- The Magic shop on Main Street USA is the only shop that has not been changed since opening day. It has the original tile, lamps and wood. This shop is exactly how Walt designed.
Why is it so hard for magicians to work here? Who is the most famous magician to ever work here? How many hidden Mickeys are in the Magic shop?
Let’s find out.

Was there on 14th. Poked my head in the store hoping to see the secret room door open. When I mentioned it Henry looks at me innocently and said “ What secret room”?🤣
There’s a secret door?
next time I go to Disneyland I'm definitely checking this out! sidenote, I love Henry's voice 😂 he narrates his tricks so well!
Hi Chris- Just a slight correction for you. The location that you filmed this video at was NEVER Merlin's Magic Shop. It was once the Main Street Magic Shop prior to being run by Houdini's. Merlin's Magic Shop was in Fantasyland to the right just as you passed through Sleeping Beauty's Castle and entered Fantasyland. There used to be TWO Magic Shops at Disneyland.
My favorite was the foam that looked like a rock, most people took it for granite
Magic shop doesn't get enough love... when I was a kid I absolutely LOVED it.
You could say that that card is a Mickey Mouse Club.
OMG I AM USING THIS!!
@@provostparkpass omg yes! 😂
I want to visit the store again and check out all the original 1955 items. Such a cool fact!
I saw this right before heading to the parks and went to see all the secrets! I don't know that I've been in there before, but I love that store now.
Also, it'd be really fun to have a video of secret sounds in Disneyland! I was sitting by the lockers on Main Street and heard some snoring coming from the "hotel" above the shops.
The shelves behind Henry use to be filled with masks from late summer thru Halloween, I still have my werewolf mask I bought from there back in 1987 ..!
When I was a kid, my two favorite shops in all of Disneyland were The Magic Shop and the toy shop in Fantasyland ...
Thanks for the memories, Chris ...!
I grew up going to the Magic Shop on Main Street, often buying tricks as I was there. I even had one of their magicians invite me to join him at the Magic Castle in Hollywood as his guest (we had talked MANY times by this point), and that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I'll never forget.
I LOVE the Color Monte (as I know it) trick, and you performed it very well! I have that sitting on my desk right now.
Spirit Lights are also amazing (I wish I hadn't fallen so far from performing that I've forgotten some of these, but I lost my magic collection in a car crash a while back).
A few of my favorites, which I don't know whether Disneyland's magic shop still carries (it's been a while since I've been able to visit) are the Invisible Deck, CardToon Man, and mostly the Haunted Deck (I still have that one somewhere). Someone picks up to three cards, you hold the deck flat in your hand, and the deck cuts itself to their card(s). Oh, and you can't go wrong with a Hot Rod. One of the easiest tricks to learn to start getting into magic, but REALLY impressive if the audience doesn't know it. And can be handed out for inspection.
Many thanks to Kim, Kit, and Chris (he was the one who let me into the Magic Castle) for their patience in showing and selling me magic over the years (and Kim for telling me how to apply to be a cast member -- I really enjoyed my time as one), for years of entertainment and helping me fool friends back in the 1990s!
I may need to get that UFO card.
You killed it with this video! Thanks for all your hard work
Thank you. 💚💙
I hope they leave the shop just as it is. Thank You for sharing all the hidden icons and mysteries of Disneyland. Casper is amazing with his tricks WOW
This is my favorite store, Chris!! I have several of their card sets!
Another video that would make Walt (and the rest of us) proud, Chris. Great job. Truly. 💚💙💚
Magic store on the right as you walk through the castle
Love all the Houdini history❤ Hearing him speak just always gives me goosebumps for some reason.
When i go to Disneyland next year i'm definately going to visit this store...hope Henry the magician is still there!
My wife and I were at Disneyland three days ago and we went into the magic shop because I knew a few of the things talked about it, but after watching your video I realized I missed SO MUCH! I’m looking forward to our next trip to Disneyland and giving the magic shop a much more thorough walk through!!
I stopped in there when I was at Disneyland a few weeks ago just to find the hidden Mickey on the ceiling. I wish I had seen this video because I would have spent more time in there. Great video!
I used to buy a glow in the dark skull at Merlin's Magic Shop in Fantasyland every time I went. Eventually I had enough to fill a shopping bag so i gave all but one away. Still have it after all this time.
(In chris’ voice) WHAT?!?!? This is definitely now one of our all time favorite videos! Literally so cool!!! Great job, Chris!!!
That was a very entertaining, captivating, enjoyable, and fascinating Secrets Revealed video. I have never been to the Magic Shop until Jar and Kirstin took me there and a magician showed me a mind blowing magic trick.
