I have exactly the same with this what you called “made in Germany”. I got it 1994 from a local distributor of “Draper UK” for €180, and as everyone knows that this company makes almost everything in China. Even the motor is identical; the only difference is that my drill has a safety switch inside the pulleys and belt compartment, so when that opens the drill motor stops. I believe also yours it’s made in China; the German-"made" drills are in another level. Anyhow you have done an exelent job.
The label says INTERKRENN - which is just an import / export company. There's interkrenn stuff in Thailand so it's very likely just a whitelabel that got sold world wide under a choose your brand name approach. Definitely not made in Germany.
Yes, there are lots of them with different brands, but it's the same equipment. Mine says Made In PRC, i.e. People's Republic of China. It's a very bad article, full of gaps, misaligned. I had to rectify mine to get some accuracy. I even had to replace the chuck which was eccentric. There is no point in cosmetic restorations, or even replacing the bearings, because the problems with lack of pressure are in the body of the machine. All bearings should have bronze bushings, but they are only in the casting material. Really bad compared to English, German or American drilling machines.
Nice drill press :) The new ones are basicly toys. I just made mine, which was build in 70's. Every parts made of cast iron. It has a weight of 96 kg. It was production since gods knows when. It only needed a rewiring and couple of bearings. It was eguipped with an 1kw dahlander 3 phase motor. Gear selection 3 by 3.
I recommend welding a U channel under the drilling table to reinforce it because it is clear that it does flex quite a bit which might hinder precision!
One day in a hardware store... Staff : hello good morning. Me : morning to you to. Staff : how can i help you sir Me : i'm looking for a paint Staff : What colour do you have in mind? Me : Pechoo blue Staff : 😬
I don't like that green either, but I do like the Hammerite green. I just like Hammerite paint on metal full stop. Lol. Have a good one mate. 👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Excelente proyecto muy bien desarrollado y mejor ejecutado , una magnífica restauración , gracias por compartir sus conocimientos y experiencias , un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón , Galicia ( España) 🤓 😜
Excellent restauration. Interkrenn in Germany is not very known for its quality. Therefore you find this model often in the hobby woodworking sector. Meanwhile chinese drill press got much better and can definitely compete at a fraction of the cost. But I'm sure you made a better out of this model with this outstanding restauration. I works very quiet now.
Got to say it wasn't really in all that bad a shape, the restoration was enjoyable but by no means a shocker that it was restored without too much stress.
Great job. I also own this quality bench drill (made in 1994, 250W). If someone needs to change the V-belt and needs to know its size (since there is a lot of misleading information about its size on the Internet and various forums), here I made a video about it in English (but you can turn on any subtitles - there are more than 70 to choose from languages). I'll just add that in the end, I chose a high-quality V-belt from the German company Continental. Here is the video in question. Hopefully, it will help someone. ruclips.net/video/Q3t2dpL4HfM/видео.html

it's amazing how despite making that in Germany they manage to make it look like a standard cheap Chinese drill press.
