Leaking Gaggia Brera: simple fix with new o-rings

  • My Gaggia Brera leaks all coffee out the bottom, and was fixed with two o-rings. You only need a 2mm Allen key.
    Fixed with this item on ebay:
    Six O-Rings for Saeco Philips Boiler Pin valves. Food grade silicone.
    Saeco, Gaggia Boiler Valve Pin O-rings Exprelia, Odea, Xelsis, Spidem
    Two 140324459 / 996530013508 (same parts) goes near top
    Two 140328059 / 996530013564 (same parts) goes on side
    One NM01.035 /996530059399 (same parts) goes on lower
    One NM01.057 / 996530059419 (same parts) goes on lower

    Holy crap. Finally an explanation why mine is leaking. I ran the unit open and saw it dripping.

    You need to apply food safe silicone lubricant to the O-rings before installing them, and keep them lubed periodically to prevent premature failure. Use the same stuff on your brew group O-rings and all the channels where the brew group slides/moves. It will prolong the life of everything, the motors, gears and other mechanical parts.

      (some cleaning, before mounting them also helps prevent leakage)

    Well, the fasteners are actually T-10 Torx, not Allen. The two types are similar enough that your #2 Allen worked, but that may not always be the case across all the sizes. Also, your machine appears to need a general descaling.

    jesus christ... seen the state of that machine, I'm even surprised the problem was just a broken o-ring. This machine is a tank

    You don't have to remove the valve to replace the o rings. I just did it on mine and they come off/go on fairly easily. Don't forget to descale and replace the large o ring on the removable brew group. If you only use distilled water you never get the scale buildup.

    Where is it leaking from my tray was filling alot, I at least had to empty daily. Drink lots if cups daily, I changed the o rings without removing anything btw but still its doing same is it normal at this point

    I have changed the O ring but still have lots of water in the coffee ground drawer. How to go about it? Any idea? What is faucet valve in Brera coffee machine look like?

    You have descale light on ..start decaying first before repalckng all of these gaskets
