I feel so bad for all these people who are just minding their own business. Especially the old man that wanted to walk away. I'm glad that he didn't get hurt too badly.
Having grown up in a neighborhood known as a dumping sight for mentally ill people, I've come to realize that for as much as one can feel bad and want to help people in severe situations, you can only do so much, you don't know who's going to be violent or when they are gonna snap, for as much as I wanted to say "hey just help them" it's not that simple, you can't just throw money and shelters at the problem and call it a day
You are right, more than money you have to give time. And im not Christ-like enough to be out there everyday helping the modern lepers. And those who do help, man it must be depressing as hell, for real. A serious threat to your mental health. Sadly lost causes actually are a thing. Act as if not so but only to a point. Back to back days of seeing people decay rapidly no matter what you do. And you feel powerless because no govt. or org. or charity is gonna help you...and if they do it won't be enough.
Same. It may sound heartless but many times you as a bystander can't do anything, or need to keep yourself safe by keeping distance. You can't tell if a struggling person will lash out at you or worse. Sometimes there's nothing you can do, just hope they don't find some reason to fixate on you and move on.
Hey, I was homeless in NYC for many years. Sadly, there are many people like Mikel out there who have untreated mental illness and are prone to violent outbursts. Very little is done about it by the city, so they turn a blind eye to it. On the flip side, there are other homeless folks out there with serious injuries or health issues that can't receive care due to their homelessness complicating everything.
Most people don't because stepping in is how most people end up in the hospital or killed. So unless it is a severe situation, you really shouldn't step in because you will probably just escalate the situation further. I tried to do something similar and ended up getting a gun pulled on me. So. Yea. No. Do not help people in random quarrels that are none of you business because you don't even know which person is really in the right.
@@n0m4nic that’s called a confirmation bias. There’s good stories of people helping each other and bad stories of people helping each other. you specifically will choose the bad one so you can not help people and still feel good about it.
This was fascinating but sad. I'm very SURPRISED he was allowed to stay in the house CONSIDERING the cops went in & saw how broken the house was & the dude passed out (probably high) in the living room. So bizarre.
I’m sure this happens A LOT. Most police look at them as sub human and unless they are in a position where they have to act they will just let them be.
@@BrianKenney-ob5uv Yeah, to be fair it COULD be his place so there hands could be tied. If it's private residents it's not illegal to be high, just if drugs are about (but they shouldn't have been allowed in without a warrant which is likely why they didn't do anything as it's void).
@@infjmale91 wait, correct me if im wrong but i thought cops could come inside if a door or window is open? again, im not sure as im not from the states
Im a widow of a person with schizophrenia, so it's really warming to see someone remind everyone that schizophrenia doesn't make you inherently dangerous. Thank you ❤
My fiancee's ex is a schizophrenic. They stopped dating 15 years ago. We had to go to great lengths to hide our address because he'd relentlessly look for my ex. If he saw her in an area he'd walk the streets, EVERY street, hanging out in the convenience stores etc hoping to run into her. For the past 15 years of our lives this has been going on. We had him arrested NUMEROUS times. HE'S 100% DANGEROUS & IF I SEE SEE A PERSON DIAGNOSED AS A SCHIZOPHRENIC I'LL NEVER LET MY GUARD DOWN & I SUGGEST PEOPLE TREAT THEM AS THE DANGEROUS PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE! This guy would try to take people's cars thinking she was inside the trunk of it. He broke into a daycare looking for her. He thinks the FBI has kidnapped her. He'll act like your best friend then try to stab you to death thinking you're trying to stop him from finding his ex. I can keep going on with the bullshit this guy's done to by girl. I suggest that people avoid this type of person.
I know this guy. He actually used to live in our emergency shelter. For the sake of his safety and his health I'll decline to talk about specifics of location. But I did want to say, that my man went downhill. It was NEVER this bad for him. If I see him. I'll try to link him with services. It might have been a blessing in disguise that I saw this
This goes beyond mental health - the guy is clearly not neurotypical. And sincerely, there's nothing anyone can do for him, besides perhaps taking away his rights and putting him in some kind of Institution. And who the hell wants to pay for that? Society surely doesn't.
@@jessep5280 This DOESN'T go beyond mental health. If the US had an adequate public healthcare system, cases like these could be avoided. You "paying" for public healthcare, paying for people like HIM, would still cost less in taxes than paying for private healthcare AND guarantee less cases like that which are a burden to society.
