I want to say us woman are fearless. I have seen so many woman on this RUclips platform just take on projects I couldn’t imagine and get it done. We are buying the houses and gettting it done. So inspired. I just purchased a yr ago, well last July and I am so motivated by you ladies FYI the standing cooler is a must. I purchased one this summer and it changed the game. Get you one. Can’t wait to see the final results of everything.
Well happy ONE YEAR to you darlin and yes ....its amazing seeing so many of us just GETTING IT DONE and so beautifully... makes my heart smile. and yes that cooler is still calling me lol thanks luv
🌺 Happy Sunday darling SURPRISE new updates in the #BACKYARDMAKEOVER series just when you thought we where done! *What would you do with this space?* Please drop and suggestions/links on the pea gravel situation... also how do we feel about the new addition? Let's *TALK ABOUT IT* below! Sending you the best vibes & I *THANK YOU* soooo much for being here!✨
Girl I’m so glad I missed this upload yesterday. My grandkids are here and I truly something relaxing to watch while they nap. I just love your channel😀❤️
I was yelling don’t buy it, it won’t look good even when it’s wet. Wait till you can get the grey gravel.. when it’s wet it’s get a bit darker but it looks so much better. Great job. 😁
Black fence is ❤️🔥. Don't use wood for your border, get some edging pavers from garden section of the depot. Pea gravel - look for a rock quary near you, waaaayyyy better selection. I was wondering why you dumped entire bag just to wash and see color 🤔 😁. Live and learn - we here for all of this. Keep up the good work. Suggestion - put a water feature in your new section. Bump the straight edge of your lumber up against the concrete if you keep it.
Love it as per usual! But I would put a grill up against the house. How about a bar table mounted to the house with bar stools! It would be a cool entertainment area
Go ahead Queen! You turn your visions into reality!!! Check Lowes, Home Depot, Ace and any local hardware stores for the white crude marble chip, while not gray, it may be closer to the vibe you’re trying to achieve.
Awesome job!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 But, for the wood border, you should have used pressure treated wood because it's touching the ground and you don't want it to rot from the insects/rain/humidity eating into it. You'll definitely have to replace it overtime. But overall, great concept. Maybe use a concrete border with the landscape bricks from HD, and use white rocks for that area.💪🏾😊
Love the fences around the a/c being black - looks great especially w/the pergola!! You work so hard Shanda it's so inspiring! Can't believe you did all that in that Florida heat & humidity - Woah girl - you are motivated! Cannot wait to see the final product! I'm here with you tho for the long haul - one step at a time....♥
Thank you for taking us along on your journeys. Your vlogs are always so relaxing for me. The inspiration you provide is obvious, but I love the peacefulness of it all.....as well as the helpful tips! I'm proud of you lady. Keep grinding!
If I understand what your saying...it sounds like your making a space to try out rather than to be permanent. If that is the case, I say use trim pavers where you have that wood and get a gravel company to dump white/Gray stone in that section... Perhaps even adding large pavers evenly set in the area with stone pebbles filling in the gaps. This way, you will have a solid foundation to put your furniture down but you'll also be able to move those things for use around the yard if you decide to concrete that area as well. Just my thoughts ☺️
I use cardboard under my mulch for weed control. It works. I might get one weed that'll find it's way thru a lil hole. My only eco-friendly advice is to take all the tape off the boxes before you use it cuz the cardboard will eventually break down in soil and you'll end up with tape in the ground.
I take a YT break and she done built a whole backyard! You are Awesome!!! And Brooklinen hardcore luxe are the ONLY sheets I fool with in this South Florida weather!! Year round coolness🌺🌺🌺
Instead of gravel which is not sterdy or comfortable consider pavers they are inexpensive and would look great with the concreate. It looks amazing! Maybe even use concrete blocks to lift the pergola up to match the covered patio ceiling height. Great job!
Great work!! And fabulous air conditioner cover! You are so clever! Would love to see a gray paver stone patio and THEN fill in with the gray gravel. You could even add a border of the gray paver stones around the new white patio too !
U can spray paint the gravel if u can’t find the color u want…. I’ve only seen the gray in those larger gravel like the have in alleys. Landscaping suppliers is where u can go to get a better selection of colors and they can deliver by the truck and dump in your driveway as long as u have a wheel barrel to move it. Just measure the space so u don’t order too much
A stone yard or landscaping company will definitely be cheaper than individual bags from the big box stores. We did our front yard with the white marble chips and it took like 30 bags. Our space isn't as big as your space in your backyard. Only catch is you have to move the gravel yourself.
Ooooooouuuuuu That Girl Skin Glowing, I Been Patiently Waiting For A Video Can't wait to See What About To Happen You Are Incredible Queen and I'm Proud Of You 🤍
