You should do a video covering MJ's other collaboration with Sega, which was the Sonic 3 soundtrack. It was rumored for years he had a hand in it, but it wasn't confirmed until recently when Sega re-released Sonic 3 & stripped out the original soundtrack. There's a video by "Pop Fiction" covering the Sonic 3/Michael Jackson music & it's similarities to his music.
They should make another game of Michael !!

This game was groundbreaking during its time. It was a pretty difficult game though. I could never get passed the Thriller level
Tbh, there's not enough "detail" in this one... Nearly no info at all on the completely different Arcade and Computer versions of the game. It's not bad, it just feels unfinished and doesn't deliver on its title.

I played the hell out of this game and I still have my original genesis cartridge. Small correction: Bubbles didnt turn him into the robot, you had to catch a shooting star that would fly across the level.

It’s probably because he wasn’t given credit for it and likely Sega might have sued them for it.
As both a Nintendo fan & a Michael Jackson fan, I have to say that this video is well researched.
You captured the truth of the videogame industry & how Nintendo saved the business from the 1983 Crash.
Nintendo redesigned the entire business in their image since 1985 & this status is still in effect today.
The industry is having a new crash right now & Nintendo's model is immune to all of it.
At that time Sega was the biggest alternative to Nintendo in the videogame console realm.
And if Nintendo passed on making a game with him (fools!), Sega surely wouldn't make that mistake.
Michael being a gamer himself was quick to understand the potential of videogames with his art & message.
It seemed like he was thinking in multimedia concepts where he would use his media to change hearts & minds.
Music, movies, videogames all with his imprint on it & having great influence with the youth.
I think the conspirators saw where he was going with this & that's why they created the scandal on him.
The 1990s would be the decade Michael BROADENED his impact & those crooks robbed us of this potential.
Humanitarian works mixed with his artistic vision through multiple forms of media.
What would have happened if he completed the Dangerous Tour as he intended?
How would he have moved in the rest of the 1990s if they didn't derail him?
We would have gotten A LOT more than Space Channel 5 & Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 if they didn't screw him.

Can you make a video on how people reacted to changes in MJ's skin colour before the Bad album dropped?
He looked light skinned from the Victory Tour onwards and then even Captain EO. But somehow, people only talked when the Bad album and music video Dropped.

I'm almost 40, I hear a lot of people call the NES "Ness", like a word. Growing up EVERYBODY I knew called in an N.E.S., pronounced "enn ee ess". Same with super Nintendo, everyone called it Super N.E.S. (soo per enn ee ess). I feel like it's only within these past decade or two people have been calling it Ness.
Here in the United Kingdom it was always known as the NES not N.E.S.

Absolutely had a blast playing this game in its many forms. I miss playing the arcade cabinet and I do own the sega game to this day
I played it as much as I could at Aladdin's Castle w/ limited quarters. Him having his Altered Beast moment was great. Not too much of a fan of the ported version
I believe Another Part Of Me replaces Thriller in later versions/releases of the game. Forgot why that was.

The same for me! My Christmas present in 1992. I went to the supermarket with my late grandfather, who was to give me the Super Nintendo that made me dream so much when I played it at my friends' house. But when I saw the MegaDrive (I'm from Europe) in the store with an image of the game Moonwalker on the back of the box, I suddenly changed my mind! No regrets even if after that Nintendo became my favorite video game brand, the MegaDrive was a great console!

09:38 Thriller is not the song in this stage, it's Another Part Of Me. And yeah, that's weird. But there is a very rare version of Moonwalker that plays Thriller in the graveyard level. Can't remember the full story now but the most common Moonwalker game uses Another Part Of Me in this level. I don't even remember if the "Thriller edition" was ever officialy released. I saw a video about it years ago uncovering this mistery but i don't remember the exact details now.
Was looking for this comment as I played this video game A LOT when I was a child, and remember very well that it was Another Part Of Me for the 3rd level. I was very surprise to hear Thriller song in the video, even if it is actually more logical because the level is on the theme of Thriller
We gotta talk about Mj’s other collaborations with Sega from involvement with sonic 3 to the Sega world exclusive game and Space Channel 5 parts 1 and 2 which was his last collab with them in the early 2000s

I remember being in the Arcade & spending all my quarters on this until I beat the game in ONE DAY, didn't play anything else in there all day~ Wilmrbadguy
I heard he helped w/Knuckles and Sonic BGM. If you listen to the evolution of the Sonic BGM it's very evident he had a hand in there later on.
Yet, SEGA had to cut ties due to all the court stuff.
They should remaster the 3 different versions of Moonwalker in a collection for ps5🔥🔥🔥

I grew up playing this game so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I had no idea it was released in 1990 (always assumed it was ‘88). Major thank you to The Detail for putting this together. I learnt quite a bit from this video!

He’s a Brit and the NES was not that popular in Europe. Sega’s Master System and Mega Drive (it was only called Genesis in America) were the most popular video game consoles in Europe of that era.
Not to mention its obvious the uploaded probably wasn't even around when the nes was around. Already got a few facts wrong about this game.

The chimp DOES NOT transform Michael Jackson into a robot. The Chimp guides Michael to the Boss battle. What transforms Michael is a shooting start that falls from the sky at specific places!!
...and if you don't catch it & miss it you are screwed with the hordes of enemies.
Both are not entirely wrong, there's a console version and an arcade version both versions are pretty much entirely different games. In the arcade game bubbles transforms Michael into a robot, in the console version you have to touch a shooting star instead.
This video didn't do a good job talking about both versions, kinda gives the impression of both games being the same thing which they're not.
@@thesch2867 He only seems to be talking about the SEGA Genesis one. The arcade is a 3 player with anisometric view. Maybe his research is not that good that they thought they were both the same version.
