I was a total wreck when Enterprise-D appeared in the spacedock. I screamed out loud YES 👏🏼 and hit the replay button four times before I allowed the scene to continue!
That entire scene is etched into my memory. Everything about it was... exactly the way it needed to be. Data being happy to see his old chair; I don't know if it was an intended reference or not, but in the First Splinter novels (some of whose writers work for the franchise now), Data exactly re-creates his old Ops station on a ship of his own design. The moment Picard took at the Tactical station; a subtle nod to Tasha. The crack about the carpet; lampshading both the difficulty the production crew had in finding stock for the set, and the eternal question of why the deck of a ship would have rugs. It was the details. And when the Main Computer announced that Picard was in command, I literally broke down in tears when I heard the correct voice: in that moment, the last surviving crewmate - the ship herself - reported for duty.

So weird to call the D old. I still remember when I was a kid and she came out. My head was exploding because we were getting a new Star Trek series. But to find out that it was actually set a century after the TMP period was insane! Then when I first saw the Enterprise-D, I fell in love. She was beautiful... sleek and new. Nothing would ever replace the original Enterprise and the Refit, but the Enterprise-D was a worthy successor.
On occasion, in sci fi, certain ships develop a personality and become characters. For example, in Star Wars, the Millennium Falcon had so much personality that it became a character. In the TOS series of Star Trek, the original Enterprise was treated as a character and thus gained a personality and became a character as well. And during the seven year run of TNG, the Enterprise D became a character as well, watching her demise in Generations was to me, heartbreaking. I won't lie, seeing the Enterprise D returning from the dead brought tears to my eyes, it was like seeing an old friend return. I have to admit, I didn't see any of the publicity photos or anything that hinted at its return prior to seeing that Episode of Picard, so its reveal came quite as a shock to me. It was probably one of the best surprises I have seen in a long time.
It gave them the second ending they deserved, because they got a good ending in All Good Things as other people said. I hated in the previous seasons that they killed Data A SECOND TIME, we totally didn't need that.
I absolutely positively LOVED seeing the ship again, and most especially seeing the senior crew all back together on board the beautiful Galaxy Class ship again!!

I was very excited to see the Enterprise-D return. I built the 2500 scale model this summer (Model #39) and took it to GalaxyCon Raleigh for Terry Matalas and Levar Burton to autograph it.
Sorry but everyone on the Enterprise-D died in Generations, including Picard. Every Next Generation film is Picard having a dream in the rift, he is still there and no, the rift is NOT a time travel device. They are dead. The only way for them to be alive is that they are clones of the originals.
Since I was a kid, I was captivated by the Enterprise D(like Kirk's love for the original Enterprise). I hated seeing her destroyed and crash land on Veridian III. When season 3 was announced I knew she'd be back as well as seeing hints going back to episode 1. She's not just a vessel, but also a beloved character in TNG. I love the lines Geordi and Riker say when she's forever placed at the Fleet Museum: Geordi: "It's difficult to imagine what we would of been without her". Riker: "Different certainly. But, certainly not better." Geordi: "...after all she's always taken good care of us."
The giddiness I felt when they revealed the D was so overwhelming, I couldn't contain it. It was almost embarrassing. My wife joked she was married to a thirteen year-old. I didn't care. I felt like I - WE - had come home again.

I knew they were doing a lot of things just to make fans happy, but finally gathering the old crew and reviewing the final member, had be smiling, a smile I could not get rid of for the rest of the day basically. The galaxy class has always been my favorite starship, and seeing the Enterprise D after all these years believing she had been chopped up and forgotten about was such a happy moment, and to know she will finally get her well deserved spot at the fleet museum for future generations to enjoy her majestic size and design, and battle scars that still stained the saucer section, which only made her look so much better then she would of she was completely clean.
While I do agree, The enterprise E has a place in my heart too. I loved it's sleek design and it just felt like a beast in combat and was so agile for its size. Would love to see the E return. But you are right the Enterprise D is by far the best and most iconic. In my opinion at least.
Well done. Just enough lore to keep on point with a healthy dose of personal opinion, without being a complete tool. I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Thank you for your work.