Not sure if someone has said it already but call you locally bulk mulch /rock places. They will have your perfect color rock and it way cheaper than bags. They can deliver it probably right to your spot also. Love the idea of garden bed and or grilling area both are great ideas and they have super cute modern looking black metal beds for good price on Amazon. Whatever u decide I know it’s gonna be super cute. Your style is amazing.
Sheet mulching works like a miracle. I would rather do that than dig all that grass up. The sheet mulch kills the weeds and grass. You adding landscaping paper too you won't see weeds till next year.
Another great video!! Love the black a/c cover & new extension!! I 2nd the bbq grill & maybe a picnic bench for a little outdoor eating space. 😺 And good singing voice, love it!!! You are SO inspiring!!! 💟
Love the no-dig method, would you consider trying large pavers (24x24) with drainage or medium or large river rocks between pavers. This would give a platform for the grill and larger rock is safer around windows with lawn service. You're doing a great job, sis!!!
Wow!!👏🏽👏🏽 u did that to have a vision and bring it to life is everything!! Love all the touches even the blooper…. I really love that song I sing it like it’s new whenever I hear it lol
I just saw your hunt for pea gravel. See if there is a Stone Yard in your area. They carry all colors of gravel and they may be able to deliver it to you. Good luck with your project. I truly admire what you are doing👍😊
Go to a stone yard (quarry) near you. They will have the grey pea gravel. I did my patio with it years ago and now I want to extend it making a dining area. Really is inexpensive and they deliver to your driveway.
Pea gravel I’m doing a part of my yard In south fl davie area we went to a nursery and bought it by the yard for around $35 it was a lot of pea gravel rented a uhaul it’s cheaper than buying it by the bag and you can put your furniture on it . God bless !
get you some raised beds and plant food. Wasting water on grass is madness and your water bill is probably expensive. At least you will have good healthy food in your system.
Hey Gorgeous GlamFlower💐🌺 Loooks amazing no doubt! You can do no wrong🖤 Would using the spray gun have been easier to spray the fence? Dig the outline a little bit deeper to flatten it🤍 I’ll be over next week for some mimosas 🥂🥂 To all of My GlamourOusFlowers Have a wonderful week ahead 💖💖💖💖
You can find gravel of all colors and sizes at a local rock sand and soil place and they will deliver it to your home by dump truck. I went with a dark gray slate for my flower beds. Slate is pretty pricey and works better as mulch for flower beds, but my local place had gray gravel in small medium and large sizes much cheaper than Home Depot. I just had them dump it in my driveway and had a landscaping company lay it out for me because I’m too afraid of snakes and lizards and all that to be messing around outside, but you could probably do it by yourself or with friends.
Great job..I wish I had that much energy lol....I started somewhat of the same project in my backyard for a dining area...I bought bags of pea gravel but never finished 😔😔...I can say that for the size and color you are trying to accomplish it would probably be best to buy from a stone yard..From watching and reading about other ppl doing this type of project it is supposed to be less expensive..only thing you will have to move stone from driveway to backyard😞😞..Good luck..looking forward to final outcome!!😊😊
I made the same mistake with the pea gravel. What you may be looking for are “marble chips”. Yes they’re a bit more jagged than pea gravel (which is a bit more rounded) but it definitely gives you the color you’re looking for. It is a bit more expensive per bag so it may be best to check landscaping shop or wherever. I got mine from Lowes/HD though. Great job on the backyard so far. It looks so good. I see the vision!
I’m new to your channel but everything is coming together nicely I admire your ability to put everything together by your self!! I am woman spirit is da bomb. Just a something to think about especially since you’re a new homeowner but the grill should be at least 10 feet away from the building to avoid possible fire damage. Check with your city fire ordinance guidelines. Great job
I would try a landscaping place. That’s where I got mine. And it’s cheaper then purchasing from Lowe’s or Home Depot. It’s the smaller version of River Rock
Hello there. You may want to check and see if you can garden over the weed repelant. I have heard that some of that stuff is so toxic that it will get pulled into your vegitation and make you very sick. Other than that great job. Your yard is coming along so nicely.
Everything is coming together so nicely! I was thinking, why don't you go into the bathroom at the store, runs those rocks in your hand under water and walk around a bit to see if they start drying gray instead of buying a bag. A bit extra perhaps, but so is spending money on what is unwanted , right!🙂
I almost feel like if you laid two pieces on top of each other in the opposite direction, the piece of the gate on bottom would catch some of that lost paint.
Yayyy.. premiere gang! I wish we could share pictures here 🤔 For the Gravel: You can have gravel delivered from a stone place (large dump and you shovel/wheelbarrow where you want it or Lowes/Home depot will deliver the bags. Good afternoon. I get what you're trying to do. You may have to go to a stone quarry to get the color you want. Home Depot in my area did not have dark stones. I have dark stones in my yard. The fence looks nice.
Amazing video! Check Lowe's for Grey Pea Gravel. There is a brand called Rain Forest. Also check locations that sell by the yard. Best of luck, looking forward to see the next steps. 🧡

