+scaffoal thanks for your videos, i too was just watching for fun and I didn't have the guts to try fabricating and never thought I would be actually doing this, after your videos im now starting to design my own pieces and getting people wanting repairs as of last week.
I like how you work you plan as you go, almost like freehand. I see you almost don't have to plan by computer or even a compass. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Alberto, I once had a local jewelry store make a white gold setting to hold a piece of Tanzanite for a ring for my wife. The jeweler made a big thing about potential damage to the stone because the ring had to be heated to set the prongs, according to him. I have never seen you heat a prong to set a stone and I consider you the best craftsman I’ve seen. I have since purchased gold settings to make simple pendants and ear rings and have never had to heat a prong. Can you tell me why it might be required to heat a setting to set a stone? Kind regards, Anthony
Usually a stick is used, with pitch. It is heated with an alcohol lamp. The heat used is bearable by the majority of gems. By experience there are particularly delicate gems to which you have to pay attention. When working with customer gemstones, it is best to let them know any work-related risks. Kind regards, Alberto.
Como siempre Fantástico!, una pregunta. Le das a a tus piezas de oro blanco una terminación de rodio o utilizas una aleación que no necesita rodiar?.Gracias
+Angel Muniz Thank you, we do not have an e-commerce site. We manufacture to order and we sell in our shop in Italy. We have customers who we ship the jewelry, if you are interested in something particular, you can contact us by visiting our website www.oro-diamanti.it
Ali Raza I'm sorry but I could not, for two reasons, first the regulations do not allow to have people working if not assumed, and Italy is a cost to hire people, according to I would not have the time to reason and work shifts. But if I can give you advice, you can always ask me through ciat.
+scaffoal Thanks for your kindness but i am not asking you to hire me or some thing like that i am just saying just guide me how i can come all i want to learn from you i will manage my expenses by myself.
I know you already said it on the description, but How many grams of gold do you use when you make the gold slab? As i've watched many of your videos (which are excelent), you do use a lot of material which you then smelt it to re-use - so you have a little more "margin to error".i would like to learn a little bit more from the craft, ever since somebody stole my Grand-Father, barchelor in Law ring (only 3 rings were ever made). I also am Quite found in some male-ring (like your sword-ring shich is fantastic) and i would like to make it a home-project, with simple tools which i already have
+macbeth2354 Yes.. typically all that filing/drilling/sanding/cutting is done over some form of catchment and when its significant enough you can easily funnel it into your next smelt.
it's always great to watch you turn a lump of metal and a rock into art. thanks.
Even though I'm sure I never create jewelry, I find myself waiting for you posting a new video!
+Sal Bobrow Thanks, that makes me very happy

Ali Raza I'm sorry but I could not, for two reasons, first the regulations do not allow to have people working if not assumed, and Italy is a cost to hire people, according to I would not have the time to reason and work shifts. But if I can give you advice, you can always ask me through ciat.

+Manoel Melo It depends on the work, to make a ring as that of the video I have prepared about twice gold
scaffoal thank you, and please keep uploading your creations
What happens to all the metal powder from filing, sanding, cutting? Is it gathered and melted to be reused?
+macbeth2354 Yes.. typically all that filing/drilling/sanding/cutting is done over some form of catchment and when its significant enough you can easily funnel it into your next smelt.
+macbeth2354 of course gathered and melted again
+IllegalTacos Thank you!
+Giorgi Chikhladze Thanks!
+macbeth2354 The explanations are perfect thanks
what brand is the ring holder?
in a earlier video u used som sort of gold solder paste where or how did u get that?
+Gbgabbe What you see, is not solder paste, but the liquid flux. It serves to prevent the oxide gold and facilitates the movement of the weld
