When we visited my grandparents over the Christmas holiday, the moment we got the bags in the house my grandmother would sing Ishe Taungana, and the entire family prayed. The night before we left for Masvingo, on some early day in January, she would sing Nditungamire Jehovah, while we sat outside seeing the little lights in the huts miles down the valley in Mozambique. It was so quiet that our voices definitely carried. We would then pray, and know that Jehovah will direct our steps in the new year. Years after my grandmother passed, her brother (a pastor) shared with me 2 Timothy 1:3-5 - my first lesson about generational faith. This song has ministered to me in a unique way!
