We wrote this song in the middle of winter when reminiscing about summertime and people from our past who slipped away. We all have people we tried to work things out with, but when somebody betrays your trust it’s a big turning point when you finally get to that stage where you can just tell them to fuck off. Somba wrote the hook in less than a minute, and Swank really felt like he related to the lyrics. With an ex-girlfriend in mind, he picked up where Somba left off. The goal for the song was to write a glow-up anthem people could sing along to at the top of their lungs.

Marlboro Hunnids Fantano has said time and time again that he values originality and authenticity a ton. He hates Lil Baby and Gunna bc they’re basically Young Thug clones. I personally think 99 Neighbors are pretty cool, but they’re also pretty clearly trying to mimic Brockhampton in their style and in a lot of their music, so I don’t think Fantano would care for them.

Marlboro Hunnids yeah i agree with most of that to an extent. i don’t think they’re Brockhampton clones or wannabes but there’s definitely serious BH influence that’s hard to overlook. I think most people see Gunna and Lil Baby as Young Thug clones and that’s definitely something Fantano has said too. I don’t think he’d hate 99N because I don’t think they’re on the same level as Gunna and Lil Baby, but I also don’t think it’d really be something that he likes either. prob 4/5 which isn’t bad and isn’t good for him