Before Picard Season 3, I had resigned myself to the fact that the Enterprise-D saucer section had been dismantled and her hull materials recycled for newer ships. I was quite giddy when I heard that the entire hull had been salvaged (despite Picard's 2371 log entry) and fully restored. I instantly knew that Geordi La Forge was the man responsible and guessed that he had taken a few pages from Montgomery Scott's book on rebuilding starships. I couldn't be more grateful! 🖖😃👍
The TNG technical manual detailed the procedures of a controlled landing of a saucer section and subsequent recovery by the stardrive section, I assume it was just as simple as getting a ship with sufficient technical manpower and tractor power to stabilize the saucer then tractor it back in orbit, from there it's a simple rig for towing.
@@SVSky beyond repairs usually means repairing it does not make sense economically or in terms of efficiency. For example, if a Boeing 747's wing snap at its root on the ground, repairing it will cost more than buying a brand new airplane, it is certainly possible to repair it.
Words cannot describe how happy it made me to see this Grand Lady again. Knowing that no matter how bleak and hopeless the situation was everything was going to be just fine. 😊
I liked the idea that came up with the Ships of the Line calendar for how they got the saucer back. Back in August, 2018, the calendar had a shot of the saucer getting salvaged on Veridian, including swapping out the bridge module and pulling the escape pods. I had assumed that the Corps of Engineers pulled as much dead weight off of the saucer while fixing the engines and dampeners enough to let the fleet of tugs be able to lift our favorite Frisbee out of the treeline.
Seeing the Big D on Picard was like reliving a part of my childhood. I literally had tears in my eyes when she first appeared and choked up a bit too. Sure, I've watched the entirety of TNG dozens of times over the last 25 years, but seeing something NEW with my favorite Starship of all time was absolutely fantastic! I for one am hoping Paramount Greenlights Legacy and lets Matalis make the show many Trek fans want. Having the TNG crew show up in the big D from time to time would be awesome! Separately: Shout out to the Enterprise-F, likely the shortest lifespan of any Enterprise in history, but as a long time STO player, was AMAZING to see the Odyssey class on screen!
I imagine some vuridian-4 Von Daniken is now running around shouting "ancient aliens!" And his fellow Viriduans are making finger-twirling gesture and muttering "looney!"
The Enterprise D couldn't have gotten a better fate: Instead of sitting on some lonely planet, rusting away and succumbing to the elements, or in some junkyard, Geordi La Forge to it upon himself to restore his old ship, and as circumstances required it to go on one final heroic mission, the old TNG heroes did just that, cementing the Enterprise to the Fleet Museum in a place of honor where she will be visited and admired for Generations to come.

I nearly cried when I saw the D. I'm so glad they brought it back. The Galaxy class was one of my favorites, if not my favorite. There's something I really loved about that wide hull and curves.
The Restored Enterprise D return to the Fleet Museum and shut down 1 yr after the final battle with the Borg , The Ship was active for 1 yr , i can think of dozens of important duty were assign to Enterprise D during that 1 yr . Like Temporary Flag Ship until all the Borg hidden program were removed from the fleet, a safe place for High Ranking surviving Star Fleet Commanders to gather and make plans ( like how to catch the Changling ) and a good place for diplomatic meeting with other head of States ( Klingon Chancellor ) to assure them the Federation is still stable
There's no proof that the Enterprise D even the events of Star Trek Picard there's no proof that the ship was active immediately afterwards for the year until she was placed in the museum the show didn't indicate that and the premise didn't elaborate on it the only thing we know for certain is that one year later the ship was in pristine condition for the museum exhibit but hert condition and activities immediately after the conclusion of the battle with the Borg is a unknown
Just proves that Star Fleat is bad at grid, virtual, security. Remember to always secure internet access and to separate car and phone from home. Just in case. 😁

Mr. Adam, you say that we're allowed to skip ahead if we know the backstory of The Enterprise D (which I'm sure we all do). And yet I watch it anyway because I find your humor so amusing!
