I posted this elsewhere but if the Enterprise F is around then they would be the heroes. None of the current writers (Kurtzman, et al.) want to create anything new. Period. I've made peace with the Enterprise-E being decommissioned after the battle as seen in Prodigy. Yes, she wasn't old by any means, but in my own head canon I just figured they did a cost-benefit analysis; what it would "cost" to repair and refit the Sovereign, versus what it would "cost" to simply build a new ship. It probably was either going to be cheaper to build a new ship, and faster, or about the same as repairing the E.

If the only time we'll see it in Picard is when it's already crippled and about as useful as a wet paper bag - what's the point showing it at all?! Indeed coming into Picard, I was expecting the refit Enterprise E to be the "hero" ship or at least to feature heavy, to perhaps be getting a bit old by the point in the story, but to perform excellently alongside the new ships, we'd see and MAYBE by the end of series two, start to struggle and Starfleet announce their intentions to replace it with the F or a least suggest that they would soon... Will we be teased with the new Enterprise G now?! Indeed, it's really strange that we didn't get a new canon Star Trek show indeed showing more of the E and the actual F, not long after Nemesis and certainly strange that we didn't get one after Enterprise (the show of the same name), ended!! 😯😂🩲😀🤘🤞
I'm not disappointed at all - in fact, I'm relieved! I was disappointed they went for the STO Ent-F in the first place... I really don't like the design at all.
Really have you actually looked at the Enterprise F models at all from STO and compared it to what they are doing in Picard?. The F is as much an Enterprise as every other. They could have just made a Lexington refit of their own for the new Exploration initiative in Picard instead of decommissioning it in it's prime.
I think it's a retroactive explanation but the pieces are all there they just haven't come to terms with it conceptually they're going forward with the enterprise-f for Star Trek Picard I don't believe they were ever going to revisit the enterprise-e but the lack of a definitive explanation is puzzling if enterprise-f does come into service in 2386 as is the series directing it now so if what the showrunner was saying for Picard is true coupled with high mileage whatever that means to a 24th century society and extensive damage it's totally plausible as Starfleet could simply say you know the Enterprise he has had a wonderful run but she's just not worth repairing in since the Scimitar overpowered it we need a new flagship class
Still the possibility to see it in it's prime. After all Lower Decks is set in the 2380's so it could show up there. Or in another show set in that period.
I can see them retiring the f cuz the e and f were made during wartime, and being they have the neo constitution class now, politically retiring ships of war and building ships of exploration seems like something that would happen
Neo constitution is like over 100 years in Picard while the Enterprise is only 15 years old at Picard. Even if F was more dmg why is the Titan A saveable while the F is decommisson despite being that younger
The F is large enough not only as a warship ( it serves the role well) but is designed to perfectly merge the lessons learned from the Galaxy and Sovereign classes. Why get rid of something that capable.
@@gerogyzurkov2259 in this season the titan a is a brand new ship.the Kirk era enterprise was a constitution class.the neo constitution class is the new titan a
If this is legit, it’s pretty stupid. How come they’re decommissioning an odyssey class vessel but yet Sovereign’s and Excelsior’s and everything else are still being used… None of this makes sense at all
Just another sign of how the Star Trek franchise has been mismanaged. Potential and opportunities squandered. When are they selling Star Trek to a different studio? Hopefully someone that'll do it some justice?
Paramount needs to put their foot on Kutzman and foresee Star Trek better. They seem unfortunately in bed with him though. As they're happy with his work. Says more on the company that they're happy with their hired studio doing such stuff to Star Trek
All this information contradicts its self from other information. I read somewhere else that the enterprise f was launched in 2404 which is when the Picard series takes place. So basically the enterprise e was launched in 2373 and presumably destroyed in 2384 which it only served 11 years and then according to this video enterprise f was launched in 2386 and decommissioned in 2404 so the lifespan of a ship is very short but like it’s stated on this video, there have been ships that have been in service more than 60 to 100 years. Even the luna class usa titán was destroyed and replaced by the uss titan-A. I just hope that the next enterprise is not a retro looking ship like the titán A or the new stargazer. I like the titán A but it seems that it doesn’t fit the 25 century look. The design looks more like it fits on the late 23 century or early 24 century.
I think the Enterprise is "Yesterday's Trek". I think the new series purposely divorced the story from the Enterprise to enforce a new era of Trek. From what I see at this late stage in PicIII, the Titan A is the new hero ship for Star Trek, and as an over 50 year fan of Star Trek, I am OK with that. My heroes have always been the characters. To say that Star Trek is not Star Trek without the Enterprise, is like saying Roy Rogers is not Roy Rogers without Trigger, or The Lone Ranger is Not the Lone Ranger without Silver. I know, Boomer References, but I'll give you one more... Would you reduce Star Trek to "Knight Rider", or "Air Wolf", making the Ship the primary character?
I'm getting irritated with the Star Trek storylines. There are stories that the writers could build on. DS9 > Gamma Quadrant. ST Voyager > Delta Quadrant. I am not talking about the crew of Voyager. I'm talking about something new. Of all the ST shows i can't wait to see Section 31.
Ummm.... how would this surprise you? Modern Star Trek is nothing but one disappointment after another after another after another... need I go on??? Basically, if it is what the fans want, they are determined not to give it to us
Meh. It was an ugly ship anyway. Not as ugly as that Titan. But ugly as it is. They go through these ships too fast. Literally 3 Enterprise Ships built and decommissioned in 25 years. The J is roaming around in the 26 century. They need to stop killing the ships unless we’re believing they only go through 4 more in the next 200 years.
I don't see just 4 more if they're trying to mirror real life considering how many wars and conflicts would arise. That's one thing Roddenberry didn't account for.
Do they just look at the fans and say hey the fans want to see the enterprise E let’s destroy it then they want to see the F so they flip is the bird and say haha nope
I'm truly amazed why anyone continues to finance Kurtzman "trek" it's like pouring gasoline into a trashfire xD I pity anyone who watches it - or worse - PAYS to watch it xD
OMG. Those clips showing swooping, diving, hairpin turns and other total nonsense takes the edge off any worries of not having watched any NuTrek. I guess I was expecting progress away from childish depictions, not regression to a Saturday Morning Cartoon. Pure fantasy sci-fi geared to the lowest common denominator, bereft of any science fiction. Disappointed. Just not my bag I guess. Do sharks come out of the space tornados too?
Speaking of which...Did I just see the Protostar do a Hammerhead air combat maneuver at the end of that IN SPACE??!? DID I SEE A STARSHIP IN SPACE GO 'VERTICAL' AND THEN 'STALL OUT' AND 'FALL' BACK DOWN AGAIN?!?! Nope. Uh ah. I'm out!

