  • Little Gunpowder Falls is how Maryland does mountain bike flow! The fast single track will have you smiling from ear to ear. And if you need a little more spice there are plenty of trail side features throughout to keep you on your toes. In fact, I think this place will be ideal for riders of all skill levels. Check out the “Trail Details” below to learn more.
If you are interested in seeing more from this ride, check out the extended cut on Patreon. It tells a better story and includes a few more features and trails I left out of this version.

    Trail Detail:
I was fortunate to get a tour from my buddy Zané from @splooshmtb who showed me what this place was all about. The tight hard packed single track makes you feel like you are on a roller coaster and will push your limits depending on your comfort with speed. The trail side features ranged from difficult to intermediate giving folks a chance to progress their MTB skills.
    Route Suggestions:
I was pretty happy with the route Zané took me on, so I don’t have any route suggestions. However, if you were looking for a shorter ride you could easily chop off the first 3 miles. Also, if you parked at the lots off Bottom Rd that would give you a more central starting location and allow you to trim down the routes even further. Regardless I left my Strava and Trailforks down below so you can get an idea for mileage and elevation.

Yes Sage! You captured that ride extremely well. From the fun we had to the work we put in that was an amazing ride. I was audibly laughing at the overlook edit😂 can't wait for our next ride when you show me more of Mt Penn!

This is my local! You really captured some of the best stuff back there. I've been riding Gunpowder for years and still find hidden gems on the side of the trails regularly. Cool to see you gapping jumps I've been eyeing up for a while but not ready to send just quite yet. You should check out Susquehanna State Park next time your in the area. Some great single track back there.

True, this is not typically my riding preference, but it's also nice to change it up a bit from time to time. Plus Zane is so much fun to ride with. Thanks for watching Phil.
