Trainees sacrifices their youth, education and family. Trains hard all day long, everyday for years in numerous fields like singing, dancing, language, variety skills, interview skills and plenty more. And they are doing all of that for free without even the guarantee of debuting and even if they do debut success is still not guaranteed. So be kinder to our idols and appreciate them more, don't make life even harder for them.
It is not for free for the large majority of trainees, just a deferred payments(at an expensive interest rate) where companies require payment if you do not debut and cancel your contract, and if you do debut, they will withhold idol pay and take revenue until the payment has been covered. Companies are often not transparent about fees and what the debt pay off plan is upon debut. SM has plans to start monetizing their training too, and I'm sure if that's successful other companies with follow too.
@@KindaJadedish i believe some companies especially the big 3 and probably bighit too don't make their trainees pay after they debut and if they want to end their contract
@@KindaJadedishmost trainees actually do not have to pay a debt if they are dropped from the company and sometimes the company will help them look for another company to train and transfer them. But if the trainee choose to drop out on their own, it is considered as a breach of contract and theyll have to pay the relevant fees. Also yg idols do not have to pay for their trainee debt after debut.
"Fame. It means you're loved by people. It's a really dangerous thing, fame. It's a bubble and it's nothing, but it looks like it's something. A bubble, when you touch it, it bursts. I hope they know that. If they don't have another goal after becoming famous, they'll become depressed."

Even if you don't like a group or specific members it's better just to keep your opinions to yourself because you never know what they are going through.
International fans will complain that knetz are horrible then act the exact same way, if not worse. All idols present their best side, but they're human and will make mistakes. They deserve to learn and grow, not be constantly harassed by strangers on the internet and be subjected to lies and rumors after a slip-up. These are real lives that are being messed with.
I get your point, but I think that Korean fans are a lot harsher on idols, just because of their way of thinking and how Korean culture is. As one of the journalists said in one of the previous episodes: "idols are a reflection of Korean society, they just want to see the best of the best". And as a result (from my point of view as a Westerner) they demand those levels of perfection, they are not humans for them, they are idols.
Sometimes when I hear idols talk about the things they went through before debuting and the trainees who didn't get to debut really make me feel bad for them, I just want to talk to them and give them a hug (platonically)
Me too evaluation is one of the scariest thing in life too especially pass or out back then when Seungri, T.O.P, Daesung, Jiyong (GD), Youngbae (Taeyang), Hyunseung (Beast) when they're on training back then especially YHS was still there for evaluation too 🤢😧