@@afxdvsn Well, yeah, I agree with you - but that's not going to happen anytime soon in the United States. I'm talking realities, not philosophically. But nice moral grandstanding. And it does go beyond Mental Health. This guy clearly has a cognitive disorder and a social development disorder. And that's not due to poor mental health, that's due to literal *physical differences* between his brain and the neurotypical brain. I'm speaking about this as someone who is both autistic and has ADD. Mental health services such as therapy and medication can only do so much for these types of disorders. Even if we had Universal Health Care, it's no guarantee that this guy wouldn't be out there harming people or himself. Countries with universal healthcare still also have severely ill homeless people. Take a visit to Canada or the UK if you don't belive me.
I left a similar comment on your previous video and firstly I want to thank you for bringing more awareness to homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse issues that are far to common all over the country. I work for a larger non profit agency as a community and economic development specialist and this is a situation I regularly try to help individuals out of. This is such a common and growing problem, especially since the pandemic and I really hope bringing awareness to the situation may help. Great documentary, keep up the good work!! Love your channel!
I'm sick of "bringing awareness" to things. We have been "bringing awareness" to so much shit for so long. It seems like "bringing awareness" doesn't do anything. How about this, we are aware of this. Let's bring some action to our problems instead of awareness. "Bringing awareness" is like writing a to-do list and then getting high and watching sponge bob. Unless that was on your to-do list, you have accomplished fuck all.
@@GodbreadGilfredBiago I completely agree with your frustration. Action is 100% required in addressing these issues. A lot of people don't help in the fight against these issues. That is ultimately what "raising awareness" helps to combat. These issues are incredibly complex, and that is why those like myself work towards getting new legislation passed regarding subsidized housing, making sure those that are struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues have the resources available to get treatment (even if they won't use these resources), or to simply make sure everyone has food or blankets so they don't freeze to death in the woods. This is just the tip of the iceberg but something that everyone can do is either donate to their local non-profit or volunteer their time to help in the cause. "Raising awareness" could mean the difference in educating someone on the severity of the issue, which may lead them to researching how they can help and they could end up volunteering at a soup kitchen or a local shelter which so many of these facilities are short handed and depend greatly on volunteer work. I volunteer in my free time and donate directly from each paycheck, but I have a fairly close understanding of the problem and not everyone does. I totally agree though, more people should act.
I work at a public library in the "bad" side of a city, and this really is what it's like to deal with some people. Most of our unhoused patrons are fine and kind people just suffering from a bad situation, but there are cases of people who are clearly incredibly ill and need help they can't get and sometimes don't even realize they need. More needs to be done to help with poverty and homelessness. It will improve everyone's lives.
One of my friends, her daughter sounds an awful lot like this guy does after doing a bunch of meth and not sleeping for who knows how long. It was super unsettling to be around someone so erratic and unpredictable, but thankfully she never bothered me. Last I knew she was able to kick it, and she's back to her old self. Seems to realize how crazy she was and does not wish to return.
When you are waiting for Nexpo or Nick Crowley to release a new video but it didn’t happen, ScareTheater comes and saved the day! Thank you for entertaining me all these years! ❤❤❤
I hope children in that area know better and never have the chance to encounter him.... the way he beat and talk to that old man just gave me chills.... repeatedly saying that "ki" and his complete apathy over it makes me very worried about him and the community around him
It’s difficult to picture this guy taking a moment in the middle of incoherent rantings and impulsive aggression to prop up the phone so he could capture some of the 3rd person shots. Absolutely wild
I was able to find his Facebook from around 10 years ago and he was completely normal at the time, completely heartbreaking. I hope he gets the help he needs
Some people use the word “cat” to refer to people, so “Kitty” is probably a play on that. From what i’m gathering, the reason he attacked that old dude in the beginning is cuz he wanted him to tell that other old homeless dude to get out the house, but he didn’t and so Mikel beat him up
This is a disturbing case of how some people in the world are, They can be crazy and dangerous even when you least expect it, I feel bad for the people who got attacked by this guy who did it for no reason, I hope this dude gets help that he needs for his unhealthy behavior.
@@ki11aqueen5This guy definitely has some sort of mental disorder. If your implying people with mental disorders deserve solitary confinement in prison then your are extremely false in that statement and should revaluate your way of thinking.
I'm pretty sure Mikel was saying "kid", not "cat", when he was dealing with the cops. The fact that cops thought he said cat is moreso indication that he isn't fully paying attention or retaining what's being said.
He says "cat", "kitty" and "kitten" multiple times, though. That said, neither "cat" nor "kid" make any more sense than the other. His rambling is mostly incoherent nonsense.
@ScareTheater What you hear as "Cat" is actually "Kid", and "Kiddie". Also "Bando" is a homeless person's term for an abandoned house. So he is saying there is some strange, crazy kid in his regular abandoned house.
