He's literally shaking. I assume that he didn't really expect to win. God bless Eddie Redmayne. I hope he'll continue to be an amazing actor that he is now.
PhlegmDeNeige Yeah, I know, but still I think Ben is a gentleman simply in every situation (Ed Sheeran said that Ben is a gentleman even when he's drunk, so... :P), and I'm pretty sure he would stay classy even if the winner wasn't his mate :)
***** Those are Ed's, not mine, words. Maybe not 'drunk' but 'after a few drinks' is more accurate. Sorry, my english isn't perfect and I've had a little trouble in writing it properly.
He was utterly superb in this role. I loved it. I still can't get over how much I love the whole movie. Eddie and Felicity have pure talent. And his speech is beautiful. He seems extremely talented and intellectual.
People keep on saying that Micheal deserves it more than Eddie. C'mon! Eddie won those awards because he really transform himself and not play an exagerated version of himself.
Keaton robbed. Anyway, Mickey Rourke won the BAFTA & Golden Globe Best Actor and still lost at the Oscars. Maybe justice will still be done by Birdman.
ALAN BROWN No, Keaton said Eddie winning would be fine because he thought Eddie was incredible in the role. Nowhere did it suggest he thought Eddie was head & shoulders above him. Which Eddie wasn't. The Hawking role is a more obvious showcase for acting with it's chronological progression of a character. But what Keaton did was bottled lightning, full of intangible beats - playing out a raw, exposed psyche. We've seen stuff on the lines of "The Theory Of Everything" before. But it is Keaton's film that will be remembered and revered 20 years from now.
I think that Eddie truly deserved this award, just because of how he transformed himself into Stephen. Amazing performance. I don't know what will happen in Oscars, but if he will win, I will be happy, because he deserved it.
If he wins an oscar I will cry with joy. He is a true inspiration to our generation. The way he portrayed Stephen was mind blowing, out of this world. What a true inspiration.
Eddie redmayne so deserves this award!!!!!! His performance in the theory of everything was incredible!!!!! So deserved!!! Hopefully he will also win the Oscar!
omg this was amazing, Eddie totally deserved to win!! his acting blew my mind, I never knew he was so talented! his speech was so sweet and sincere, he seems like such a nice guy! and a total hottie
Eddie! I just saw the movie and I gotta say, this was the most spectacular acting I've ever, ever seen. You deserve every bit of success and recognition you get and so much more. I love your work, please never stop!
I'm sorry to sound like an ass. But just because Micheal Keaton is old doesn't mean he necessary deserve an Oscar more than Eddie redmayne. Stop coming to his page saying Keaton is robbed. Eddie redmayne deserves every bit of this. A rare talent
It’s been 3 years since this and I’m following the current oscar buzz and I STILL KEEP HEARING ‘so and so should win because they are overdue’. SO WHAT? IF THEY’RE NOT THE BEST, NO THEY DO NOT. It still brings tears to my eyes to remember the wonderful year Eddie had winning all his awards. HE DESERVED EVERY ONE.
I am so very pleased that Eddie won the BAFTA award for Best Actor for his great film The Theory Of Everything playing the leading role of Stephen Hawking, and me and my husband both watched the film on Sky, and it was absolutely amazing, Well Done Eddie for winning the award, you truly deserved to win.
I'm thrilled he won this award. I loved the movie so much and I think that Eddie Redmayne gave an incredible performance ! I hope he will win an oscar as well :)
aaww baby, so nervous :) Outstanding performance in the theory of everything, well deserved. Let's hope he gets that Oscar too! I see a great future for you, Eddie.
Eddie Redmayne is brilliant and beautifully eloquent , he actually tries very hard and studies before each roll , he educates , Michel Keaton is a fine actor Who has many good movies , Eddie Redmayne is brilliant. He deserves success and all the spoils that come with that.
Both He and Michael Keaton deserve the honor, any of them could win the Oscar and i would be ok with that. Because both performances have been well awarded. Keaton has won all of the critics and the Golden Globe while Eddie has won the SAG, also the Golden globe and now the bafta.
I swear that this human is too pure and precious for our world. Look at him, he's so nervous and i am so proud to follow him through his roles. Thank you Eddie for be you and do amazing things. You deserve it ! ❤❤
This film was amazing I loved it! It seriously increased my opinion of Eddie Redmayne I wasn't too sure if I liked him before this but Hawkins was brilliantly acted. Also love how much Benedict is cheering in the audience!
If they don't give him that Oscar, it will be a ridiculous disgrace to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not even a huge Redmayne fan or sth, to be honest I prefer Cumberbatch, but what he did in that movie deserves every award more than anyone else. Respect.
Dear Mr. Redmayne, I am not aware whether you realize the 'monumental' performance you have put in while playing the role of Dr. Hawking. Time shall stand testimony to the ' acting master class' you meted out to all and shall be recalled years from now. Thank you!!
I am hoping and praying to God that Eddie Redmayne will now win the Oscar for his incredible performance in The Theory of Everything please please PLEASE!!!! :)
i have seen very few performances as mindblowing as eddie's in this film. he deserves every award in the world, his dedication and effort are truly admirable ❤
I like that one better than the Oscar speech. But that's probably because he didn't seem to be paralized in shock at this one. Just normally shocked ^^
I loved to see Dr. Stephen Hawking smile. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity I applaud your talent. I love the Danish girl as well. I thought Eddie should have won the Oscar for that too as well as many other award. I love this speech. 👏👏
Couldn't agree more. Those who have seen a master like Daniel Day Lewis do this, kinda feel a bit like "been there seen that" about Redmayne. Now watching Keaton was the equivalent of an electric shock.
No one's talking about the difference in personality or the narrative, but the minutiae captured in the actor's performance. And leave out the personal attacks, it does not strengthen your argument.
***** Quoting you: "You have a very shallow perspective of disabled people" - sorry, but that is getting personal. Nowhere did I suggest that Eddie's performance was like Day Lewis'. I suggested that Day Lewis' performance was better. It was more lived in, with much more going on internally. This might be partly because "My Left Foot" is a far superior film in every way.
***** Here's my observation - you seem to miss the exact meaning of a sentence every time. We had stuck to discussing the film when you made a personal comment about me, to which I said you're getting personal - observation or attack is mere quibbling. Secondly, my comment (quoted above by you) clearly means that Day Lewis was better. You just don't seem able to grasp this for some reason.
***** Sorry, maybe you don't understand English phrasing at all. There is no other way to interpret it other than my meaning. It's plain as a zit on one's face.
He's literally shaking. I assume that he didn't really expect to win. God bless Eddie Redmayne. I hope he'll continue to be an amazing actor that he is now.
blacktulip welp so far he did☺️
you do realize that he threw up a few minutes ago that's why he is shaking right?
Eddie was great in The Theory Of Everything! The way he portrayed Stephen Hawking was inspirational! That BAFTA is well earned.
which was your impression when eddie won the oscar for best actor?
0:32 Mr. Cumberbatch showing class once more. Such a supporting, lovely man :)
They are actually very good friends so it's no surprise.
PhlegmDeNeige Yeah, I know, but still I think Ben is a gentleman simply in every situation (Ed Sheeran said that Ben is a gentleman even when he's drunk, so... :P), and I'm pretty sure he would stay classy even if the winner wasn't his mate :)

