I just wanted to thank you for sharing your ideas. I did my first attempt at weathering and it looks awesome. Don’t get me wrong, I made a few mistakes. Some, I was able to call good mistakes others, I would not do again on my next one. I wish I could show you what you inspired.
Thanks for the instructional vid... I've just finished the ProLine '66 F100 cab, using your methods. Worked out AMAZING. I will probably never do a shiny, crisply detailed body again... Wish you could see some pics...
fullspeeddesign I'd love to show you the truck... But not quite sure how... Got a good bit of work still to do on it, but the body same came out great. Thanks again... There's an RC related site called Magnatfied.... It's on there, in the "What did you do to your RCs today?" thread... Old rusty '66 F100 with a wooden stakeside bed on it...
I've put a quick vid on RUclips of the truck... next one will be similar, red, maybe a little less rusty, but this is the way to go for me from now on... now I'm doing a Power Wagon for my buddy. They say imitaion is the sincerest form of flattery...👍🇨🇦
Incredible job, much appreciation for uploading these extremely helpful videos! Nice use of the Dremel and the Xacto blade "scratching", never would have thought of that in a million years... (one minor mention - maybe a little more footage of the finished truck before fading out to the end of the clip, so we can appreciate them even more without them being hidden since RUclips puts preview thumbnails up on top of the screen at that point?)
Great video on doing that good job an I wish you would have just done it all with out speeding it up on all the best parts of grinding an shaping parts but none the less looks nice an I am trying my paint like this thank you for sharing your great video
Stunning work! I’m just about to paint a Proline F100 66 Ford cab, and you have changed my plan with it, I’ll try out your techniques now. I have also just started a ‘ground up’ build based on the VS4-10 chassis, that will be using the Mojave 2 four door hard body from RC4WD. I really didn’t know what colour to paint it, or if I should try and weather it, or not. You know I’m absolutely gonna try and use some of your techniques on that too! Thanks for taking the time to share 👍
Truck looks good. If u were to do over would u cut windshield completely out since u cut most of it any ways or would be more hastle to reattach compared to masking.Thx
Very cool, you Inspired me to paint my shell. I have a question. Do I need to use tamiya PS-12 silver also while adding the Tamiya PS-14? Or no? And why did you use it? 😮
amazing video !!! what an effect, wow ! Do you remember what cutting wheel did you used for your Dremel? Can't find it anywhere on Dremel site, and those EZ click wheels are just to thick for me :/
Thank you! That rust is made with real steel power and acid is used to activate it so you have to take precautions. Once it's done and dry you can protect it with varnish to avoid contamination. With pigment and salt you can have very realistic results too, takes a little more time and skills too ;-)
It depends of the quantity of salt you put, I like to put a little too much salt and leave some between the paint layers … it adds texture. If you sand down all the salt your paint will be flat … it coold be cool too, it just depends of the project. The best is to try on an old body or plastic bits you have left.
Thank you so much!!! I've got a Proline 1966 Ford F-100 Body for my new Arrma Granite 4x4 Blx and am wanting to make an old clunker farm truck and didn't know where to begin but thanks to you I now know, but could I use Tamiya Corsa Gray instead of yellow?
If you mean around 4:00 before applying the salt … no. With the spray I have various sizes of drops. I don't want water allover the surface, neither too regular.
Sehr, sehr geil !!! Im Vergleich zu der roten Karosse ... ein anderes Level ... Respekt und Danke für die Inspiration ... Tolle Arbeit. Gruß Robert

Particle Man Thank you sir!
@@fullspeeddesign did you brush the salt off when the paint is wet or dry?
@@drummerdad80 Brush the salt when it's dry, otherwise paint will spread and soften the effect
@@fullspeeddesign thanks!

It would’ve been impressive if you were able to get the same results painting the RC body correctly from the inside...
Matthew Fox no problem, just a little more work on it 😀
Badass
Thanks
Epic!!
Hi can you confirm the paint colours used? I couldn't tell from the video. Great work!
Thank you! Inside colors Tamiya PS-12, PS-14. Outside PS-6, PS-55
Impressive happy new year

Bonjour, superbe travail !!
Pour la base de fer , il y a plusieurs teintes vous prenez laquel fer , or , bronze, argent ?Merci d'avance
Merci ! Je mélange les 2, silver un peu partout et bronze aux endroits que je souhaite rouiller
Awesome work man!!Where did you get the windshield frame?? Please
Thank you Brian, I've cut the windshield frame in a thin sheel of steel.
amazing video !!! what an effect, wow ! Do you remember what cutting wheel did you used for your Dremel? Can't find it anywhere on Dremel site, and those EZ click wheels are just to thick for me :/
Thank you! The cutting wheel is not from Dremmel, it came in an accessoiries kit from a cheap brand, I don't remind the name.
@@fullspeeddesign thank you, keep up the great work! :)
When you sprayed the first over layer did you let it dry before brushing it off?
Yes, otherwise paint sticks and leaves traces.
Great work and series! Inspirational!
About that rust, is it harmful as the natural rust?
Thank you! That rust is made with real steel power and acid is used to activate it so you have to take precautions. Once it's done and dry you can protect it with varnish to avoid contamination. With pigment and salt you can have very realistic results too, takes a little more time and skills too ;-)
Awesome paint job , really love what you did , where did you get the window frame ???
Thank you Daniel! Window frame is cut out of a thin steel sheet
What are you using to draw lines in between the body lines? Pencil, pen, marker?
I see that you painted over the salt did you sand till most of it was gone?
It depends of the quantity of salt you put, I like to put a little too much salt and leave some between the paint layers … it adds texture. If you sand down all the salt your paint will be flat … it coold be cool too, it just depends of the project. The best is to try on an old body or plastic bits you have left.
nice work, is the front window custom made
Yes, I've cut that part in a 1mm thick steel sheet
I love this. So well done. How well could it be made to stand up to actual use on the trail? Anything good to cover it with?
Thank you! As is it's not built for heavy hard rock crawling, more luke realistic cool riding
No. This technique only works with yellow. Its impossible to change the colour.
Very nice! So you use a pencil to outline the doors?
Yes a simple graphite pencil. You can erase it if you make a mistake 👍
Where did you get the window trim for the windshield bud I need one
The WICKED vaper Vape reviews I did it myself, cut in a thin steel sheet 👍
What is this background music? It gives me Tool vibes.
Babylon - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod :-)
Did you do something to break the surface tension of the water?
If you mean around 4:00 before applying the salt … no.
With the spray I have various sizes of drops. I don't want water allover the surface, neither too regular.
