  • I am a true fan of Teenage engineering, I really admire them and this is nothing but an approach...
this is the real thing: • OB-4 overview ‪@teenageengineering‬
So, this is a simple radio fm kit, with an isd1820 sampler/looper, same batteries for both, audio output from radio goes to input on sampler, sharing the same output, quite messy but fun.
    another diy sampler looper thing.
    thanks for watching!

reminds me of a 'spirit box' (FM radio with a digital tuner, the scan button held, ran through a noise gate, and then reverb/delay)

When I was still in school, I took a week long summer camp at a university in the next city. It was showcasing an EE&CS course which I was really interesting am and to some degree still are. Every day was packed with some lectures and even some practical parts. One day we visited their electrochemical lab and measured voltages of different metals to understand how they contributed to developing better batteries for electric cars. On another day we also did a soldering workshop and I had some previous experience from my childhood - but they all got us some neat stations as well as a FM radio kit. It was such a joy to race the other participants for whoever finished their build first. And after a while we got the first sounds. I still have the circuit board around as it's powered by a 9B block battery. It has two large potentiometers for volume and frequency. But there is also a tiny potentiometer which is meant for fine trimming the signal, it's solder joint is rather bad... So touching that knob amplifies the signal or switches channel.
I haven't managed to do such a project ever since - so seeing something similar but more useful is interesting to see.
Those explorative videos on your channel over the past few weeks and months were really great to watch. But it looks like there has only been one of them since. So I guess I will leave a comment on that one as well.