It’s incredibly sad and horrifying for everyone involved. As someone who takes meds for an anxiety disorder I can say that delusions are nearly impossible to “shake off” and believe that they are wrong. For someone with a more serious delusional disorder like schizophrenia there is just no way to convince them that they’re having delusions, and we must sympathize with how terrifying it is for them.
No it doesn’t. Imagine being afraid for your life and feeling like someone is going to kill you. That’s what a paranoid delusion feels like. It’s not active malice wanting to hurt people.
@@mistydayremainsofthejudgment it's not imagination if the person is clearly unhinged or has a weapon, etc. I'm not paranoid for taking a reasonable threat and being cautious of it
As someone who is bipolar, the judgement we get and people with schizophrenia get is horribly sad. These are both disorders, that are hard to fight but we are not trying to hurt others I’m grateful i can control mine but others are less unfortunate. It’s sad, this guy definitely has something and he isn’t getting help (mainly because of his finances)
Cases like this never fail to leave me heartbroken, thank you Eric for making content like this and being one of the most unique and distinct creators on the platform. You've never failed to make me smile throughout the years.
I have several mental illnesses and a personality disorder, I’m stable and sober now. I’ve met a lot of folks like him in my years (was also homeless for a bit). I think he has schizophrenia, he’s showing all the signs tbh. I hope and pray he is in a GOOD facility getting help, but I know the truth of the matter is we are in the US and he obviously doesn’t have insurance. So his future doesn’t look good sadly Also, thanks for bringing up about how most mentally ill people are victims NOT perpetrators! So many horror channels/podcasts have a tendency to vilify and fear monger about mentally ill folks
This guy was a clear criminal regardless of his illness. We need to stop condoning these people just because they have mental illness. Newsflash EVERYONE has some sort of mental illness. But normal regular people don’t go out and assault or threaten people.
This! This is my cup of tea! First Terry the Boozetube Taylor, now this tragic individual. There are thousands of channels like this one with no views, hopefully you'll continue to explore those. Not only they're weird and creepy, but you also bring awareness to mentall health and homelesness, and thank you for that. Where can I recommend you some of the channels like these? Used to watch them a lot a few years ago.
THANK YOU for the little blip about how people w schizophrenia disorders are more likely to be VICTIMS of abuse rather than be violent themselves like not a lot of people who make vids on people like this do that so its nice to see u did it. thank u
People with schizophrenia can also be violent. I have a cousin that is schizophrenic and she has random violent outbursts for no reason. She has hit me, other family members, attempted to grab a knife on her mom, broke things around the house. People who say schizophrenics aren’t violent haven’t been around one or have one in their family.
I have a couple friends with Schizophrenia. 99% of the time they're perfectly normal people, if a bit more suspicious of everything around them than normal people. The 1% is when they don't/can't take their meds for whatever reason, but I've never felt scared around them. Obviously I can't speak for every case, especially as an observer, but meeting those guys and only finding out later about their mental state really opened my eyes with regard to mental conditions in general, especially when I put it into the context of how people assume I am when they learn I'm autistic (although most people realise fairly early on, especially when they make the mistake of even mentioning lohistics and trains lol)
The best part is that nothing will be done. He can get arrested over and over again, but he will most likely never receive treatment. America is a dying country.
Do a video on JohnLaw_TV the psychotic guy who films and harasses homeless people believing that they’re all undercover LAPD agents who are all attempting to incriminate him. The most disturbing part is he films homeless people who are literally dying or overdosing while claiming they are police officers and is genuinely mentally ill and his entire channel is around him filming vulnerable people believing they actually are police officers who are stalking him and trying to frame him for crimes
Omg what?? I've never heard of this guy, but what you described sounds very disturbing. I want to know more, but I don't want to go on that channel tbh. That's a good video suggestion.
You should see what’s been going on with a man on the same level as Mikel called Daniel Larson. Dudes on parole rn & live-streamed himself pulling the fire alarm at an Olive Garden iirc(which is a felony) WHILE he was on parole meaning if he fucked up at all he’s getting booked. But when all was said & done he was let go & with absolutely ZERO charges which is fucking disgusting. These people get so many free passes & it’s all because the system doesn’t wanna deal with them so they’d rather let them disrupt the public & cause hell for everyone.
What are they supposed to do? Likely chance is none of the homeless people In That house at the moment of the beating were coherent with police and most likely it wasn’t the victim of the beating that called 911 it was probably a bystander that saw or heard something police show up with little info and are met with a bloody handed man screaming cat kid meow meow and don’t get any other information out of him or other people in the home honestly this is an unpopular opinion but in todays world if your a white cop that arrests a black man no matter what the reason is your hung in the streets as public enemy #1 so there was really nothing they could’ve done unfortunately.
