Yes sir and I learned that one on my own first as well as using the library to save blocks but I never used the snapshots and wow was I missing out. I think all 3 tips here are game changers for sure.
Gurtej, I have FX-II Mark II for over 3 yrs and never before used Looper, or Block Library, or Snapshots. Now I have new tools. Thank you again for so much contribution to my learning. ps, I made a contribution thru PayPal - time to repay you for all your time and effort.
Dear Roger, first of all thank you so so so much! You have made my day with your great feedback and contribution. I am honestly very glad that my videos could help someone with something. I never thought that I would reach here. In fact, I think it's the other way around. Your support and appreciation has made me come this far :). And your feedback and contribution is tremendous and it keeps me going to make more content and share with all. I am honoured to have you as a supporter and really really appreciate and value your kind words. Thank you so much for everything!
Thank you for making these videos! I just got an axe fx 2 and your videos have been really helping me out. Very well explained and good presentation. I will be following you for more videos.
The looper tip is a great one. I use it myself. Kind of the same thing as the days of dialing in amps and pedals with a pedal-based looper. Let's you concentrate on what you're hearing and gives you a consistent foundation to tweak from instead of having to play/tweak/play/tweak, etc. I wish FAS would do videos like this. We could all benefit from a lot of these tips, but they're so hard to find sometimes. Everything together in one place would be awesome.
Hey good video thanks! It took me 2 years to start using the library to save blocks I set up. I will now have to start using the snapshot. I just never thought of using it and it makes so much sense to do this. I also use the looper for dialing in my tone often and it is a big time saver.
Thanks for the video!. However, as you mentioned @9:10, if you close Axe Edit, and then reopen, the Edit snapshot folder is blank. However, go to 'preset,' drop down to 'import preset' and the snapshot folder opens on your computer, then load the snapshot you want. And btw, I'm a new subscriber. Cheers!
Glad you like the content. Sure, I will be putting out more ToneQuest videos as soon as the lockdown gets better here and I am able to get my guitar fixed. Thanks for watching!
@@GurtejSinghGuitar Thank You sir will really apreacte that right now I have been using my ear to learn to hear just the basic eq on a modeling amp so I can hear the bass .mids and treble frequenciesand trying the match those over at guiatr tricks
At the moment, presets cannot be backward converted. So unfortunately you cannot install a Axe FX 3 preset on the Axe FX 2. You can use the FracTool to try to convert or view the details of the preset and dial in something similar on the Axe FX 2, hope this helps.
Hey. The link seems to be working fine for me. Could you try again? Let me know if it does not work, send me your email, and I'll arrange to send you the block. Thanks
I just downloaded Axe edit 3 off the Fractalaudio website and none of the icons or boxes do anything when I click on them. Also there's a red x in the top right portion of the screen that says "disconnected" next to it, even though my Axe FX is plugged into my computer. Please help
I read somewhere that I need to download the usb driver for the Axe edit software, so I tried to download the 2019 mac version off the fractal audio website and this is the notification I get: “Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II USB Driver.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." So I tried to contact the developer but when I click the "contact us" icon on their website, it appears that they only converse with customers who bought their product directly from fractal audio. It says "If you ordered your product from a Fractal Audio dealer in another region, please first contact that dealer for support" I bought my Axe FX 2 from some guy in New York through Reverb.com, and they're obviously not going to be able help me. So I guess I just wasted a thousand dollars on something I'm not going to be able to properly use.
Hey Chad, this seems like a known issue with the Mac installation, although I am on a windows machine so can't really say. From what I can understand this seems to have something to do with the security settings in the mac and not really the Axe Edit 3. I did a quick search on the Forums and found a couple of other guys facing a similar issue and have posted workarounds. I would recommend you check these links out: forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/%E2%80%9Cax8-edit%E2%80%9D-can%E2%80%99t-be-opened-because-apple-cannot-check-it-for-malicious-software.157439/ forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/help-installing-axe-edit.160583/ Also, if you are unable to still getting it to work, I would recommend you to join the forum and post a thread of your problem. There are many helpful folks who are surely going to help you out. Hope this helps!
No worries man, hope it gets sorted. The Axe FX is an amazing unit and I hope you get to enjoy it's power :) Cheers and thanks for watching! Just one question, you have the Axe FX 3 or 2? If you have the 2 then you would need Axe Edit 2 and not 3. Hope this helps. Cheers.
@@GurtejSinghGuitar Okay that's good to know. I have the Axe FX 2 but I thought I read somewhere that Axe edit 3 was compatible with both. My first attempt at this was with the earlier software (just called Axe edit) and the website explicitly says it's for the Axe Fx 2, but when that didn't work I tried downloading the Axe edit 3. I'll keep troubleshooting and let you know if I find a solution incase anyone else who's having the same problem stumbles across this comments section.
Nice presentation.
Thank you so much for watching and creating the amazing Axe Fx! I have been really digging the tones I'm getting out of it! Cheers guys!