I remember the big rubber villain masks they used to sell in there. My dad bought the Big Bad Wolf one. It was so cool
YESSSSS. No matter how many secrets revealed videos ive watched I will always rejoice when I see that notification 😅😅 love the magic shop! That’s so cool that it has all original fixtures!!
Fun video! Henry is amazing. Thanks for letting me be there for it!
Thanks for filming it, Jimmy! We appreciate you.
@@naomidaisy1165 You're very kind. Thank you!
I just bought the Harry Houdini Leg Irons THANKS to your awesome video! I usually skip this shop as I thought it was just cheap stuff for the kids. So glad you made this video!
Oh man I miss this magic shop. My first memory of Disneyland was my Dad taking me into this store in thee 1970s when I was a wee lad and he bought me some of that smoke you put on your fingers and rub them together until it looks like smoke. Good times! Thanks for this!
I LOVE the magic show! I have loved it since I was a kid back in the 1960s. Thanks for doing this video.
Love you guys! Deep dives are my favorite videos! Thank you
Chris, this video was so entertaining to watch! Even though I myself do not know any magic tricks, I love seeing other people perform them, because I am always blown and away and just utterly confounded by how people pull those tricks off. So this video was so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed it right until the end! Would love to see you do more videos like this! That Las Vegas trick you did with the three cards was both amazing and ridiculous. Love it!
Chris and Amanda, I just wanted to say thank you for always reminding me to persevere in life. I'm going through a rough patch with my anxiety but your videos give me a few moments of happiness each day 🤗 I hope I can meet you someday and thank you for what you've done for me
A minor clarification: Merlin’s Magic Shop was a different magic shop located in Fantasyland and was the shop at which Steve Martin worked. It was open on Disneyland’s opening day and closed in 1983.
Like Main Street Magic, the Tokyo Disneyland magic shop is not run by Disney but by Tenyo, a puzzle and magic trick manufacturer in Japan. The shop just sells Tenyo products including some Disneyland-themed tricks.
I miss the big one - it was much bigger in my memory anyway… Somewhere I have a good quality giant deck of cards I got there, a treasure.
I apparently haven’t been in this magic shop for over 15 years, I remember it being disappointing, this looks awesome!
“Knot true” classic! Very fun vlog, Chris! Thanks 🙏 PPP!!
The Magic Shop is one of my favorite must do's when visiting Disneyland! The magicians there are great! Thanks for sharing this Chris!
I have been doing magic since I was in high school and this video was so much fun to watch! I'm planning to go to Disneyland next year in September and the magic shop is going to be one of my first stops!
Vanishing Inc. recently took over ownership of the store and stocks quality magic products that are both modern tricks and classics. Fun fact; The card on ceiling effect was actually popularized by a magician named Eddie Fechter at the Forks Hotel in Buffalo, NY. The Forks is what most people say inspired the creation of the famous Magic Castle in LA.
Alakazam! What a magical experience!
Omg!! Smiling ear to ear during thie whole vlog!! Love this!! We are soooo spending time in here in when we visit. AND buying the 3 card monte! ❤️❤️
Every time I go to Disneyland I always go to the magic shop 🤩
This was SO much fun to watch!! Definitely stopping here with our boys on our next visit!
It's very cool how everything is original in that shop. You mentioned those Merlin's Magic wooden dragons & how they are still there. When you made that one pun, I think you mixed it up a bit. You said they're going around, they're not "dragon" around. However, they ARE "dragon" around, because they're still there. Whaaaaaaaat? Hahahaha! I still loved it! Fantastic!!
The history of 1955.
First I love PPP and Chris...but magic and that shop has been fun for me all my life. The magicians that work there love to perform..just ask..so fun Chris..thanks and you are amazing
I love the Magic shop, I go in to it from time to time and seen a few tricks, and I love that you guys are so kind to everyone that you meet including myself when I met you last summer thanks, you’ve got a friend in me😁
I've walked past this shop a millions times and haven't been inside it yet. I'm definitely going inside it next week ;)
Provost!!! Love the video my guy, missing Disney but I always love learning new things about it!
GREAT Vlog? We go in there but never knew all this info.. Thanks Chris. We now have a new appreciation for this shop.
Sooooooo magical! I definitely will check out this shop the next time I go to Disneyland!!!
I wandered in here on our last trip but it was early in the morning and the shop wasn't open yet. Will definitely make a stop in on our next trip!
Wow, this was awesome, thanks for showing us. My next trip I will definitely have to go in and use that phone. That is amazing.