Well even if we didn't see, she served nearly twice as long as D.
of all the current star trek shows, prodigy is second best only to picard season 3
I reckon they skipped over the Enterprise E and F because G is the 7th letter of the alphabet, and guess who became Captain?
🤔
Next time Enterprise G I guess...
honestly i think this will be the changing of the flag and the enterprise being no longer the flagship and bring in the new USS Titan line of ships
@@gerogyzurkov2259 in this season the titan a is a brand new ship.the Kirk era enterprise was a constitution class.the neo constitution class is the new titan a
@@barrybend7189 it's also younger than both. Is the writers spiting on the game is what I can only think about with such bad things they write for it.
@@barrybend7189 I hear that.i hope it's just a rumor and they don't retire the f.
I thought the enterprise f was an odyssey class as it is in sto
It is
Plenty of letters left in the alphabet.
@@gerogyzurkov2259 Roddenberry was long dead when Enterprise aired and the J from the 26 century was cruising around.
I hope season 3 is better than 2. Season 2 was lame.
I dont see the point of destroying ships. Time jumps is also an overdone concept.
Don't worry, an Enterprise G is on the way. Smh.
Do they just look at the fans and say hey the fans want to see the enterprise E let’s destroy it then they want to see the F so they flip is the bird and say haha nope
Ohhh G~eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 😆
Why in the hell do you drop a spoiler like that in the tag line.
I think the F's ugliness is a stain on its lineage so I won't miss it if it's one-and-done.
Emh the J.
Probably blowup
If that is the case this is BS
When you support JJ/Kurtzman/Bad Robot you can expect to see garbage like this in Trek. It's YOUR fault.
I'm truly amazed why anyone continues to finance Kurtzman "trek" it's like pouring gasoline into a trashfire xD I pity anyone who watches it - or worse - PAYS to watch it xD
No no no

All basically poor story and back ground writing...
Star Trek today is for me always disappointing.
Season 2 was for the fans and now season 3. 😂
I don’t care about it. 🤷♂️
Nope. Uh ah. I'm out!
It would be cool if we see enterprise g now, or maybe a refit of the f
Oh, you’re gonna see it alright. But it ain’t gonna be what you expect.
You might just be disappointed.