@@Yourdad6996-v2 I don't think its is because of the race, and the guy had blood and was talking nonsense, but I imagine they can't do much without knowing exactly what happened, just looks suspicious, not sure how the guy would react to getting arrested to be honest
@@Yourdad6996-v2shut tf up man about race, I can clearly see which side on the issue you’re on, we want all races to be treated the same so unless he beats him to an inch of his life then arrest him then he’s not gonna be “publicly hanged” or whatever pussy shit you said
It's sad, but the police are not responsible for this. When I was homeless, they told me as much. That's why: Defund the police and invest in social work! Let the police deal with their own problems!
When he was saying cat and cat in the bando he means a addict in the crackhouse. I’m sure he was just on about the addict he beat up in the abandoned home We used to call crackheads cats and crackhouses bandos.
This case reminds me of a Brazilian channel called "ministerioetrom2", it has a bunch of videos recorded by a woman that just wanders the streets yelling and offending random people, I think she never physically hurt anyone, but she does harass people a lot. She often calls anyone or anything that is "hurting" her "nails", pretty much like the "cat" thing, and she also talks a lot about a guy called Saymon and says that he is the one sending those random people that she harasses for no reason. She has schizophrenia.
My cousin has schizophrenia and sadly, it makes me scared to be around her. She has random violent outbursts you never know when it’ll happen. She has hurt others and broke many things in the house.
@ki11aqueen5 yo keep yourself safe , never know what could happen. She probably won't be doing SERIOUS harm to anyone it's way better to be safe than sorry . If she has already done serious harm to anyone , for the safety of you and your family buy something to defend yourself and loved ones . Stay safe
It's a lot of people I know tbh. I have an aunt with severe substance abuse disorder. She's lost everything and I had to stop taking her calls and change my number. She used to call me at 3am high out of her mind. You gotta sometimes love people like that from a distance (I didn't meet her until I was 8 for the same reason; didn't know she existed my dad was trying to protect me) Unfortunately mental illness is genetic and I seem to have a streak of it bad enough that I needed hospitalization at one point. At least I got help tho.
It IS scary. Imagine your brain starts malfunctioning for reasons completely beyond your control, you can't behave in a way that's rational to other people, you can't stop yourself, and a bunch of youtubers are basically rooting for you to get killed instead of hoping that you get put in inpatient care to get the meds you obviously need before you hurt someone or yourself.
Thank you so much for the bit about how people with schizophrenia are more likely to be victims and less likely to be perpetrators. I have schizotypal borderpolar, and misinformation involving schizoid psychosis, bipolar disorder, and BPD hearing people assume I'm violent, or they call violence a mental illness has really impacted my life negatively. And it means a lot to see someone with a following who is saying the same thing I've been saying, thank you so much, you have no clue how much this meant to me.
can i just say, THANK YOU for saying that being schizophrenic doesn't make someone dangerous. as someone with their fair share of mental illnesses themselves, it always makes me feel seen to see people spread true information and destigmatize mental illness.
I work with people like this (in canada). It takes A LOT for people to be brought into mental health care against their consent. Risk of harm to self or others is often not enough. We often see our clients get brought to a hospital for a single night and discharged in the morning when they are more sober. Thank you for the blurb about people with schizophrenia not being aggressive, as its a common misconception. P.S. that face down man was most likely using opioids. Thats what happens- they get the nods. Not saying this in a judgemental way, just based on observation.
My father has a TBI from being run over at a young age. He's like 40 now and I don't see him often but a lot of his mannerisms and the way he acts is similar to this guys. I can't exactly say how he acts but the quickness to violence, sometimes random speech and when he put the phone up to "dance" and ramble is what made me think of him. It's very sad to see. At one point my family was in a homeless center in one of the worst city's in the state and we saw people act like this too it's truly sad how many live homeless in America not getting the MENTAL help they need.
It would DEFINITELY explain this guy's weird machismo obsession with fitness and picking fights with other people. He probably use to be more sane but got into a really rough brawl or had a nasty accident that damaged his brain and now he acts like... this I wouldn't be surprised if he left it untreated either cause he wasn't aware or was too prideful to seek treatment and tried self-medicating with narcotics that further damaged his mind
When it sounded like he was saying cat or kitty, I thought he was saying kid/little kiddie. He posted that one video with a description in 3rd person--I think there's a lot of unresolved trauma, and that he was used to being hearing about "that little kid" "that kid" if he messed up. Can imagine that disocciating in and out, him referring to a kid could be him talking about himself in third person. Just a thought--and this is so sad. Really wish something could be done about homelessness and mental health in America.
these stories are always sad and scary to see. thanks for bringing mental health awareness and giving comprehensive information on this situations. as someone who is mentally ill and disabled myself i'm forever grateful to have disability supports and i send all of my hope to those like mikel white who are struggling without it. im not a professional but mikel does seem to display symptoms consistent with schizophrenia or a similar condition, mania, or substance induced mental issues. i hope help comes to him before someone gets seriously hurt.
