My biggest galjoen on the West Coast is 42cm.

Hi Glenn. The rod is a 12ft 2oz blue marlin fire series and the reel a Daiwa Certate 5000 with 20lb braid

​@@thebeardedfisher I visit Doringbaai once a year and drive past Strandfontein. Never tried fishing there. Heard the locals catch mostly hotties off the cliffs/ rocks not so safe though. Trying to figure out where this spot is, I'll check Google maps. Do you get steenbras there too?

@imtiyaz awesome man. You get Galjoen along that whole stretch. I have only seen steenbras caught at Lambertsbaai a long time ago. I recon they should be there.
