It really is one of the best ambers. To your note of how it’s leanier like most of their offerings but there’s a little development, I 100% agree. Ambra aurea to me develops especially from the opening which comes of pungent from the ambergris, starts off with that anamalic then becomes the amber smoky resinous bomb that it is.

Ambra Aurea is magical. It crystallizes too, like honey - at least the tester did at my preferred niche perfumery here. It's so sticky and gooey, absolute magic - need to get my hands on it.
@@RamseytheRamwhat he meant by it crystalizing is the because of the use of real ambergris it tends to form a crystal like structure in the atomizer and preventing it from being sprayed, which is the reason they had to reformulate it. Either way it's a great fragrance regardless of the version.
@@pullingthestrings5233 yeah, the crystallisation was extensive around the atomizer, but the lady sprayed it normally, I wasn't aware it might cause problems. It's mighty interesting to see though.
Acqua di Sale crystallises also and does not contain ambergris. Profumum Roma perfumes have a 43-47% oil concentration, so anything at this range is concentrated enough to crystallises in some occasions.
Great early impression Ramsey. I’m actually testing Ambra Aurea at the moment and I really can’t decide if I prefer this over Amber Absolute. Aurea feels a tad brighter to me, making it a little more versatile over Absolute which is a beast. I’m undecided and need to keep testing. Anyhow it is without doubt an amazing work of art! 👍

I'm a bit disappointed in the review, in that I come here for the fine details, so using a sample and not mentioning which version (formulation) it is, and saying it's amazing and not to worry about different versions... this is falling in the trap of experiencing a fragrance for the first time and thinking it can't get any better and dismissing what came before originally. This perfume is well known to be reformulated at least once and not for the better, and I'm not saying this is always the case as you yourself have done side by side reviews and in some cases the newer versions are a improvement, however this isn't one of those having had older and a newer bottle myself... but I get why they did it in some respects because the older version would solidify and the crystals would block the atomiser, but it was also deeper and more animalic previously. A recent example I can use is Russian oud & RO2, they are not the same at all, with the new version being more wearable to most, yet feeling a little less special and lost an edge... even though i'm sure high quality ingredients are still being used, but you can't ignore it's different. Even Serge Lutens aren't as special and feel more factory manufactured with less care and i dont just mean the packaging. I personally think it's important to talk about the subject evenly no just the easy targets: Creed, Amouage, TF, ect, or it's only going to get worse if houses are allowed to get away with it.
I didnt know this house faced reformulation issues 😳 I honestly have no clue which "version" I got from my friend who sent it ..he sent me some old stuff like the Paper Label EDP of Roja Fetish so it is possible this is older but I dont know Sorry Andy 🤷🏻♂️
@@RamseytheRam I know I'm being 'Mr Negative' so I apologise for that, and still consider your channel and content to be one of the best things to come out of YT in recent years! 👍... personally i think it's sometimes worse to sample a original rare version first anyway, without actually owning a bottle, because you're always left a little disappointed in the version actually available... like your fabled Santa Maria Novella peau de espania... the version you own is a fine perfume, but having experienced the vintage gold label version your brain automatically reverts to the imprint it left... sorry for the reminder, haha ✌️
@@Andy_T79 😂😂😂 Its all good and yes you did remind me... i need to do a few more comparison vidoes on the channel soon... there are 3 comparison videos I have been sitting on that I need to make happen Creed Windsor vs Creed Royal Mayfair SMN Peau d'Espagnia gold foil vs New Bottle Giorgio Beverly Hills Red for Men Vintage Vs. @@RamseytheRamwhat he meant by it crystalizing is the because of the use of real ambergris it tends to form a crystal like structure in the atomizer and preventing it from being sprayed, which is the reason they had to reformulate it. Either way it's a great fragrance regardless of the version.