@allflashandnocontent How can they be able to accept help from others if their minds aren't in the right place. Their mental illness prevents them from trusting their loved ones or anyone else that wants to help them.
@@midirstormcat just wanted to say that especially in my country I would be seen as dangerous so it was nice to hear that not everyone thinks like that
I don’t typically take crazy as an excuse for people that are cognizant of only picking fights they are guaranteed to win. Someone completely insane will lash out at anyone regardless of consequences or winning/losing. Is he mentally healthy? Hell no but some of these people wrap themselves in a shroud of pseudo crazy to justify their actions or have their actions excused when it doesn’t turn out how they expected.
@@JFLTX Indeed he knows who he is picking a fight with. It's like part of the brain is crazy, and the other half is cognizant of all the actions he is doing.
Oh my God, I've had experiences with a junkie who behaves exactly like this when I worked in Church's Chicken. Same incoherent rambling, random giggling, etc. He nearly got into a fist fight with me out of nowhere asking me "Why am I saying I'm sorry" when I was just minding my own business wiping the windows. I legitimately got scared since I never know what these types of people are capable of, but fortunately some colleagues from work came over and tried to calm him down & play along with whatever bullshit he was spewing. Its partly the reason why I quit the job, since he kept roaming around and at times provoking me.
oh no you cant say that you're "dangerously stigmatizing" mentally ill people, they're NEVER violent (even though we just watched a mentally ill man assault people on camera) please dont stigmatise him
In one of the few videos he has left up, he is screen recording and goes to use his search bar, a few of the recent searches that pop up are "depressed" "depression" and "intermittent fasting" Hopefully he got some help and is doing better.
Cat is usually a slang for drug addicts, but it's mainly used in the UK. He might be calling random people "cats" because they are addicted to drugs in his mind.
Thank you so much for doing this video. During COVID I was homeless with my husband in Boulder Colorado. We got evicted in the first wave of people who lost their jobs. This easily became the scariest part of my life to watch unfold chaotically. Entire city shut down. The only people that we encountered were the homeless, extremely mentally ill and seemed like they were completely alone in the world. It opened my eyes to a lot of things that desperately need... Something, anything, not shoved aside and ignored until personally encountering one of them. Please don't talk shit to me about this I am legitimately trying to word this with my point being that I absolutely loved that you didn't bash him, you didn't even say anything negative about him, he was a person and he obviously needs some kind of help. It didn't have to get to the point that he was dangerous. Bringing awareness to this particular side of things is extremely commendable, and very well executed! ❤❤❤
3:53 People who use stimulants like methamphetamine and cocaine can develop "stimulant psychosis" during a long lasting session. Stimulants deplete dopamine, and sleep deprive the user, which produces an erratic psychotic state that will get much worse if the person continue to administer stimulants. If he isnt always like this, but every few days he is then i think its likely. Otherwise, it would either be schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, or bipolar type 1 (manic episode/mixed episode), very much looks like the first or last to me as he has a combination of psychotic and elevated mood symptoms. edit: Violence is NOT a symptom of these disorders, but can come about for a number of reasons such as trauma, confusion, or substances (especially alcohol).
Or he behaves erratic as an act to avoid the consequences of his actions. I really wish people would stop the armchair psychiatry, it doesn't lend anything to the mental health issue.
@@n0m4nic I really think the fact that I typed this in a RUclips comment should be enough of a warning without me having to say "I am not a clinician". I am however studying pharmacy, and both of my parents ARE clinical psychologists. I read primary literature on topics that do interest me , and yes I feel perfectly fine with discussing it on the Internet so long as it is very clear that I am speculating. I really do not see measurable harm from discussing clinical psychology in a way like this where it clear that I am speculating. The iffiest thing I said was "would" instead of "could" for the three conditions I listed, which I'll change to make it extra clear I am speculating. Respectully, is the theory you put forward really something you believe is plausible here? Faking insanity is a real thing, but I have never heard of someone faking their insanity months out in advance before committing the crimes. If this were some genius scheme to get away with violent acts by acquitted due to insanity, why is he also recording the violent acts he wants to get away with? The idea of someone struggling with substances, severe mental illness, or a combination of factors like these is much more plausible to me than this. You're talking as if he is a serial killer with such immense bloodlust that he devises an elaborate plan to be able to harm as many people as possible with no legal consequence??? Strikes me that if the way I was speculating is harmful, the way you are certainly is too. Personally, I think genuine speculation is fine so long as it doesn't cross the line into advice.