Thank you for having PENTAGON~~!! To all those who say " they choose this path they have to bear the consequences "... yall are not only nornalising the toxic kpop industry rules bit being toxic yourself. I bet you are the person who will go on hating an idol to bring up your fav.
I really wish Lydia could have joined Stayc. I thought she was so pretty and seemed like she was working really hard. I hope she's able to continue training with High UP and make a debut someday.
What is really sad is that the one of the only times that an idol gets a break is when they do their mandatory military enlistment. I know when Onew, Key and Minho of SHINee were discharged, they looked so healthy and well rested. They were able to get away from being in the public eye 24/7 for 20 months and were able to find their true selves. Key in fact said how he was trying to get Taemin to enlist earlier because of how much rest he was getting being enlisted into the military band. I remember him saying on his welcome back Vlive that the most rest he had ever gotten was in the military. That yeah sure he missed being able to go eat whenever and whatever he wanted and being able to see his fans all the time but at the same time it was really refreshing having a steady schedule instead of having to work 20 hours a day on only 3 hours of sleep.
The female idols don't do military service though. In fact they end up doing all these free gigs to entertain the troops added to their schedule if they become popular...
Idol contracts and her contracts are completely different. In the 1990s, Korean singers were fooled by a typical Hollywood contract in which money was taken away from their aides. There is no problem like her because idol is a 7-year standard contract. The problem that idols don't get paid these days is due to the negative system of trainee expenses. This is also changing positively as we move on to investment issues that are not burdensome to individuals. The two are completely different cases. I want to correct it because you are interested in K-pop and believe that the tragedy of the past is reaching the present.
The Kpop creation machine should pay for several "retired" K-POP artists to go to college to become licensed mental health therapists so they can come back and help the newer generations. They would understand the 50,000 fans. Football teams in America often have performance therapists on staff and mandate every player use the services so that there is a support network for the mental health. K-Pop machines should create the same concept.
Fans should also pay since they are the ones constantly demanding new content and who have the unrealistic expectations of the performers. Supply responds to demand.
I agree!! I felt heartbroken when that one girl said she felt like the therapist couldn’t understand her because they never went through the things idols have to endure
I don't know if this was just pure chance/ fate that who we know now as STAYC (alongside with their co-trainees) was part in this Kpop evolution documented series for the episodes 5 and 6. I mean its just so great to see stayc here being able too see their start as idols. ps. the whole documented series is interesting and amazing.
So Lydia and Minjung(former PD101 participant) didn't make the cut huh? I mean I would love to see StayC with them but I think the current lineup is just fine and balanced.
Idk, if i'm not mistaken, it was after debut the could live in the dorm with korean members. In one of their i-talks, i think it was in the time they were promoting uh oh on music shows, Soyeon or Minnie talks about moving into a new dorm and then one goes to say that she's excited bc foreigh and korean line wasn't going to be split anymore
Like Ye-eun said, there need to be a system that protect them mentally and even financially. Even the ones that succeed they're too young to manage their finance and need to be protected even from their own family.
They really went through a lot over the years. That is why I could never understand how other people could easily say bad things and spread nonsense rumors about them because they are still humans. It's okay that we have our opinions about them, but not to the extent that we will ruined their life already :((
Nurture that empathy inside, always being grateful, appreciate others to truly see the humanity in us for every line of work on this earth. If its really that hard for you, i am really sorry for you. Be kind, that is the least we could do.
Yes idols are human too ! Stop bullying your idols . Even though you didn't like some group , just keep it with you , no need to spread the hate , no one want to know it . And also for the fans , don't leave your idols suffering alone when something bad news happen to them . Show your support to them , don't come when they only got a win or else . be with them when they happy , sad , excited . Its frustrating to see some of fans leave when the group is in bad situation 🤦

Now that STAYC finally debuted it's up to us now to ensure their success and that they won't fall victim to that occupational disease.

(G)I-dle queens! They have pass through so much! Neverland will be always with you! ❤💜
This video is more important than y'all think. Everybody needs to watch this. Share this and don't stop.
thank you for having STAYC as the trainee ❤❤
So this was shot in 2019, STAYC had come a long way to get to where they are now. Makes me appreciate them even more.
The first minutes of this episode remind me of ryeowook in super junior comeback show when he said he hurt his arm but it's his job to not show us, the fans, the pain (something like this) and it hurt even more :(

Thank you for having PENTAGON~~!!
Also, the idol life is indeed harder than it seems, even since trainees everything is like being on the hunger games and each day the competition is getting harder, also all of them work so hard and yet only a few of them receive recognition is quite sad, tbh. whether you like their music or not, always respect their hard work.
We love to see Soojin 🖤
(G)I-DLE fighting!!! 🏰
To all those who say " they choose this path they have to bear the consequences "... yall are not only nornalising the toxic kpop industry rules bit being toxic yourself. I bet you are the person who will go on hating an idol to bring up your fav.
I'm so proud of our STAYC girls
@@stuyvesanth.189 yes I am well aware of that.
@@stuyvesanth.189 Worked out for Brave Girls though. The military made them huge
@@Threshk That's more marketing mythology than fact actually, but the kind of story audiences like to hear.
Yes she set the model for the system including being exploited by others and having all her money stolen

