Epic Day fishing for Rainbows on the Kenai River - Alaska Trout Fishing

Dylan and I decided to brave the crowds on Labor Day weekend, and boy were we rewarded. Friday was a beautiful day, so there were a lot of boats around, and plenty of fish as well! Saturday was overcast and drizzly, so the crowed thinned out.
We seemed to have been there at the perfect time, the
sockeye were just starting to span, so the fish were hungry, but not too full from eating eggs. We landed over 60 fish between us on the 2 days of fishing.
Hard to beat the Kenai River when it is on!

It was a good day. It depends on where you are fishing and what time of year you are fishing.
