The obsession of ownership in the UK has anyone and everyone saying everything is private everything. Even if there are 1000s of people walking through someone will pipe up with “it’s private land”. If private land then it is normally fenced or marked to prevent people coming onto it and is not maintained by council if indeed private land. If someone owns the land then no authority can paint lines, place objects or build on it. If that road is private you could have asked “why are there double yellow lines on this road then?” Cos I don’t paint double yellows or single reds on my driveway leading to my mansion. The council don’t tarmac my driveway either.
Just because some place is private land doesn't mean that the public aren't allowed on it. The pavement on your local roads are privately owned - by the council. Yet the public use them every day. Yes, there are laws that allow the public more use of private land that is pavement than private land that is just a path to someone's front door. But that doesn't stop it being private land. Over 90% of the UK is privately owned with very little actually being common land. An example of the complications about private land. Unadopted roads are owned by the local householders. A section 38 of the Highways Act 1980 can be used by the council to adopt a road and maintain it instead of the local householders. But it doesn't stop the road being privately owned. Nor does it mean that the public have a right to use the private road - unless it's a through road or does not have any markings indicating its private. So the simplest way to decide if land can be used by the public is signage and barriers and fences. The lack of all of them means that the public can use the land. It might be the case that no one does because it's not a route to somewhere, but that doesn't stop it being accessible. The lack of signage etc means that the landowner is very limited in what they can do in removing specific people. Typically they are limited to just criminal acts and they would call the police for that. Anything else done by the public is best ignored. Unless the landowner wants to look like fools for imposing rules such as shoes must be worn, no tank tops, no hoodies, etc. which penalise specific sections of the public.

You can almost sense the anxiety once they realise what it is you're doing. As usual, they think it's all about them, personally, and react as such, when it's more about the facility itself and how patently obvious how unused/superfluous it actually is. And, as expected, it's the same, old excuses as to why they think you shouldn't be doing something that's perfectly lawful. They're almost embarrassed by the fact that they spend most of their time sat around, bored to tears doing nothing, with the only sweetener being they're getting paid well for doing so. The same old response, as well. Wasting the police's time by calling them on someone who's not breaking the law. I think the police by now should be familiar with what's going on and probably ask if it's someone fitting your description and that, it's a waste of time attending as there's no actual laws being broken. A shame there's no, 'feelings police', they can call, who arrive to console these people by patting the back of their hands and telling them everything's going to be alright, and patronise them by saying, 'awww..... did the nasty man point a camera at you? There, there...'
When a private property is opened up to be used publicly (such as for Covid testing/vaccination), then it is OPEN to the public ... not just to certain members of the public, but to ALL members of the public. With respect: you guys need to prepare properly before you go out on audits.
A night club does not belong to the public. Should the owners make it available for (for example) Covid testing/vaccinations, then the owners forfeit the right to enforce THEIR rules at the venue. Then civil rights laws apply, making the venue accessible to ALL members of the public, whether they have cameras, wear red jockstraps or wear their watches on the "wrong" arm.
@@wouterswanepoel5753 if a nightclub opens it to the public by being a nightclub they may remove you from their premises by reasonable force provided it’s not unlawful discrimination. @@g4obb Sort of mate. Publicly accessible does not equal right to remain. If, as has been suggested, the land is owned by the sh-sh-showground then the landowner (or their 'agents') may request someone who has no lawful right to remain there to leave. They may use reasonable force to do so. Obviously nothing to do with the police, unless an assault takes place (by either party), or aggravated trespass has occurred (damage to property by alleged trespasser). If the land is a public right of way then different rules apply wherein you have the right to pass, and perhaps stop for reasonable reasons (to rest or take in the view). Stopping to take a video may be considered unreasonable, but that would be for a court to decide, not someone armed with a high-vis vest and clipboard, or a police officer. Edit: HM Land Registry map seems to suggest that the roadway they were on is indeed owned by "East of England Showground".
AB, you should have also gone to the other side of the show ground, that is also open on some days with no one on the gate. Entrance in in Orton Southgate
As always AB, the yellow lines give it away, The Highways department are not gonna paint lines on someone's private property now are they. These wanna be Milk Monitors are all the same, Hi-Viz and a radio and the think they are God.
Who mows the grass between the kerb edgings and the fence? My guess the council which would then suggest it's public land. Same public funded body responsible for the yellow road markings and upkeep of the access road.
Yellow lines are irrelevant. If I own a private road there is nothing preventing me from painting double yellow lines. They could not be enforced as parking restrictions but could be used to dissuade people parking.
Same reason there is tarmac on the road. The Showground paid for a contractor to put it there. Yellow lines don't mean a thing. Think about it.... Supermarket car parks eh????

