Be mad at Van Halen for that one. It has nothing to do with the label not wanting to release it and nothing to do with fans not wanting it. Mr. Big just listened to their Japanese fans and provided it. That gives me more respect to Mr. Big.

In my book, if you don't have over at least 1,000 albums, then you're still a rank amateur -- like me! I don't take singles/45s/EPs into consideration since some collectors have amassed a ton of them and others are not that into them and, therefore, have relatively few.
Best rock box set ever….a contender must surely be the mammoth 73-CD edition of Europe ‘72 by the Grateful Dead. Every show from the tour is included in what is an astonishing package. Jaw dropping.
I enjoyed this so much, I’ll go and check out part 1 next. Box sets have always been my weakness. Something about the packaging and the exclusive material of outtakes, live etc. recordings always get me. In my collection I think I had about 160 something box sets, but due to a tsunami of life events I had to sell most of my music collection. But I still love it all. Thank you for sharing yours here on RUclips as it fills me with the kind of joy I had going through my own collection. ☮️

I think the most fun box I had was Have A Nice Decade with the smiley face carpeting on the cover, and they did a great job of the flipping cd holders on that one, and excellence all around would be Ghost On the Canvas by Glen Campbell on Surfdog Records released just as it was announced he had Alzheimers. Great memorabilia inside, including a hand signed photo, but the outside cover had a leather belt with an elaborate ornate belt buckle closure. I know these are not in your preferred genres, but I was a sucker for the box itself. ☮️
This makes me happy/sad. Happy that I have a ton of these sets that you have and we both get the same joy from owning them...but it's sad because every single one of mine are in storage now (traveling)... apart from the new one's, like Who's Next, that I shouldn't have bought, but I can't help myself either ;-) Keep up the great content coming, and that collection growing, Brendon!
I always have so much fun with them. Plus it’s nice to hear alternate versions when the originals get too worn out at times because they’re always overplayed on radio, etc.
Heaven and Earth is awesome. The live material is very well curated, and it was interesting to dig further into the Projekcts. Saying it's 24 discs doesn't even quite capture it all since there's so much extra stuff on DVD. On & Off the Road is quite awesome as well, not quite as packed with material but, as you noted, that was such a great period in their history.
You probably mean a 2,000 sq ft house. Not 200... that would be a real downsizing. That's awesome. I did downsize from 2,300 to 1,870 sq ft. So I'm feeling some pain in setting up my vinyl and cd collection. I hope you're happy with your new space.
Yes…definitely meant 2,000….I’m loving the added space. There was no blank wall space in my old apartment. It was all taken up with thinks against the wall trying to find enough space to store things. But now I can really spread out.

I did the same move two from the city. So much stuff was packed away I forgot what I had. It's great to finally have enough space to lay the collection out. Now you have to build some shelves.

I like that you have the simple versions of CDs in addition to box set. I do that too because getting the original CD out of box set can be cumbersome and risk wear and tear on the box set
For me it’s also about packaging. Often times the one in the boxset doesn’t come in it’s own packaging and is just a disc. Or if it does have packaging it’s just a cardboard sleeve. So I like to get the standard single disc edition too. I don’t do it for them all but just on favorites.
I imported the Super deluxe Wildflowers box set from the US för a shitload of money. It took so long to get it over here that I bought the standard box set while waiting. Then when the extra CD was released I bought it too to accompany the standard box set :)
Haha…I first bought the standard 4 CD boxset. Then loved it so much that I wanted more so I bought the super deluxe 5 CD from the website just for the one CD! The crazy things we do for our love of music!
Some wonderful pieces in there, love the War of the Worlds & Eddie Archives box sets. From your collection i gather you are a U2 fan, they seemed to blow up really big in the states. I am from Ireland & don't really care for them, some of their stuff is ok but each to his own as they say. Wonderful collection, hope we get to see more.

Thanks to your album release schedule for July I pre-ordered the Elton John CD you mentioned. As soon as I heard you mention that I was on Amazon reserving my Copy. I knew that wound get a release at some point.
I was a huge fan when it first came out.. got my whole family watching it getting together to watch every episode together. Then I got bored...too many filler episodes. It had a Strong start but I felt there were too many characters killed off as well. I get it but it seemed excessive..But that doesn't mean my opinion is right. I just wish they did like 2-3 seasons and have more solid episodes. That's how I felt about "The last of us" television series... Loved pretty much all the episodes but it kind of dragged at the end. With that being said.. that set looks really well done. Love when they give you that heavy cardboard. Good stuff✌️

Have emailed support at Discogs but not a peep from them other than a email back about how support did. Smfh about it as been in contact with vendor who is holding set until Discogs clears it. Got ahold of PayPal and my Visa provider as PayPal has charged my credit card but can't get any reply from Discogs. Never had an issue with Discogs but have lost my religion on Discogs as their support is nonexistent to say the least. You ever had an issue like this from them? Thanks for letting me rant to you.

What’s disappointing with The Wall Immersion box is that PF in their infinite wisdom did not include the film versions of Mother or What Shall We Do Now?.
Listened to old bands? Like earlier than the Beatles and Doors? Not really. The type of rock that I enjoy started in the mid to late 60’s. As a child of the 80’s I’m already going back 20 years earlier than what I grew up on.

I think George Michael was a great singer but I have never been able to get into any of his music, either solo or with Wham! What other people find beautiful or soulful, I find very bland; his upbeat pop material I find very irritating. He’s one that’s not for me either.
Sorry a lot of these box sets lately are nothing more than money grabs; the Blondie box set comes to mind as well as the 4 disk EJ MMATW 50th anniversary for $200 bucks. I agree if it’s a band or and a performer I really like all good Sade Def Leopard Queen Billy Joel but other then that not interested
Obviously you should only buy ones you really like. But for all those bands you’re not interested in, there is someone out there right now saying the same thing about the bands you’re willing to spend money on. And if there is content, how can it be a cash grab? With how little these bands make from album sales today they should get all the money they can from any past works to make up for it.

Depeche Mode's Sounds of the universe boxset is unique : documentaries, goodies... demos ! they've done it just once.
They did a superb job indeed! But my fave is the boxset Mode which has 4 CDs of b-sides and outtakes.
