    Good tips. I also pack gaffers tape/duct tape in case the bag gets a tear from baggage claim (this has happened the past few trips). This way, you can easily repair the bag during the trip. I also take a picture of the bag and contents in case the airline loses the bag (rare but could happen).

    Nice use of socks! I also use the space in the boots and bindings to protect things which can be crushed. My goggles fit nicelt inside my bindings. Other stuff like toiletries, gopros, go in bags into the boots. When I fly, I usually wrap the board tip and tails with homemade cardboard caps that slide on and off. It's amazing how much stuff can fit in a snowboard bag.

    I took a cheap rug from Walmart,cut a few rectangles the length of a board and I put those in between my boards in my bag. Works great and very protected and takes up zero space

    Honestly I always size up when it comes to a snowboard bag. It’s better to have more room than not enough.

      I like to a little extra length but not too much.

    I agree with a lot of this except the helmet. My helmet goes in my carry on cause I've seen them chuck bags at the airport and if your helmet hits while in transport it's not going to protect your head like it should. Helmet and goggles go in my backpack where I can make sure they're safe and sometimes if I'm low on space/weight I'll wear my big jacket on the flight.

    never thought of using socks between boards, super useful if you dont have a plastic cover for your board. I also like to put things inside the bindings, like a beacon for example that needs to be protected from weight

    Wah you are still losing spaces!!!... You can protect small things by putting them in your boots and i'm also using spaces in the bindings to store gloves, buff and even extra goggles! XD

    I've heard it's better to do carry-on with boots because the airline could lose the board bag. If that happens, you still have your comfortable boots and can rent a board.

    Class video could I ask a question? I’m about to buy a new roller bag and wondered is it worth going for the biggest bag possible to fit as much gear in or does buying a bag too big for your boards have a negative impact? I ride similar sizes boards to you should I buy a 165 or go for it and get a 175 to fit more in? I’ll be using the bag frequently to visit family who live in France and thought I could get away with never booking suitcase luggage if I could squeeze everything in the snowboard bag! Cheers Maximus

    • @SnowboardProCamp
      @SnowboardProCamp  Год назад +1

      The 175 will droop too much and drag because your boards won’t be long enough. The 165 is a much better fit and will roll better.

    Great video thanks to you and your wiener dog ! I never travelled with my snowboard but will have to soon, was thinking about squeezing as many items as possible, I was thinking about my rollerblades. my question from there is the following: when you're at the airport do they open your bag to verify that the content is only "ski/snowboard" related? And do they check the limit weight (50 lbs or 23 kg)? If anybody can answer this that would be sweet thanks guys 🙂