This is the most in-depth review that I have seen yet! I like how you specifically mention that Geordie LaForge said that the "Engines and Nacelles came from the USS Syracuse." He never once said or implied that the entire secondary hull (aka the stardrive) was that of the USS Syracuse. For all we know, he had his drone techs completely reconstruct a new Stardrive Section for her. Crafting a new stardrive section would be a huge task but not for an army of drones and would only require standard building materials that all Federation ships have used. The engines and nacelles however would be considered outdated technology and likely use specialized materials, so salvaging them from an existing ship makes a lot of sense to me. On another note, when I saw that Deanna took the helm again, I about had a stroke....fearing that she would once again crash the ship into something and Geordie would have to start all over again! lololol
Geordi's dedication to restoring the Enterprise D shows just how much he loved that ship. can't imagine how he felt watching 2/3 of it being destroyed. #PoorStardrive
Enterprise D was a real beast: survived multiple alien attacks including battle with Borg, then engineering hull exploded but saucer survived that while also landing on planet and remaining mostly intact! Then 30 years later she goes toe to toe with Borg's Mothercube (yeah cool name ;P ) Peak of engineering. Also don't hate on me but D0T drones are brilliant. It would explain how starships are always so quickly repaired and cleaned between episodes. As I remeber from Enterprise, T'Pol revealed that Vulcans used them to explore planets and ships. So during that era Earth Starfleet had non of them, forcing ships to be repaired by hand or in spacedock. After Federation was founded Vulcans shared that tech with rest of races. So D0Ts are cleary Vulcan technology.
I’m torn between “mother cube” and “queen cube.” Queen is a bit more alliterative, but mother obviously alludes to the idea of a mother ship. 🤷🏻♀️🤔🤷🏻♀️🤔🤷🏻♀️🤔🤷🏻♀️🤔
Good explanation for why the D was able to maneuver so well in season 3! Less crew = less power to the inertial dampeners and a bit less power to the structural integrity field
Part of me thinks that it would have been really cool if instead of the basic version of the D, we got the Galaxy-Class Dreadnaught version from All Good Things
Going through the ICYMI and right off the bat, thank you for not making the crack that Dianna is responsible for the destruction of the Enterprise saucer section.
Pleasantly surprised and fairly delighted. And to give the D one more victory over the Borg a second time in 35 years ( beg pardon - 36 years from the time that Picard, Riker and LaForge's last visit on the bridge of the D !) of saving Earth and the Federation - that gave the NCC 1701-D a double distinction of this! Finally doing in the Borg as well!
@@RobertWilke Yep. It had earned its name! It was already the Titan II, and we could have a new series with a new ship - SNW has the earlier Enterprise. Grr. Feel bad for the Titan.
I think it being renamed Enterprise G was more to honor the original Constitution Class Enterprise than anything. It would have been a crime not to name a Neo Connie after the most famous of the original class.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very well executed and informatively explained in every detail way shape and form provided on this format and subject matter on the Enterprise-D and of its destruction to its recovery of the Saucer section and the rebuilding of it by using another 2nd dary hull and Nacelles and so forth indeed!.
"How many times has she managed to save the world?" "No doubt more than the years will allow three old men to remember." -- Geordi La Forge and William T. Riker, 2402
I am not afraid to admit, I had tears in my eyes from the moment she was seen in shadow, to the point she warped out of the system. I practically grew up with the ship, it felt more like home and family than any other.
with TNG to VOY era tech repairing the D should be easy, barely an inconvenience: replicators, transporters and holograms I would set up shop in a holodeck, route transporter and replicator control there, create some flashy gui and then send a cascade of holograms installing holo-emiters to let them do the jobs needed with beamed-in material while I coordinate, assign priorities, browse Barkley's recovered holo-library, delete Barkley's recovered holo-library
Possibly delete his holo-library...I kind of like the joke during the mission with Geordi where you board a Galaxy-Class where you need to access a panel in the holodeck...and it's implied that Barkley's become relatively famous/infamous by just about every group out there for the holoprograms he designed following his work with Zimmerman
It was wonderful to see the Enterprise D fly again... But, I know it would be amazing to see The Enterprise D and the Enterprise A fly together just once.
Apparently a lot of fans loved that they brought the enterprise d back... but I thought it was dumb (on the same level of the retrofit the titan went through and changing the designation.) Would have made a lot more sense for the saucer on the planet to be the core of a new colony - or just dismantled, since they went the route with the prime directive issue.
Seeing the Enterprise D in full up to date VFX with OG bridge crew doing crazy high speed maneuvers and slapping up the Borg tickled my nostalgia spot in just the right place. Honestly it made me so happy and turned me into a kid again. I think however we should let the old girl rest now, she has done her time and her resurrection to save the galaxy one last time was perfect. If they want to do more nostalgia bait then I would bring back the Enterprise E and pair it with Voyager. Seeing those two sleek ships fight side by side with the same treatment that the Enterprise D got in Picard S3 would be pure perfection for me and I would like nothing more than to see that.