He doesn’t seem bipolar at all to me outside of the frequent uploads. He doesn’t have a constant or escalating agitative state. When he gets provoked it doesn’t send him up to 11 and he’s able to maintain more calm and obedient around the police. His pupils have a normal size anytime we see him so I don’t believe he’s on illegal stimulants. His skin and general complexion don’t point to it either. It’s possible he might be dealing with the effects of drugs in utero. He clearly has some verbal things going on which can stem from all of the above. Whether he accuses to pick fights or has paranoid delusions is impossible to tell from videos on youtube. All we can know for sure is that he’s not equipped to walk free. He needs serious psychiatric help on top of the living situation.
@@cats1970 I don't think we see his pupils adjust to light at any point in this videos so it's hard to say without knowing what his baseline is. I don't consider stimulant psychosis a super likely explanation though. regardless, if he was very far into a session the pupils wouldn't necessarily be dilated, as his blood pressure and dopamine levels would be plummetting and he would be dosing in order to maintain. BD1 I have personal experience with (I responded to treatment very well, so really haven't had a huge impact on my life besides financial and relationship problems during the time when I was untreated.) Flight of ideas and strained speech, as well as extreme impulsivity were what lead me to suggest it. Something to note about BD is that it damages the brain when left untreated, so illness that has been ignored for years looks MARKEDLY different. Notably, psychotic symptoms get progressively worse, cycling rate increases, and the frequency of rapid cycling or "mixed episodes" (the most dangerous state for someone with BD) increases. To be clear though, I primarily just named the three largest disorders capable of producing psychosis. Obviously in practice it will be a ton of factors but I think it's reasonable to assume a psychotic disorder or substance problem is a fairly large underlying cause.
Really really heartbreaking to see this. I grew up with an uncle who had schizophrenia and when I turned 18 he lived with myself and my family after my grandmother passed away. Being around someone with schizophrenia is extremely exhausting. I loved my uncle very much, but being around him was mentally and physically taxing. My uncle was heavily medicated, but that only helped so much. I just hope this young man gets some help and is able to stay at a place that can safely monitor him. The unfortunate truth is that if his mentally disabilities are as severe as they seem to be, then there's not much that can truly help him.
He might suffer from the effects of drug use in the womb (when his mother was pregnant). Intellectual disability, delusions, paranoia, disorganized, hostile, impulsive. Drugs like crack and crystal can do that to the foetus. Of course most people with these conditions aren’t dangerous. I feel for him and his victims no matter what caused it.
To start out with, I just wanna say I agree with you and this is a very astute observation. But I just want to say I absolutely *hate* that spelling of the word "fetus". My brain wants to pronounce it "foe-tus", and it just makes me think of an evil enemy baby. Keep your friendtuses close, and your foetuses closer.
@@cats1970it would be pronounced something like “Feu-tuss”, if I’m not mistaken, I’m pretty sure Ø is similar to Ö in Swedish, and it’s pronounced like a “squished” o, kinda
I think he may have been saying a crazy kid, rather than cat, around 13:40-ish. He mentions "not an animal", as well as the culprit having "long dreads and crooked teeth".
As a partner of a schizophrenic person, I genuinely appreciate you making that disclaimer. The attitude people hold towards schizophrenic people is terrifying.
There was a girl who acted a little like him last time I was at the psych ward, mostly with the incoherent speech. It’s not nice, but when I was bored I would just talk to her the same way. “Oh yeah the moon eats the sun and that’s why dogs like salad but not goldfish” must’ve made sense to her because she always went along with it. I feel a little bad about it but I didn’t actually do any harm, I mean there were some nurses who would actively try to start stuff with her and get her riled up so they could sedate her.
Using context clues of what is being said he's not saying "Cat/Kitty", he's saying "Kid/Kiddy". He's trying to imply someone jumped him. No idea why he was meowing though.
homeless people are so uncared for in this world its horrible. i hope everyone that was hurt by him is doing alright and that hes also getting whatever help he needs
No its the opposite, they're so well looked after now that it's become an acceptable lifestyle for some. A few hundred years ago 99% of these people would be deceased.
