      Yet, I highly doubt any of them could beat former CJI Dipak Mishra.
      Here is an extract from a judgement he once wrote:
      _This batch of writ petitions preferred under Article 32 of the Constitution of India exposits cavil in its quintessential conceptuality and percipient discord between venerated and exalted right of freedom of speech and expression of an individual, exploring manifold and multilayered, limitless, unbounded and unfettered spectrums and the controls, restrictions and constrictions, under the assumed power of 'reasonableness' ingrained in the statutory provisions relating to criminal law to reviver and uphold one's reputation._

    To be honest, as a BJP supporter, most Indians want liberal laws . However, we also want our culture to be preserved, nurtured and showcased. At the present and in the present , Hindu culture has been demonized everywhere in media , in academics ,etc. These things need to change and India need to own up to its culture. It doesn't mean we want other cultures to be removed. The more the merrier .

      @Donnie Darko you seem to try and beat around the bush. Shashi tharoors arguments made more sense relating to the events happening in India now like more communalized as the PM himself has prolonged silence after such Lynchings which is first time it's even happened in India, even Vajpayee used to condemn Communal incidents immediately despite being from same party.
      It looks like you need to see listen both speakers properly to know what I mean now.

    • @Ahmed-vw3iw
      @Ahmed-vw3iw 5 лет назад +8

      @Donnie Darko you are either really stupid Or you trying to prove to me that Bjp/Rss and Modi don't have any communal agenda- even to suggest the latter is really foolish of you to do that because everyone knows including Modi supporters that they want to implement Hindutva rashtra. Rss is anti Muslim clearly and continously spread hate, lies and violence against Muslims. It's like you telling me Nazis were not bad and they didn't promote hatred loll...Human rights international, Amnesty gave declared Rss is Radical Hindu organization who doesn't believe in equal rights and status of Minorities in India. So don't try to fool me here and you get some basic logic in your brain.
      Modi is a big actor, we know very well he allowed the Riots in 2002 to happen for 3 days because it was a part of polarization campaign of Bjp/Rss politics...Curse of God Almighty is on the Murderers and terrorists irrespective of their religion they claim to follow because no religion allows killing of Innocents

    Very well said Mr Dasgupta, 1) The constitution is essentially a rule book 2) Its subject to changes and modifications 3) It has been subjected to manipulations and frauds (eg articles 370, 35 A). So, this constitution cannot be sacrosanct, it cannot override the voice of it's people today.
    So, let's not get over obsessed about this book. The living nation and the strong voices coming from it today are more important than this book.

      Zara dekhiye-We must stop this hate mongering by upper caste Hindus. We must bring about Ambedkar’s and Gandhiji’s freedom struggle 2.0 with some variant of NYAY and rule of law and true constitutional democracy. Supreme Court said demolition was illegal and wrong. I have read 1045 page ruling. However, they were afraid bloodthirsty RSS goons who would go around killing as they did in Feb in Delhi. My Dad was a freedom fighter and a Pol Sc Professor. He passed away at age 96 in March 2020. We lost everything in partition. My grandfather was killed. But we were brought up secular. My parents were so proud of independence throughout their lives. This vengeful, entitled group of Hindus is really hard to stomach.
      Please give 10-30 minutes of your time. Professor Shanti Swarup, 96, teaches Secularism 101... Various good people are muddying the waters about secularism. In my humble view, conceptually and in very simple terms, secularism was something consciously adopted and accepted by people who were tired of civil war and killing each other. It is why Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Ambedkar, Maulana Azad pursued it for India even if it was formally added into the constitution later. It is the same with the concept of democracy, and the concepts of liberty, fraternity, equality. The whole idea of a constitution. Secularism was never something, anywhere in the world, that people developed or accepted spontaneously. People accepted it because they were tired of hate and wanted to improve their lives and live in peace. People various religions practice their religions privately. In a new democracy, secularism is supposed to be superimposed on various religious groups so they can live together peacefully within one territory and pursue other objectives such as healthcare, food, education, competing with other powers like China. Why are people in India going down the rabid path of looking for cultural causes of the failure of secularism--this is only going to muddy the water further so we make things worse, not better. We have to create a common vision for India together. Yes, reversing Shah Bano judgment was a big mistake for which we have been paying a heavy, heavy price. But we need to move on towards a more perfect union. This why USA, UK, Australia, etc have pursued secularism and they are also trying to move towards a more perfect union. It is why India chose secularism and we must continue to pursue a more perfect union. It is the crux of the point that my father, Professor Shanti Swarup, was covering in his videos here. Please do give a few minutes of your time to review the issue of secularism, specifically as discussed in the videos. Thank you. Dhanyawad. Hindu-ness/Bharatya-ness is befitting to India than Muslin-ness/Islam-ness. We don't need remote cultures and ideologies, imposed upon us through extreme violence and destruction, to identify any aspect of us. What sustained us as a civilization for so many thousands of years is far more worth preserving than moving away from it for short-term political gains by minority appeasement and fighting invented battles against violation of minority rights. Our tradition is so remarkably different from the so called "men of book" tradition that assimilation were not possible for over thousand years. Islam's short-lived golden age ended about 800 years ago and now it's in the throes of radicals that trains its children to aspire for become suicide bombers in global jihad. Huge chunk of people in the predominantly Christian Western democracies are becoming atheists every year. No knowledge based society can, in sound frame of mind, accept the complete hegemony of one book, created by divine intervention of inspiration, over all their affairs. Our deep tradition will never allow us to surrender or dilute our ethos for this kind of utter nonsense. Minorities in India need to respect our tradition and make sincere effort to be part of it, instead of engaging in the age old habit of stretching the toleration limits of the numerical majority in the name of protecting rights which were never lost and which will always be protected in our secular democracy.

Abrahmas, instead of playing victim card for no reason should accept that they are not alienated in India and conversion doesn't make them white or arab!Nobody is asking them to convert back to hinduism but they should def stop being proxies of anti india forces! They should understand that they will also be harmed if India goes into civil war or any kind of mishap! Delaying india's development and choosing the wrong government would cost them too! No vetican or arab will come to help india's christians or muslims.Hindus hv accommodated every kind of ppl since forever,secularism and liberalism are hindus' basic nature unless triggered! So all i'm saying is,they need to stop playing on victimhood and start thinking of developing thr motherland(if they consider India thr own),fighing all the anti india forces to make a better India!