no apologies or praise needed luv, Thats a good suggestion & actually what I wanted to do but It'll require me too remove everything and level it all 🥵
Good morning ❤️, The fence came out nice. I never liked them orange rocks. They will make the white on your house look dirty. A nice orange baseboard if you will. Not the vibe.
Coming along great, I look forward to seeing what you do next in the backyard. Suggestion, make the wood pieces flush with the concrete, so no trip accidents. Other than that great job.

lol after the fact I'm like... why did I even dump that whole bag there lmaooo doin too much
You need two saw horses and one Plywood next from Lowes or Home Depot. That way you would have work table to make it easier to paint.
I like the fence being black, but it looks like that made the units more visible than when it was white for some reason.
I agree , I was like the white hid them more... it just looked too cheesy tho
You are so talented! Haven’t bought my house yet. But when I do you have inspired my no creativity self to try some smaller projects 🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Black fence is ❤️🔥. Don't use wood for your border, get some edging pavers from garden section of the depot. Pea gravel - look for a rock quary near you, waaaayyyy better selection. lol I actually asked myself the same question after dumping that whole bag lol thanks for the tips
Girl you played my JAM at the end of this video. I was dancing wit you! Hahaha,,,, GREAT VIDEO TOO!!!

Listen, you are doing so good & everything is definitely coming together.
I’m actually liking the black tarp lol maybe get some black mulch? Or black pebbles
I said the same thing to myself.... but I feel it might be too much mulch
They have the white rocks at Home Depot and they have the gray tent to them. You may want to look at them.
thanks luv
Look at places that sell actual stones and things like that, you can get it delivered
That’s crazy how I find RUclips channels I love and then find out the person is a Gemini like me 🤣
Go to a stone yard (quarry) near you. They will have the grey pea gravel. I did my patio with it years ago and now I want to extend it making a dining area. Really is inexpensive and they deliver to your driveway.
The area looks good where it is. I don't think it needs to extend out any further. I'm glad that you found a use for the rocks.
thanks suga
Looking good! You can go to a whole sale place and have them deliver a 1/2 or 1 ton of gravel to your home at a time.
Pea gravel I’m doing a part of my yard In south fl davie area we went to a nursery and bought it by the yard for around $35 it was a lot of pea gravel rented a uhaul it’s cheaper than buying it by the bag and you can put your furniture on it . God bless !

I think black gravel would look nice
I look for you everyday
I did this same exact thing this morning lol putting down cardboard to kill the grass it kicked my butt!!

The fence is beautiful in black 🖤 Nice choice! And are those YT music songs? I love them!!
thanks luv, musics from Epidemic sound
Patiently awaiting a front yard update....... 👀
Love the back yard vibes you're creating. You're my home muse & shero for sure 💛

Awesome updates as usual, you get things done, way to go Shanda!!!
You can get grey slate chips, well you can here in the UK, so I would have thought you would be able to too.

I'm so happy for the updates!! I'm about to get ready for the outdoor fall activities.
Woot woot! so ready for the fall feels
👍👍👍 Good job! 😊 I would have done the card board & weed fabric in the reverse but thats just me.
Coming along nicely. Keep up the good work!
I had the same issue with the rocks in my backyard. I got the grayish ones from Lowe’s. River Pebbles are have more gray than the Pea Gravel
Hey there welcome back you had a good week.
Hey luv, hope your week was amazing

Good afternoon. I get what you're trying to do. You may have to go to a stone quarry to get the color you want. Home Depot in my area did not have dark stones. I have dark stones in my yard. The fence looks nice.

Amazing video! Check Lowe's for Grey Pea Gravel. There is a brand called Rain Forest. Also check locations that sell by the yard. Best of luck, looking forward to see the next steps. 🧡

I think you should've used landscape timbers but if not at least pressure treated 2x4s
Ok vocals! I love your backyard transformation. I too love seeing that us as woman can do things on our own and get them done. Great Job!
You are extremely inspiring 🙌🏽😃

Thanks luv, now on that energy lol I'll let you know when I find out lol
Good morning ❤️,
The fence came out nice. I never liked them orange rocks. They will make the white on your house look dirty. A nice orange baseboard if you will. Not the vibe.
morning luv, AGREED...ewww lol
I love, love, love how things are coming along. Thank for sharing and being an inspiration!
BEAUTIFUL HOME
Thank you!
Coming along great, I look forward to seeing what you do next in the backyard.

Hard work!!
Looks great!
Totally admire your independence and hardworking attitude 👏. Getting it done.

I love the way your patio oasis is looking it really looks good
YOU ARE DOING A AWSOME JOB IN YOUR BACKYARD LOVE HOW YOU FENCED AROUND YOUR CENTRAL AIR UNIT
Purchase gravel from landscaping company by the pound