The D is near the bottom of my favorite Enterprise designs but when those doors opened it was an unexpected and pleasant reveal. I gained a new appreciation for her especially when they were all reunited on the bridge. That moment when the lights were raised ranks high on one of Star Trek's greatest scenes. Admittedly I got a little misty
I know some fans thought it was sappy and predictable, but I was genuinely surprised and thrilled to see the Beautiful Enterprise D! Talk about Nerdgasm!! Commador LaForge is awesome! 🤘😁🖖🇨🇦
I haven't yet seen Pichard. But I was there in the movie theater when the original Enterprise D was lost back in Generations...it broke my heart, I was in complete disbelief. Still, the idea that the ship was "reborn" only half original, doesn't quite feel as good, as it is only half the original ship we all knew from TNG. But I guess half is better than none, afterall the stardrive portion of the ship was indeed completely destroyed to dust. However, the saucer section which included the main bridge was saved, and brought back, is nice to see 30 years later after I saw it destroyed in theaters.
New series idea " Star Trek Salvage " A good old boy tow outfit in a refit Connie updated with some more modern equipment ( hap haphazardly slapped together with duct tape and a prayer ) getting orders from Starfleet and Geordie on occasion to go rescue trapped ships. or to find specific components ( like a secondary hull for a galaxy class ) etc Kinda like a rough version of lower decks. That would be fun
Having collected Trek toys as a kid, seeing the 1701-D reappear after so many years was breathtaking. I may have shed a tear or two. I didn’t expect to see it back on screen again. Those old toys are somewhere in storage. Unfortunately, my son is a Harry Potter kid and doesn’t care for Trek. 😭😭
Making every person who is under 25 kill their superior officers kinda fuck up the entire starfleet. Also the last minutes of the show. You are gonna rename Titan-A to Enterprise-G? Have half of the bridge crew either a main character of a previous show or children of a TNG character? I love Seven as a captain and I would have loved her to command Titan-B, but that whole thing felt like whole fanfiction to me (the whole season did, but that part was fanfiction on steroids.)
I remember the first time I saw TNG and thought the D looked so ungainly compared to the original, but she grew on me and came to be a favorite. I was happy to see her fly again, I wish she had gotten to stick around for the other three TNG movies, but I did like the E as well.
So trilithium works by suppressing reaction in a star. I wonder if the Romulans were developing it for a different reason? Like maybe the Romulans knew that their star was going critical in a few years and that maybe they could use the trilithium to slow or stop the event that happened in the events referenced in the 'Star Trek'. Makes you wonder how things would have turned out if Soran hadn't stolen it . . .
Sorry but everyone on the Enterprise-D died in Generations, including Picard. Every Next Generation film is Picard having a dream in the rift, he is still there and no, the rift is NOT a time travel device. They are dead. The only way for them to be alive is that they are clones of the originals.
@@Folker46590 Kirk would have been the one in the rift. Picard only went into the rift because Soren stole the trilithium for his missile. They never went to the array, Geordi doesn't get captured, the Duras sisters don't attack the Enterprise, it never crashed.
The Romulans did discover Hobus was going nova, but they didn't have a great deal of warning. Certainly not enough to evacuate and relocate billions of citizens from Romulus and Remus. Help was also short in coming and the Vulcan science council flat out refused to help.
@@carlbruschnigjr1757 But that is not what the movie shows. It shows Picard going into the rift and dreaming. HIs body was destroyed, his spirit is in the rift along with Kirk's. Because of such terrible writing, I see none of the Picard stuff as cannon.
One way of seeing the E-D is to have Riker take over during the missing year, as a temporary assignment. We could easily have Riker as narrator while talking to his daughter, in the form of flashbacks.
Star Trek Picard was great and even more nostalgic for the return of NCC1701 D The making of the crash scene with the saucer section was amazing as was the final scene to watch.
I loved seeing the Enterprise-D again. I had a feeling it was going to happen when they were going to the fleet museum. It was just the right thing to happen when the rest of the fleet was taken over by the Borg.
I talked to Terry metalis and if I remember correctly he did Star Trek Picard. He actually said the entire Star drive section is from the Syracuse not just the engines.