Interesting... did not know that was an issue
Thanks for sharing
Yes I think you are correct... Amber Absolute is darker for sure
Thanks for watching 💪🐏
Great review…another brand to watch out for. Will add to my never ending list.
The never ending list 👀👀👀👀
Our 100ml is 5 years old now and the most remarkable feature is the sweet notes with a developing saltiness- you can taste the salt.
I love that saltiness indeed
Thanks for watching 🙏🙏🙏
It’s the ambergris!
if anyone owns Sultan Ambre. What 3 fragrances are better in your opinion?
I will leave that to the ask the audience to comment below
One of my top ambers. I agree it isn't animalic at all unlike Fiori.
Definately a reference Amber... thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
Ahhh amber really the only genre I’m missing from my collection as u know not many vintage masculines do a proper amber may havta go try this one 🐏 never steered me wrong good day mate hope u had a great holiday. 🤜🤛
You will dig it... IF you like a proper Amber frag 🙏💪🐏
I would love to smell this one
It is one of the best Ambers IMHO 🙏🙏🙏
This scent is reformulated, sure, more incense in current version, different color too. I like a lot now but prefer original.
Never heard anyone say PR has had reform issues 🤔🤷🏻♂️
But I just dont know the past offerings from the brand well enough to comment on it
🐏🐏🐏 I agree not animalic at all. People throw that term around way too loosely 🍻
Glad its not just me 😅😅😅
Ambrra Aurea is a good one, I agree. Their Myrrh fragrance is quite nice as well
Ohhhhh that is on the to sniff list for sure 🐽
Thanks for watching & commenting 💪🐏
I didnt know this house faced reformulation issues 😳
I honestly have no clue which "version" I got from my friend who sent it ..he sent me some old stuff like the Paper Label EDP of Roja Fetish so it is possible this is older but I dont know
Sorry Andy 🤷🏻♂️
@@RamseytheRam I know I'm being 'Mr Negative' so I apologise for that, and still consider your channel and content to be one of the best things to come out of YT in recent years! 👍... personally i think it's sometimes worse to sample a original rare version first anyway, without actually owning a bottle, because you're always left a little disappointed in the version actually available... like your fabled Santa Maria Novella peau de espania... the version you own is a fine perfume, but having experienced the vintage gold label version your brain automatically reverts to the imprint it left... sorry for the reminder, haha ✌️
@@Andy_T79 😂😂😂
Its all good and yes you did remind me... i need to do a few more comparison vidoes on the channel soon... there are 3 comparison videos I have been sitting on that I need to make happen
Creed Windsor vs Creed Royal Mayfair
SMN Peau d'Espagnia gold foil vs New Bottle
Giorgio Beverly Hills Red for Men Vintage Vs. The Current EA version which I think just got discontinued all together within the last year
So more comparison vidoes to come!
@@RamseytheRam Great ideas!.. I'll look forward to those 👌... p.s. keeping with the seasonal theme, you might want to dig out your sample of Prada's Marienbad.... it's such a fine classy amber you'd be mistaken for thinking it comes from a french house.
@@Andy_T79 i have to find it first 😬👀
Enjoyed tfs
Appreciate you watching 💪🐏
Happy thanksgiving. It’s getting cold out so i wore , ENIGMA
Beautiful on the cold 🥃
Ambra Auera is beautiful, i sold my almost full bottle of Grand Soir after sniffing Ambra Auera from a decant i collected 😅...Love Ambre Russe, very unique! Best Amber fragrance i came across is Ambre Precieux by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, my reference amber fragrance! I prefer this over Ambre Sultan and Ambra Auera! Heard Ambre Mythique from the same house is incredible as well, Kafkaesque praised it very highly! Worth trying my friend! Best wishes 🙏..
I have a decant of Ambre Precieux & it is quite nice ... I will review it one of these days...thanks for watching & commenting 🙏🙏🙏
Awesome man
Thank you Andy hope you had a great Thanksgiving 💪🐏🦃🍗
