Biggest win of the light - it actually all fits back into the foam case!
🙌🙌🙌
Great video Tyler. These amaran lights are solid for anyone on a budget!
No doubt! Thanks for dropping by dude!
Just got my 300c yesterday (my first light) and I’m totally impressed with the power and how the Light Dome III softens the output. I’ll probably add a 150c as a fill.
congrats! that is an awesome setup. give the 200x s a look as well. it is so accurate
Great video Tyler! So much flexibility and creativity with lights like these.
Thanks Josh and totally agree!
Great video; thanks for sharing!
Tyler, in case no one has mentioned it yet, your talking head lighting setup is one of the best out there with Wandering DP, the quality and overall level ratio of lights are just awesome!
To be in the same sentence as the Wandering DP is crazy. This is the highest compliment I’ve ever received. Thank you. (If you made this comment in error, please don’t delete 😂)
@@TylerEdwards no bro. You are great.
Yes his image in this vid is almost too cinematic for a talking head vid. It’s so good
Thanks Tyler- I've been watching reviews of the 150C and 300C all morning, but your tip on the output of slow motion b roll at 180 degree shutter really clicked for me. Really dig your insights.
Thanks for the comment! Glad it was helpful
great video as always tyler.
Thank you!
Really considering this and 150 for ambient fill + an accent splash with the spotlight + a 2ft tube for an edge light
This whole line looks great!
That would be a solid kit
What would this whole kit cost ? What what light would you use for accent spash?
@@suhasrb2396 somewhere around $1000+
150c with spotlight
300c with reflector or lantern bouncing off wall for ambient
Could use the 2ft tube or 60x for accent / edge
I almost picked up the 300c immediately the it was announced, but I just bought the 200D s and 200x s literally the day before but it looks like a sick light!
I’m actually very interested in the 200X s. SSI scores are insane!
Yes! These new lights look amazing. I’m thinking about “downgrading” my kit since I’m doing less doc work.
I m really impressed with the 300c!
Thanks for the excellent, informative video! I need to finally upgrade from my cheap soft boxes to something with adjustable output and color temp, and after a bunch of research I had settled on the Godox VL150II. Do you think the Amaran would be a better choice? Having RGB available too would be nice but not strictly necessary. Going to have to look for the best way to soften the light for talking heads with way. I’d love some advice!
The other benefit of the Amaran is having green/magenta correction 👍
I have the Godox ZS150R and noticed the output reading if right are lower on the Amaran. On the Godox at 3200 I've measured it at 24,000 and 5600 at 30,000 Lx. this compared to the 300c of only 21,390 and 5600 of 26,580.
Remembering that the Godox is only a 150 watt unit compared to Amaran at 300 watts something seems to be amiss.
so many great lighting choices
Agreed!
Thanks for the recommendation! 👍 What about fan noise? How far away at minimum is it indiscernible?
Nothing to worry about
How does this compare to the 200x? Trying to decide between the two as my first light.
„Well I don’t script Videos here we are“ made my day 😂 I know that feeling maybe if I get out of topic next time In front of the camera I should drop that line as well 😅
Thanks Tyler great video as always.
Hahaha thanks Paule! Always a treat seeing you drop by 🙏
I got a 150c and 60x because I’m on a budget. Really happy so far :)
Solid setup!
Thank you
I bought this bad boy basically as soon as it was announced. Its been blowing my mind. Corporate, creative, music videos, whatever. Its been super solid and i couldnt be happier. I've been hiring a range of lights for a few years now, but this was my first lighting addition to my personal gear. Ive noticed people impressed with its RGB capabilities too, as it really filled a gap in the market in terms of price to performance. All in all, an epic product.
Ya it is amazing!
Would you go with this, Amaran 200x S, or a Nanlite FS-300B if you were trying to mimic natural light/sunlight as close as possible in a small studio setup? All would be used w/ a fresnel at some point, but my concern is the 200x S not having enough juice and the 300c having half the daylight brightness maximum (due to its RGB light chips) w/ a lantern attached.
200x s is the most accurate of the bunch.
what modifier where you using for the coloured accent slash?
spotlight mount with 26º lens
Great video! By the way, your amazon link points to B&H
Among the amaran line up if color is just optional, do you think 200x is better investment?
I personally think the 300C is a better invesment; not just for RGB capabilities, but g/m correction and the hardware improvements in the yoke and mount are great reasons to spring for the C over X. The only time i might recommend the 200X would be the S variant (200 X S) if you are doing color critical work and need to match as close to tungsten or daylight.
Selling my Nova P300c to buy 2 of these. The nova is way too heavy and awkward to mount for most day shoots.
We can use it with a v mount batterie ?
Not natively.
What Barn doors did you use?
Aputure
Does it have light effects like fire ??
Yes
What about batteries?
No native battery mount. You’d need an external power source like aputures solution
Sadly, it will be my tenth.
How are you
Hi friend
Say "Dial In" one more time

@@TylerEdwards 🤣😆
Just some friendly advice. Lighting up a wall from only a few ft. way isn't doing it for me.. You seem to be making the same mistake all the other reviewers make.... Do you mind putting in a bit more effort next time and taking the thing outside at night and lighting up the side of a house or a car from 30 ft. away so I can actually gauge how powerful it is in real world scenarios? Way too much footage of you talking to camera. If you were a super hot female I wouldn't be complaining, haha. But yeah, help a brother out and do more with these. You'd be my hero. No one else is doing it either so don't feel bad. lol
Dude, this is not as friendly as you said it would be. He did a good job showing off the light and he didn't ask for advice
No one is saying to use these outside 😅😅
why not? i'm not talking about lighting up an entire football field. lol@@lowlowseesee
Why don't put in a little effort and post yourself doing a talking head or lighting up a house at night? You seem to troll all these lighting vids with the same BS comment. Just some friendly advise.....
@@mr.frandy7692they are not weather resistant in any way. Heavy dust or any amount a water would be risky. On a clear day or night you should be fine though.
Thank you
