It took me about 20 minutes to install it on my own. As long as you can lift it out the box and up into position you’re good. I did have to break the box to get it out as it was a snug fit. I followed the installation video on you tube which was a big help. I added this to support central air in my house that was struggling upstairs because of my house design. Lovely unit. Very quiet ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_hHgTlzH3uk31Fe2RVS3xEbXHGaN_z5T and looks sharp. Had it in a couple of weeks and so far so good. It’s cooling a bedroom about 25ft X 15 no problem at all.
Best explanation (video) on changing home air filters. I already know how to do this but I was just checking so that I could send a vid to a family member and found this one to be the best video with questions that most beginner would need to know (about which direction to insert filter, dating them, types, etc.) . Thank you!
Thank you, Dan. I’m going to switch mine around now. I installed them with the arrow down because I sometimes feel air flowing down/out from them. I’ll go flip them now. Thanks.
Thank you so much! I am happy to know I have been doing correctly the entire time. Your explanation was great with everything. Great tip about the MERV. I have a dog and that is great to know what is the best MERV to get. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the video. Very clear. I have two side by side filters on ceiling, furnace filter and (I believe) fresh air return (?). For the smaller fresh air return filter, should arrow point into home with wire side filter into home. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for all the information but you didn’t actually show me how to get it into the hole which is what I’m having trouble with but I’ll keep looking thank you so much for your help
It appears outside air is continually brought in by the HVAC unit, passes through the main HVAC and then it’s large, thick filter and then through the several registers around the house. There are two return vents, currently without filters. Do these return vents need their own filters?
Is it okay if my new filter didn't stay up without the guard? Like it would fall out if I didn't hold it up. I just tried my best to hold it up and close the vent door. That works too, right?
Yes that's normal. It depends on the filter brand. Some are lighter than others. I recently switched to reusable filters and those don't hold up without the guards because its heavier.
My system alerted me mine needs changed. A red light came on my heating system panel. Any idea if it's okay to put it off a few days or is it dangerous, and should be changed out ASAP?
Shouldn't be an issue if you wait a few days if you've been regularly changing the air filter. If its been years then you may want to check the filters. Clogged filters can cause your ac to over heat / work harder.
For some reason my filter is basically reversed. The side with the metal faces the ground even tho the arrow is pointing up just like this video. The part without the metal is facing upwards. Which is correct?

Thank you so much ! My husband usually does this but he’s on deployment and I was clueless on the types and numbers and everything 😅😩
Thank you and your husband for his service! 🇺🇸 your sacrifice for this country is greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

Glad it helped. Thanks for stopping by
Great video helped a lot I mean I’ve changed it before plenty of times but just to make sure you know the little things will get you
Thanks so much from this confused homeowner!

Thanks! I kept wondering if there should have been tabs or something to hold it in.
Thanks for the air flow direction information
Thank you so much ❤

Thank you for sharing your Vlog.
Thank- you.

Thankyou for information ❤
Perfect man thanks!
Thank you!!!!! Now I have proof that my husband is wrong and I am right 😂😂
haha!
Thanks!
Thank you homie
No worries my sista!!
So if my house has multiple changing filters already, I wouldn't need to crawl into the attic to change any filters on the AC units right? Thanks.
Correct, but I would just go up to double check. You never know sometimes..
Mine has a couple and also one on the main ac unit as well.

If you don't see a slot for filters, then they don't need one. The builders either have individual filters for each area or a centralized filter.
Damn, old filter was installed in July 2015. And you changed it on March 2020?
No. July 15, 2019 is what he said.

Replace every 6 months?? Your just asking for eventual expensive problems. Replace every 30-60 days especially because you have pets.

I have a air filter in my attic. So that’s the only filter I would have to change?
That's correct. You have a centralize air filter.
For some reason my filter is basically reversed. The side with the metal faces the ground even tho the arrow is pointing up just like this video. The part without the metal is facing upwards. Which is correct?
I wanted to see how you got the filter in but you skipped that part
Dose the size of thickness say on packaging you mentioned 8 and 11 being good numbers to use? Jw
Best place to purchase from Home Depot ? Also time I have to worry about having to change filters in home new to this
It doesn't state it on the actual packaging thats its a MERV11. But the website says it is.
Yo! Dan i see thx