You're really good about dispelling myths. There are a lot of RUclipsrs that I like but I just have to bite my tongue, frustrated by them proliferating dangerous misconceptions. I remember recently you mentioned Ayahuasca in a video and was pleasantly surprised to hear a, "this is a plant medicine not to be taken likely" message, instead of the all-too-common prohibitionist rhetoric. And I can trust that, if you bring up a mental illness in a video, you won't feed into the ableism and stigma. "Schizophrenic people are far more likely to be victims of violence than to be perpetrators." What an excellent sentence. Sure, schizophrenic people can commit violence, but neurotypical people do too every day. The difference is just confirmation bias, not science. Great job as always.
You mentioned that you thought the cops might have boarded the house up. Depending on where they are, they might not be able to. Look into squatter's rights. I would do it a disservice trying to explain it.
I don't know why, but I suddenly just realised I've seen this video before. And all of a sudden I realised also just how creepy it is. I hope he is ok and doing much better, wherever he is now. Not hurting or stalking other people, atleast.
this is a super small aside, but i appreciate your disclaimer in regards to schizophrenia and other """scary""" disorders. i'm always worried when videos of this nature touch on individuals with disorders like that, since it's really easy to perpetuate the belief that people living with schizophrenia are inherently violent. this story was more sad than anything else.
Dude I honestly didn't even know if this channel was still uploading, this channel was a huge part of my childhood and seeing that intro again really hit! I gotta rewatch some of those vids now 🥲

@@yuritarted9890 There are way more U.S. born crazies roaming the streets and harming people than there are immigrants doing so. You're just perpetuating an age old, nativist and xenophobic tendency to demonize outsiders. It's the same thing that was done to the Irish, Italians, Germans, etc. etc. Seems like every new wave of immigrants that come in, they have to face bigotry from the people already here. Data shows that immigrants and refugees from the southern border commit far less crimes, when compared to native born citizens. Stop getting brainwashed by the daily wire and fox news.
My uncle had schizophrenia and wouldn’t hurt a fly however was very vulnerable himself to be scammed for money etc so appreciate that you made a point of saying that it’s a misconception that it makes those with it violent. People can just be shitty evil ppl and schizophrenia can’t heighten that but also often gets used by those that have committed terrible crimes as a insanity plea
I really appreciate you clarifying that schizophrenia doesn't make a person violent. I can't count the number of true crime or scary channels I've had to unfollow because I found out they held awful beliefs about the mentally ill. It's so refreshing to see a discussion from someone who has the facts instead of ableist stereotypes.
i worked in the mental health sector, dealing with people who have more serious mental health issues but still live their daily lives in society and most are more of a danger to themselves rather than others, they normally end up being sectioned for acts that put themselves in danger or others, but in other ways, like pulling the emergency brakes on the train in some breakdown. i rarely came across individuals that were violent, yet many get labelled as such without committing any acts of violence. i ran support groups, so they were also individuals seeking out help for their struggles. people like this are 1/1000.
The guy that stepped up… SOMEONE has to be that guy. If you honestly feel you can play that part, don’t be afraid to speak up. This was a great video Scare theatre!
Thank you so much for clarifying that schizophrenic people are vulnerable, marginalized people and not dangerous. I have a loved one with schizophrenia and hate the stereotype of people like them being violent.
There are too many people in this world to have to have somebody like this around. Somebody going around violently attacking people minding their own business is one of the most disgusting things, especially elderly people.
@ScareTheater idk if you are already aware of this, but I may have found this guy’s previous channel. @Mikelwhite7570 . Same name, look alike, and appear to be in the exact same abandoned home. That channel was active in 2022, then stopped posting, which is consistent with him moving on to the new channel you showed in this vid. If it is the same guy, it seems like his mental state really deteriorated between the previous channel and the one you showed in this video. I didn’t get a chance to see all both channel’s videos, but the person behind the older channel seemed a lot more coherent.
14:56 I think he is saying "kid, and kiddie" not "cat, and kitty". He just has weird pronunciations. He says "bando" allot also which is slang for abandoned house.
So the Cat thing can be something he's referencing one of his alters, if he has Disasoiative Identity Disorder/MPD. Or something he's legit calling other people. "J-Cats" are a term given to inmates that are diagnosed with mental and or psychological disorders. "Meow meow" is like calling someone a derogatory slur. (Source: Talking with people from treatment centers that have been incarcerated and or involved in the prison system.) There's a lot going on with this guy but he's forsure dangerous to others, especially if he needs to be medicated ya know? Good vid ST, cheers
As someone who has bipolar, we also get this sterotype as being harmful. Its digsuting, i do understand there's people who have schizophrenia and bipolar that have harmed someone, but i feel like mental abuse is common as if you arent medicated and are having a break down you say mean things, i have done that before when i was completely gone mentally i had to get help.