What was great about this last battle is thanks to CGI you can actually see what this huge ship can do, we never had such a great scene during TNG. Obviously the budget would have been thrown out the window as well
thinking they towed it partly with tractor beams after they got it out of orbit, thinking the setup they did was to make sure they got the ship off planet intact, cause towing a ship with a tractor beam in gravity requires more power than one in space. SO pretty sure they were being EXTRA careful with the former flagship.
From my first sight of the Enterprise-D in "Encounter at Farpoint," I considered her design and aesthetics to be graceless and ugly -- all those windows made me think of a space-going condominium rather than a starship. Still I will admit without any reservation in the moment the "hangar" doors opened at the Starfleet museum to reveal her, I had tears in my eyes. The entire band had truly gotten back together at last!

Hey there, great video. However, I do have a question. On your video at time index 11:24 and 11:54 you see a close up of the Enterprise D. So how come there is no USS ENTERPRISE 1701D on the saucer?? Seems optical fogot something? It is not there in a few parts of the last 2 episodes of Picard either. Sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not. Hmmmmmm
I liked the attention to detail. When you see the old girl come out of warp you can see the port nacelle casing missing and also the contrast between the Syracuse star drive and the enterprise saucer the the scorch damage from entry of viridian 3
I quite honestly don't know why we need a video to explain how the Saucer was recovered. The theatrical release of Generations has a scene right at the end of the film where an Oberth class, Nebula Class and another Starship I can't remember the class of (it's been what? 30 years?) towing the saucer section out of the atmosphere but it seems there's been some kind of collective amnesia over this.
Not afraid to admit I had to fight the tears when I saw the original crew on the original enterprise D again - it was like I was back watching TNG on a Tuesday night on bbc2 when I was 10 again

Geordi: "...after all she's always taken good care of us."
I fondly remember the episode where she got pregnant. A judicious application of Vertiform particles, and she gave birth to- something.
The giddiness I felt when they revealed the D was so overwhelming, I couldn't contain it. It was almost embarrassing. My wife joked she was married to a thirteen year-old. I didn't care. I felt like I - WE - had come home again.
Sorry but everyone on the Enterprise-D died in Generations, including Picard. Every Next Generation film is Picard having a dream in the rift, he is still there and no, the rift is NOT a time travel device. They are dead. The only way for them to be alive is that they are clones of the originals.
Except Picard did enter the rift, did change time and stopped Soren from launching his rocket in the second fight with Kirk. @@Folker46590
And then you took her to the Barbie movie to make her also 12 again? ;)
@@acmenipponair Actually, she didn't want to see Barbie. She wanted to see Insidious: The Red Door. So I took her to that.
@@Folker46590 No they were just kidding.
I had a grin from ear to ear and crying like a little baby. It was just so damn awesome!!
I love the fact that they found a use for the Prime Directive as being the reason for retrieval.
Same. It's normally a problem for them to get around, this time it actually made something good happen.
My favourite enterprise, no bloody A, B, C, E, F or G
While I do agree, The enterprise E has a place in my heart too. I loved it's sleek design and it just felt like a beast in combat and was so agile for its size. Would love to see the E return. But you are right the Enterprise D is by far the best and most iconic. In my opinion at least.
You forget the J 🤣
@@Snowwie88 I'm pretty sure that was on purpose... *_NO ONE_* wants to remember the J.
1701 Refit always the one.
Oh cry a river. If all you care about is D...well...you make no sense since you cannot have D without A, B, or C.
It was great seeing the ship again, but it was seeing the bridge that hit me in the feels.
The technical manual specifically stated that the aerodynamic and impact stresses would ensure the Saucer would be damaged beyond repair.
They treated her like a Lady, and she always brought them home.
I was gonna skip the crash explanation then decided to watch it. Glad I did. The shots of Star Fleet recovering the saucer section was very cool!
The Enterprise D couldn't have gotten a better fate:
Instead of sitting on some lonely planet, rusting away and succumbing to the elements, or in some junkyard, Geordi La Forge to it upon himself to restore his old ship, and as circumstances required it to go on one final heroic mission, the old TNG heroes did just that, cementing the Enterprise to the Fleet Museum in a place of honor where she will be visited and admired for Generations to come.
All we need to add to the Fleet Museum are USS Defiant(NCC-1764), USS Bozeman (NCC-1941), and Enterprise-C....
@@jermainelaxuma2621 Enterprise C was destroyed by the Romulans, while defending a Klingon outpost. This act of bravery and sacrifice would lead to the khitomer accords, and the treaty between the former enemies.