Since the age of 5 my favorite shop in all of Disneyland. My dad would try to make it the last stop before leaving the park because I would want to stay in there all day if it was the first place I went. Great video! Thanks
Cool video! I never knew all these things about the magic shop. All the authentic Houdini stuff is really cool. I'll have to check it out next time I'm at Disneyland.
Love the magic shop. I can't wait to go back and check it out again. Thanks Chris.
By far my favorite video of all time. Love this one! Great job PPP team!
I am a fan of magic and even do a few tricks myself not as much as I used to as I don't really have time, but I will once in a great while when my family asks me to do so and I know for sure next time I am at the park I will stop in this magic shop and pick up a new trick to learn great video as always guys
Extraordinary episode! And such fun with the magic too.
That’s so cool I want the spirit light magic trick
Whoa. That's me in the background at 8:07
Love that magic shop. I totally forgot about iit!
Magicians are the best. I once saw a magician named Doc Cheat'um in Reno, Nv transfer drawings from two cards onto one. Still have the card too.
I always like when you end your videos with a positive message. Thank you for making such fun videos to watch and keep up the great work!
Love the Magic Shop! I bought a tailpipe whistle and shoved it up into my brother's tailpipe. The next day he went to High School and called home during lunch. (No cell phones then) He asked to put mom on the phone and I was "Something wrong?" He replied, "Just put mom on the phone...how did you know?" The only time I ever heard him swear he later told me I was lucky he did not take the engine apart trying to find the problem.
Thank you for more Disney Magic✨ We're no strangers to the shop, but we didn't know the history of it! We'll have to head back soon.
this made me so happy !! You did such a great job with this video !
I check out the Magic Shop at least once every Disneyland vacation. Once I got fake vomit (not there, a hometown store.). Put it on the living room rug before leaving the house. Found when those home were my dad who had just had a medical procedure & sister who normally would not touch the 10' pole used to touch the vomit with a 10' pole. And pets. Sister took half roll of paper towels to pick it up.
Absolutely love this vlog, a truly super special one!!❤️👏
Oh my gosh, thank you Chris , this is so cool. We wanted a secrets reveal of the magic shop. This was fantastic. You are awesome.
Pretty cool! Had no idea that it was there! Thanks for the vlog!!!!
Ohhhhh….. I loved this one!
So great!
Great video!!! I'm guilty of going right past. Going in the next time!
What a gem!! Thank you for this fun video!!
WHOA! My dad showed me the thumb trick when I was a little boy. Never thought I could pull it off. But I did over and over for more than 60 years. Although not always with the right results, like when thumbody figures it out before you get started. Oh well. You win thumb you lose thumb. AND I LOVED THE VIDEO!!!
Nothing like a dose of Provost Disney magic. Thanks for the great video
How cool! I can't wait to visit on my next disneyland visit!
Hello!! LOVING your channel so much! Thanks for the fun videos....!!
Wish there was a LOVE THIS button!
Awe GINA you are so kind. 💙💚
Love this video. I love magic. Thank you.
Super cool video… very magical!
How cool was the magician.
I love magic! More magic please!
Thank you for another wonderful video, so much fun.
Thank you for this Chris. I have really vivid memories of being a kid and this was the first place I would go to every time we went to Disney…
Always love getting your notifications
This video was one of your best, my entire family was so into learning about the history of the Disneyland Magic 🪄 Shop and seeing the magic tricks performed. My son is in grade 4 and it’s a bit of a challenge to find him creative activities to spark his interest sometimes.
We gifted him a magic set for Christmas and it was a huge hit. He even performed some tricks for his classmates at school.
We’re going to Disneyland this Winter and my son is even more excited now after watching your video to visit the magic shop and pickup some tricks.
I love this shop. My first time to Disney I was about 9 years old (1984) and my parents bought me a shrinking nickel magic trick. It was a hollow nickel with one side and a tiny little nickel that you would put under it. I could never do it right but I would never forget.
We LOVED watching this video! I have only been to Disneyland once, (2003 I believe), and I am sure I did not go in this store. I really wish I would have. Thank you for many fun, entertaining and informative videos.
Great video Chris!!!
I always watch these videos and think it'll be so cool the next time I'm in Disneyland to be able to tell everyone with me all these crazy facts. But then I never remember them.
So much fun!!!
Loved it my son was like omg
Incredible place! I had no idea.
Time for a mood-lift!
Love all the information
Your Secrets Revealed videos are my favorite ones. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Cool store !
Great video!
Henry is awesome 👏
Fantastic!
Great episode!
Love this video bye the way I love magic
Taking our ten-year-old to Disney to celebrate her birthday and plan on showing her the hidden Mickeys in the magic shop.
great video...especially being that I'm a retired magician. :)
