K UHD Virtual Tour that comes as default with the Matterport point clouds is a game changer when you start modeling in the point cloud compared to not having it. For the As-Built modeling part, the Virtual Tour totally removes the need to actually go to site so you can have someone else do that for you, potentially enhancing your production.
You should definitely give Matterport scans a try if you get the chance Gary.
Thanks again you two for a great session and thanks Eric for your continued efforts to support the Archicad community.

Thank you for the feedback, some very interesting comments on Matterport, and I suspect it would be a suitable solution for us in most instances, if I had not purchased the Faro scanner I would definately be looking at it. Glad you enjoyed the session.

You are welcome @@garylawes6552 and yes the #Matterport do give us exactly what we need for +/-85% of the scopes. For the rest (large exterior areas and interior hanger / basement spaces & MEP), the Faro would in turn be required to correct & effective data capture. So a #Faro / #Leica / #Emesent definitely has it's undeniable place.