I felt that hit real hard

I think everyone can relate, that in the first 30 seconds of this video you thought of the k-idol group/artist you stan and felt like a proud parent
It's sad to watch this and sometimes feel that this is labor exploitation only for reaching an unreal perfection.
Yes I agrre
And branding?!
Gidle💜❤️
I don't know if this was just pure chance/ fate that who we know now as STAYC (alongside with their co-trainees) was part in this Kpop evolution documented series for the episodes 5 and 6. I mean its just so great to see stayc here being able too see their start as idols.
ps. the whole documented series is interesting and amazing.
So Lydia and Minjung(former PD101 participant) didn't make the cut huh? I mean I would love to see StayC with them but I think the current lineup is just fine and balanced.
At 9:25 I’m pretty sure Minnie says about a year before debut, instead of the subtitles saying a year after
aaah..... that's why I'm so confused about that
Idk, if i'm not mistaken, it was after debut the could live in the dorm with korean members.
I came here to rewatch GIDLE, but I saw familiar faces and those faces are now debuted as STAYC!!
They really went through a lot over the years. That is why I could never understand how other people could easily say bad things and spread nonsense rumors about them because they are still humans. It's okay that we have our opinions about them, but not to the extent that we will ruined their life already :((
Apreciamos todo su esfuerzo STAYC, swith las ama mucho!!
came back here to celebrate the success of STAYC today. Love them!
This needs to be seen and understood by many
Nurture that empathy inside, always being grateful, appreciate others to truly see the humanity in us for every line of work on this earth.
이런거 보면 차라리 잡덕이 많아지는게 한편으로는 안전한것 같기도..경쟁도 완화되고 기본적인 존중과 인터넷 매너의 중요성에 대한 공감대도 넓어질듯
Jinho and Hui: universe miss you we hope you comeback well and healthy.
Yuto and Yan An: thank you for stay strong even in the hardest moments
For the rest of the members: Thank you for give us amazing songs, for take care each other, for your hard working.
Pentagon fighting, we were always be your universe
I bet when this was filmed, Rado was hoping this would help launch the group, not knowing this would be posted at their first comeback...
What is the group's name?? I just stopped at 14:07

ISA will always stand out no matter the color of her hair. She was born to be an idol.
So glad STAYC songs are getting recognitions these days
Tqs for making this vedio. Whenever people write any hate comment I hope that this vedio comes to their mind atleast once.
I feel bad for the girls that didn’t make it in stayc but I am so proud of them especially seeun knowing she trained for a few months before debut but she looks like she’s a professional stayc are monster rookies!
my heart aches for yeeun/ ha:tfelt, her tone, her way of elaborating things. it's like her eyes are screaming that kpop is not all pretty and shiny and perfect just like what we see in our screens. as a senior artist, she must have went through a lot and hearing her speak about the hardships of kpop idols/trainees makes my heart yearn to hug her.
so great to see stayc here..now they're quite big
If that dance instructor was responsible for the choreography in ASAP she's a genius. There's so many details in it that you don't notice until you see it many times.
23:05 24:00 Wonder Girls Yeeun words at the end are particularly hard to hear, behind every smile is a whole world that we have no idea about as fans...
And the truth is I don't know if at some point this perception towards them will change
I love her honesty, she's a model for all idols, they need to know how to say "stop" "no", I hope the best for all of them though I'm a fan of very few
It's so sad to see this. The wrost thing is that a lot of people keep hating on idols, there's a lot of inmature people that just say things without knowing the person. It makes me feel anger. They're just humans. They're not perfect. And you're no one to judge them.
I'm not American but the way that speaker said self made artists and talent that discovered not created is just wow, kpop is something we need in our daily life.
Yeah I felt that 😭. And also one of the speaker said that being a K-Pop idol is an occupation where one's true self needs to be hidden. It's painful to see tho 😟
I suppose there are pros and cons to both?
STAYC members looks shabby in here but you can see that they are definitely at Goddess-tier visuals even before debut.
that guy at 24:21-24:24 was so damn creepy. he giving me bad vibes. i mean like some of these girls are underage like bruhhhhhh
“shabby”….what is shabby about them 😭 that’s very odd wording
@@423__ Shabby meaning lack of care, uncared, not looked after properly, dressed in old clothes, etc. I refer to their make-ups, clothing and general styling. Didn't I praised the girls visuals as Goddess-tier.
20:22 exactly 💯✔
Giving up your education, physical pain, and metally exhaustion is the worst part of this 💔 plus they can't debut unless they are perfect 💔
Now im crying. Soojin, pls be strong.
Many of the fans says, "you're music saved my life." but we cannot save them.
