I'm enjoying these videos that are getting closer to the 30 minute mark. Ya, i know why you stopped blah blah blah, just saying I'm noticing it and I'm enjoying it.
Any chance before it gets cold, you'll be doing your spin on a spider hole/stealth camp build? I'm interested to see what your spin would be on it, as well knowing your imagination, we can all but assume it won't be a disappointment by any stretch!

You have awakened the outdoorsman in me, I am ex-Army and have been an outdoorsman all of my life, However in 2012 I enrolled into a local College and started a Career in IT. This move caused me to forget my grass-roots upbringing for a while until my eye caught one of your videos. Now I am hooked. I am getting ready to resupply my survival arsenal. Thanks for the new life.

Dude i feel you. Its like we forgot. Every weekend when i was a kid all my family got together during summer and fall for camping we would all pack up just to ho yo the woods and the river catch our food the men would let us watch them filet fish or skin and separate deer and everything tasted better cooked over a fire! We did that to stay true yo our roots I believe. Not only the survival critical skills we need if things go bad and well we started feeling comfortable I believe and forgotabout these things. But also i think its like out dna holds memory or something and we also know that just being out and bonding with nature is also something we need for survival

Man does this video bring back memories. At the family hobby farm/retirement ranch, I built a sod house on the slope of a south-facing hill. Our eldest two offspring worked beside me on the project. The heater was a military tent stove found at auction. The side walls were constructed from the biggest boulders I could roll into place. The south wall had a good size door and several recycled storm windows to allow light and sunshine. What a pleasure to watch the whitetail deer and an occasional moose drink from the beaver pond at the base of the hill. My eldest son passed away unexpectedly a few years ago far too young. I know that my eldest daughter carries a fond memory of the project along with me. Thank you Shawn for this wonderful project, I relived a wonderful time from my past.

@corporals Corner Shawn! Absolutely love this bunker idea with the fireplace!!! Your final thoughts were inspirational as well. I had planned to move and sell our house 5 years ago. We lived in the city for 30 years and had made plans to leave there and start a homestead.
Fast forward to now. We have been in our homestead for almost 1 year now. We looked for opportunities and made ourselves available and jumped on them as soon as they were there. We got a great deal on our home and have almost 9 acres with woods! I have never felt more blessed. Hard work and visualization of what you want pays off. Preparing yourself for your future makes it available when the opportunities present themselves.
I have also seen that in others that I work with and man is that great!!
Thank you again for all you do!! Keep up the great work!!

It’s definitely a good option for a long term stealth shelter which could easily be hidden by brush. Nice fire place too.

This reminds me of a fighting position with over head cover. I have slept a few and they keep the water out if you do the prep work

What is it about Marines and holes in the ground? 😁 just kidding, Shawn. You are showing what's possible with an E-tool and a little determination, fer sure! A multi - room hooch would be wild, like some of the rammed earth and tire homes I've seen. Not a square corner to be found, yet cool and funky all at once. Like the Townsend cabin build, amazing!

Well done Shawn, another top shelf video. If you enjoy extreme camping you should come down under.