@@zoltankelemen5526 If that was the case, why did it crossed into the alternate future? I would had accepted the Enterprise-C being destroyed had Yesterday's Enterprise not crossed over. @@jermainelaxuma2621 Yes it crossed over thus changing the timeline so that the Federation & Klingon Empire were enemies instead of allies, but it also crossed back over to the original timeline & fought like the devil to try to save the colony but it was destroyed in the process, thus earning the respect of the Klingons & setting the timeline back to the original .

That was awesome! It was great to see the D again, among a few things I love best about the final season of "Star Trek: Picard."
Seeing the Enterprise D again was the perfect way to end that series, rewarding us for having to sit through those previous 2 horrible seasons beforehand.
I nearly cried when I saw the D. I'm so glad they brought it back. The Galaxy class was one of my favorites, if not my favorite. There's something I really loved about that wide hull and curves.
U cry when u see the d?
The curvy one.
@@hackman669 not when every other vessel that was under borg control normally operations resume we see other Starships in service again a reconstructed space stock I doubt it probably another Odyssey class starship was the flagship in the enterprise-d returned to the Starfleet Museum where Geordi continued his restoration work that's what's inferred

People would get used to comfortable quarters and bright lights!
On another note, when I saw that Deanna took the helm again, I about had a stroke....fearing that she would once again crash the ship into something and Geordie would have to start all over again! lololol
Enterprise D coming back was total fan service. The entire series was and it was nicely done.
Geordi's dedication to restoring the Enterprise D shows just how much he loved that ship. can't imagine how he felt watching 2/3 of it being destroyed. #PoorStardrive
and that he was partially responsible...
The Galaxy Class is a lot tougher than we realized.
@@wendigos_eat_people7177 It's as tough as the script needs it to be.
Like 60% of the dreadnought assuming they just stuck the saucer on a dreadnought donor drive section.....
I completely agree with you.
The dreadnought was from an alternate Q generated timeline though, so that wouldn't of made any sense
That would've been so cool.
@@ExcelsiorGamingUKbut still a possibility
Seeing the D come back made me cry. I didn't think I could get that emotional over seeing it again, but damn.
In the words of another Enterprise Captain, 'My friends we've come home'.
Going through the ICYMI and right off the bat, thank you for not making the crack that Dianna is responsible for the destruction of the Enterprise saucer section.
Seeing the Enterprise D was bloody amazing!! Made me very happy! I would love to see the Enterprise D again
They should never have renamed the Titan the Enterprise G. It would have been cool for the D to be upgraded to the All Good Things Model.
True but the E was already destroyed, even if it wasn’t Worf’s fault. I do agree though the Neo Constitution Titan should have stayed the same.
"How many times has she managed to save the world?"
"No doubt more than the years will allow three old men to remember."
-- Geordi La Forge and William T. Riker, 2402
I am not afraid to admit, I had tears in my eyes from the moment she was seen in shadow, to the point she warped out of the system. I practically grew up with the ship, it felt more like home and family than any other.
with TNG to VOY era tech repairing the D should be easy, barely an inconvenience: replicators, transporters and holograms
I would set up shop in a holodeck, route transporter and replicator control there, create some flashy gui and then send a cascade of holograms installing holo-emiters to let them do the jobs needed with beamed-in material while I coordinate, assign priorities, browse Barkley's recovered holo-library, delete Barkley's recovered holo-library
I was happy, because it made sense and filled the show with hope just as TNG was always about.
It was wonderful to see the Enterprise D fly again... But, I know it would be amazing to see The Enterprise D and the Enterprise A fly together just once.
Apparently a lot of fans loved that they brought the enterprise d back... but I thought it was dumb (on the same level of the retrofit the titan went through and changing the designation.)
Would have made a lot more sense for the saucer on the planet to be the core of a new colony - or just dismantled, since they went the route with the prime directive issue.
I'm not trekkie by any means, but the Next Generation Series is easily one of the best shows ever.
I had absolutely no clue of its return, prior to seeing the episode, I was in a complete state of shock seeing it. Its reveal was brilliant.
Its incredible that they actually recovered it. A super nerd told me they likely used a couple of Nebula class ships to do it based on canonical.
Junk Trek
The first appearance of the Fleet Museum in "The Bounty" moved me to tears.