A british gentleman.
so proud of Eddie and the fact that Benedict was so supportive of his best friend, Eddie:) 0:32
Yeah I loved that too
Yeah :)
Look at how much his hands are shaking, he's so adorably nervous.
I'd be too
awww his hands were shaking so so happy for him he really deserves all the awards he was nominated for eddie is amazing:)
i love how his hands are shaking... it shows how happy and sincere he is
Eddie's little shaking hands my heart
He was utterly superb in this role. I loved it. I still can't get over how much I love the whole movie. Eddie and Felicity have pure talent. And his speech is beautiful. He seems extremely talented and intellectual.
People keep on saying that Micheal deserves it more than Eddie. C'mon! Eddie won those awards because he really transform himself and not play an exagerated version of himself.
How acceptance speeches should be !!
I totally agree!
He needs to win that Oscar, what he did was incredible, and no one deserve`s it more than he does, not even Michael Keaton.
Keaton robbed. Anyway, Mickey Rourke won the BAFTA & Golden Globe Best Actor and still lost at the Oscars. Maybe justice will still be done by Birdman.
I totally agree with you. Eddie Redmayne is a magnificent actor and he deserves that Oscar more than anyone else up in the running!
ALAN BROWN

Keaton should win the oscar. Redmayne is young and he can win the oscar anytime in the future.
***** keaton deserves it more for a more complex performance, all the british guy did was try his best to imitate someone.
awwe Stephen was smiling and aw Eddie's hand was shaking so much omg awe
I think that Eddie truly deserved this award, just because of how he transformed himself into Stephen. Amazing performance. I don't know what will happen in Oscars, but if he will win, I will be happy, because he deserved it.

Get Daniel Day Lewis in "My left foot" , for a truly astonishing handicap performance.

0:18 wtf is Voldemort doing here
What does the T in BAFTA stand for?
supermonkeyyyyyy Television. I believe it's British Academy of Film and Television Arts
