I didn't realize it had been delisted. I guess that makes sense, given the age. I never uninstalled it lol. It seems like you will have to sideload it if you really want to install it.
@doodlejkreviews I can't download the video or photo to my phone from the app for some reason. I hit the download option and it says it has downloaded to my phone but it isn't there.
Unfortunately, I'm not too sure what the problem could be. Either: 1) It isn't downloading to the phone. Or 2) It has downloaded to the phone, but in a separate folder that the phone can't detect. If the downloading doesn't take a long time (like 3 to 4 seconds), then I would assume that it is the first option, that the files aren't downloading to the device.
I found one in my drawer as well getting ready to move. I like to take pictures of cool cars I see while out and about. This is perfect for that. it also is less noticeable than a phone too so less awkward
I loved my HTC Re. I found that, as long as there was plenty of light, then it was a pretty enjoyable camera for street photography. The wide angle lens meant that you could just shoot from the hip, and 1 megapixels was enough to let you clean up the horizon line and reframe later. Having no screen gave a hint of the experience of shooting on film you didn't know exactly what you had until you downloaded them later on. I used it pretty much exclusively for stills and time lapses. I would still use it today, but sadly mine doesn't hold a charge at all, and it looks like a pretty big job to disassemble and change the battery yourself :-(
It definitely had a unique use case. As a semi-action camera that was constantly on, it was made for spontaneous photos/videos. Unfortunately, I don't think there will ever be another camera like this. Phone cameras have taken over the instant photo aspect, and pocket-sized gimbal cameras have taken over the camcorder aspect.
Sometimes the app just acts up like that. The best you can do is to just reset the app/camera and try again. Also it needs an sd card to work. I haven't really tried connecting to the camera without an sd card.
I just pulled mine out of a drawer last week! Where did you find the app? It's not in the google play store...

I still have the app on my phone too but trying to figure out how to edit video. Seems you can't do it in RE app.
No, you cannot edit video on the app. The app is only used for playback.
You can download clips to your device and find a video editor from there.

Thanks for the video! I still have four RE cameras and I still use them. I wish they still supported it

Im having trouble trying to connect idk if its the app or because the RE itself doesn't work without an sd card

i can not find app. would you please help?
Yes, the app has been discontinued. You will need to sideload it if you are on android.
I'm not sure what to do if you are on iOS.