That's the issue to begin with. Everyone just ignoring a problem until it's right in their face.

Hey, I was homeless in NYC for many years. Sadly, there are many people like Mikel out there who have untreated mental illness and are prone to violent outbursts. @@jessep5280 This DOESN'T go beyond mental health. If the US had an adequate public healthcare system, cases like these could be avoided. @@afxdvsn Well, yeah, I agree with you - but that's not going to happen anytime soon in the United States.

And that's not due to poor mental health, that's due to literal *physical differences* between his brain and the neurotypical brain. I'm speaking about this as someone who is both autistic and has ADD. Mental health services such as therapy and medication can only do so much for these types of disorders.

Thank you for the work you do!
I totally agree though, more people should act.

can i just say, THANK YOU for saying that being schizophrenic doesn't make someone dangerous. as someone with their fair share of mental illnesses themselves, it always makes me feel seen to see people spread true information and destigmatize mental illness.
Frontal lobe damage?
@@AmonAnon-vw3hr yes
It would DEFINITELY explain this guy's weird machismo obsession with fitness and picking fights with other people. He probably use to be more sane but got into a really rough brawl or had a nasty accident that damaged his brain and now he acts like... this
I wouldn't be surprised if he left it untreated either cause he wasn't aware or was too prideful to seek treatment and tried self-medicating with narcotics that further damaged his mind
this is very terrifying to see mikel's channel is still up on youtube.

I see people like mikel on the streets all the time when I go for walks. Mental healthcare in this country is a joke.

You can’t help people who don’t want help. Most people are homeless due to their own choices and decisions.
@allflashandnocontent How can they be able to accept help from others if their minds aren't in the right place. Their mental illness prevents them from trusting their loved ones or anyone else that wants to help them.

He's crazy, but he knows who to be violent towards. Man's crazy and a bully, incredibly dangerous.
@FormerGovernmentHuman that man is looney af, but he ain't dumb. That's why he keeps picking fights with old men.
Its partly the reason why I quit the job, since he kept roaming around and at times provoking me.
oh no you cant say that you're "dangerously stigmatizing" mentally ill people, they're NEVER violent (even though we just watched a mentally ill man assault people on camera) please dont stigmatise him
In one of the few videos he has left up, he is screen recording and goes to use his search bar, a few of the recent searches that pop up are "depressed" "depression" and "intermittent fasting"
Hopefully he got some help and is doing better.
Cat is usually a slang for drug addicts, but it's mainly used in the UK. He might be calling random people "cats" because they are addicted to drugs in his mind.
schizo pot, meet schizo kettle
No it isn't, I've never heard anyone here call an addict a cat. "Nitty" sure... not cat. Cat is only used in the US.
Nice to see your back with more content !! I use to love watching your channel as a kid .
Appreciate the awareness. My mom is schizophrenic but is the sweetest woman I know
3:53 People who use stimulants like methamphetamine and cocaine can develop "stimulant psychosis" during a long lasting session.
And thank you for shouting out that most people with mental illness are not violent! :)
BD1 I have personal experience with (I responded to treatment very well, so really haven't had a huge impact on my life besides financial and relationship problems during the time when I was untreated.)
Flight of ideas and strained speech, as well as extreme impulsivity were what lead me to suggest it.
“Next video is a bit of a dark one….”
Is there any other kind? Haha. This is scare theater
arguably one of the lightest topics he’s covered on here lol
Really really heartbreaking to see this. I grew up with an uncle who had schizophrenia and when I turned 18 he lived with myself and my family after my grandmother passed away. Being around someone with schizophrenia is extremely exhausting. I loved my uncle very much, but being around him was mentally and physically taxing. My uncle was heavily medicated, but that only helped so much. I just hope this young man gets some help and is able to stay at a place that can safely monitor him. The unfortunate truth is that if his mentally disabilities are as severe as they seem to be, then there's not much that can truly help him.

Drugs like crack and crystal can do that to the foetus. Of course most people with these conditions aren’t dangerous. I feel for him and his victims no matter what caused it.
To start out with, I just wanna say I agree with you and this is a very astute observation.

The difference is just confirmation bias, not science.

i worked in the mental health sector, dealing with people who have more serious mental health issues but still live their daily lives in society and most are more of a danger to themselves rather than others, they normally end up being sectioned for acts that put themselves in danger or others, but in other ways, like pulling the emergency brakes on the train in some breakdown. i rarely came across individuals that were violent, yet many get labelled as such without committing any acts of violence. i ran support groups, so they were also individuals seeking out help for their struggles. people like this are 1/1000.