I will say this.. It was good seeing the old D back in action again. She needed her last hurrah and she got it in Picard.
It was good to see that Galaxy Glass ship again. Picard S3 fixed everything.
I really enjoy hearing abbout Enterprise D Saucer was Recovered. Great send for the Enterprise D.
I'm so glad they went back for the Enterprise D
I remember the first time I saw TNG and thought the D looked so ungainly compared to the original, but she grew on me and came to be a favorite. I was happy to see her fly again, I wish she had gotten to stick around for the other three TNG movies, but I did like the E as well.
So trilithium works by suppressing reaction in a star. I wonder if the Romulans were developing it for a different reason? Like maybe the Romulans knew that their star was going critical in a few years and that maybe they could use the trilithium to slow or stop the event that happened in the events referenced in the 'Star Trek'.
Makes you wonder how things would have turned out if Soran hadn't stolen it . . .
That's actually pretty interesting. I never put that together until now.

I was far more excited and happier than I thought I would be when they reveal the enterprise day. The ship is not my favorite, but it was cool to see.
Star Trek Picard was great and even more nostalgic for the return of NCC1701 D
The making of the crash scene with the saucer section was amazing as was the final scene to watch.
I loved seeing the Enterprise-D again. I had a feeling it was going to happen when they were going to the fleet museum. It was just the right thing to happen when the rest of the fleet was taken over by the Borg.
BRAVO!!!!!!! You are funny, THIS WAS GREAT FOR US STAR TREK NERDS.
I talked to Terry metalis and if I remember correctly he did Star Trek Picard. He actually said the entire Star drive section is from the Syracuse not just the engines.
Cheers Adam. Brace for impact.
Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding.
What was great about this last battle is thanks to CGI you can actually see what this huge ship can do, we never had such a great scene during TNG. Obviously the budget would have been thrown out the window as well
Easiest way would be a tractor beam most likely
thinking they towed it partly with tractor beams after they got it out of orbit, thinking the setup they did was to make sure they got the ship off planet intact, cause towing a ship with a tractor beam in gravity requires more power than one in space.
NCC 1701 D was our generation Enterprise, so I loved to see her again!
"🤔 That Enterprise flying through that Borg Cube reminded me of the Return of the Jedi, when they went into the new Death Star, and destroyed its reactor. 🙃" (-James)
I am in tears when it showed up! Happy tears.
I would like to see the Enterprise D again
For myself, NCC-1701/D was and still is my favorite incarnation of the Enterprise.✌️😎
Seeing the D come to life made me cry as I grew up with TNG... Next moving thing was Scoty getting to see the bridge of "NCC-1701 No bloody A,B,C or D...."
Great explanation thank you
I think they raised the saucer section using dirigibles into upper atmosphere, then guy lines handed off to gormaganders to pull the hull into space.
I liked how there was still the burn scarring on the front of the saucer section from the Generations crash in Picard.
Hmmmmmm
It's there, but the reflective surface is washing it out.
I Loved it!!! 😊 yes I would like to see it again
This was great!!! Thank you!!!!
I liked the attention to detail. When you see the old girl come out of warp you can see the port nacelle casing missing and also the contrast between the Syracuse star drive and the enterprise saucer the the scorch damage from entry of viridian 3
When Geordi said he had ‘drones’ helping my mind first went to Borg drones? Before realizing what he really meant. 😅
I think you’re thinking of something else. Generations does not contain that scene haha.
- Jack
I remember it as ships coming in to help recover the crew, but then again they could all have just been beamed up, right?
how did Geordi La Forge rebuild the Enterprise?
He added breakdown cover to the insurance.
Not afraid to admit I had to fight the tears when I saw the original crew on the original enterprise D again - it was like I was back watching TNG on a Tuesday night on bbc2 when I was 10 again
I cried when Geordi show the ship to the crew. My favorite scene 🖖
5:00 - the Miranda-class spacecraft that was part of the rescue mission was the USS Bozeman NCC-1941 and I wonder if Capt. Bateson (Played by Kelsie Grammar) was still in charge.
i traveled back in time to the 90's when the D returned :)
What have we learned? Geordi is a gearhead. That is his classic car restoration and we all win because of it!
Seeing the D in action and kicking A@S was just incredible. And yes, it would be nice see her again in Legacy, because I am sure Jordie would keep her ready to go for a spin around the quadrant.