It's actually scary how thick some people are give them a walkie talkie and they think there in the FBI wow
Congratulations AB you managed to find the one test site in Britain 🇬🇧 with 2 English people working at it 👍 👏 😉
Always makes me laugh when they awkwardly record back 😂😂
lmfao jobsworths. The lady is the worst thinks she owns the place "i'll send that to the police" 🤣🤣🤣
Usual response, call the filth. Trespass is a civil matter not criminal.
When will they learn. Tut-tut.
Hi from Australia, AB I'm loving your channel! You always stay calm while these cop's hassle you. Great job
Good morning❤️
very busy which is unusual - lots of people happy to take part in an experiment that doest stop you getting or passing it on
Reduces severity of symptoms as well as chance of transmission.
@@jamessmith99731 hmmm yeah right prefer to take my chances with the official figure that I have a 97% survival rate anyway! I more worried about getting cancer as I have a higher risk of getting that & it is getting ignored. Have you heard of the NHS yellow card system? Hmmm yeah check that out & then get back to me x
“Why do you want to film?”
“Because that’s what I do”
“Would you not do it today please?”
😂😂😂
Meaningless all of it what a waste
The double yellows confirm it's publicly accessible and maintained as such. You could have stood your ground tbh
👍
I'm from Peterborough, one of my old work colleagues took early voluntary redundancy and got a job at the showground.
Gutted I didn't see him he would've been hysterical 🤣
Do more in P'town A.B there's some funny old sorts about for content value 👌
Shows the auditor can be defeated if you are a NPC. They were so boring and it was such a low level conversation even AJ got bored. They defeated the auditor through sheer monotonous speech and lack of enthusiasm to engage.
There, there...'
ha ha ha - love this comment :-)
There IS an actual law being broken.
@@aireboat7988 yes, These three mugs broke the Intelligence Law, they don’t have any and by all accounts neither do you.
When a private property is opened up to be used publicly (such as for Covid testing/vaccination), then it is OPEN to the public ... not just to certain members of the public, but to ALL members of the public. With respect: you guys need to prepare properly before you go out on audits.
A nightclub is open to the public but the bouncers still kick you out.
You have the right to remove people from your grounds using reasonable force.
Having a camera isn’t a PROTECTED CHARACTERISTIC so they CAN kick you out for filming or wearing the wrong trousers.
It’s the English law QUID PRO QUO for trespassing not being illegal.
You still have to abide by their rules though.
@@mstevens113 Which cannot override your standard civil rights including filming, in public, whatever your eyes can see.
He was very polite though... And said goodbye and take care amicably... He maintained a smile etc. I think overall he didn't do too badly here
Why are so many people still worrying about taking a test to make sure it;s the Rona, if you get flu like symptoms just stay home till your better
Wow!!! These things are still open???? I mean what the hell! So much dirty money involved.
Yep and the govements got plans for even more to open its just one big cesspit of back handers contracts and no doubt sage and high rank pubic office with minster after minister who have investments raking it in
Just like dover port and those hotels for illegal holiday people 😕

Unfortunately, this time secca is correct. It is showground property from where Joseph Odam Way leaves Oundle Road at the roundabout.
Who painted the double yellow lines? Who fines you for parking on double yellow lines?
frankly, my dear, I don't give a joseph odam
@@binboy4034 showground. Just like Tesco can paint lines on their land.
@@IN_THIS_DAY_AND_AGE I've never seen double yellow lines in tesco or asda or any other super market carparks.
do private roads have double yellow lines on them?
Thank you for visiting Peterborough. Wish I would’ve saw you would have bought you a cuppa
So if it’s shhhhhhow ground property where does the fine go for the double yellow lines. Them or council.
That guy needs the extra land to park his ears.

Ab: “WHAT??”
AB, you should have also gone to the other side of the show ground, that is also open on some days with no one on the gate.
Entrance in in Orton Southgate
First, another Amazing video. VIVA AB
good grief there are an awful lot of sheep in peterborough, these places are usually deathly quiet
As always AB, the yellow lines give it away, The Highways department are not gonna paint lines on someone's private property now are they. These wanna be Milk Monitors are all the same, Hi-Viz and a radio and the think they are God.
Milk monitors 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Would you ever consider coming over to Belfast for an Audit?
You should have asked them who paid for the yellow lines to be put there. And who owns it is think it is council land owned by the tax payer
Who mows the grass between the kerb edgings and the fence? My guess the council which would then suggest it's public land. Same public funded body responsible for the yellow road markings and upkeep of the access road.
Yellow lines mean nothing 😂
What about people going in with dash cams? 😂😂
If it's private land, why is there double yellow lines on the road????
Yellow lines are irrelevant. If I own a private road there is nothing preventing me from painting double yellow lines. They could not be enforced as parking restrictions but could be used to dissuade people parking.
@@HoratioChinn Fair Cop l suppose!!!!
Same reason there is tarmac on the road.
The Showground paid for a contractor to put it there.
