- The LS 1200d Pro is here - the ultimate daylight challenger that is capable of matching traditional studio fixtures in terms of brightness, along with dimming and remote control features. As the brightest Bowens modifiable fixture out in the market, the 1200d Pro is ready for big productions and small projects alike.
The LS 1200d Pro is the flagship Light Storm product and the brightest fixture in the Aputure and Light Storm lineup. It utilizes a 1200W Daylight COB chipset to compete on the same level as industry-standard HMI Lights, with a staggering 83,100+ lux output at 3 meters with the Hyper Reflector (Narrow).
The LS 1200d Pro is the first and only Bowens Mount LED on the market with a 1200W COB, making it the highest output LED fixture compatible with Bowens Mount modifiers like Aputure Light Dome soft boxes and Lanterns. the LS 1200d Pro can also be accompanied by Bowens Mount soft boxes made by manufacturers such as DoPchoice and Chimera Lighting.

Awesome! I love the Aputure lamps. They changed the game for me. However, I just got the 2nd unit of 300DmkII broken. It just stopped working (with no reason, that I know of). Hope you guys can work it out, just so the lamps will be more reliable.

how can it only be as bright as a 1600w joker but still draw 1440w ? is there only so little difference in efficiency between HMI and LED?
Yes
The 1200d has quite a few good practical advantages though.
A joker 1600 also draws more power than its name suggests. Similar to the 1200d, the 1600 refers to the power of only the light head. Once you factor in the ballast, a Joker 1600 probably pulls closer to 2000 watts. So you're looking at 1440 watts vs about 2000 watts (give or take). Led's are more efficient for sure! But probably not as much as people may have thought in the past! Their other benefits are really what makes them special. Cheers!
you phased out batteries and this light is pushing near conventional household circuits. I'm guessing after the 1200D it will be the 2400D. What will be your plan, since 2400W cannot be plugged into house sockets? Will the next lights only be used on generators?
Can be plugged into Uk sockets
My guess is they'll make the head pull 1800 watts to put the total power draw at around 2200 watts (just under the 20 amp limit for an American household circuit). This would make it brighter than an M18 and probably a bit brighter than a 2.5K HMI par. If they want to start going after 4K HMIs, they'll likely have to go to generator power.
Aputure 2400D or something as bright or brighter than the M90
