    Nice lesson!! Great that everyone is seemingly suddenly becoming aware of Barry’s methods. Robbie Barnby did a great video on this very subject as well. Thanks

    I’ve seen this kind of content covered for piano a few times lately, and I have been trying to figure it out for guitar. You just put it all together for me. Fantastic, thank you!

      me too and i'm sure more is learned figuring it out for oneself from the piano... Seems Allan Holdsworth was doing exactly that as a teen in his bedroom in 1967...

    Hip vid. What do you think Wes' 'working' voicings were...? There's surely no way he used eg the full drop-2 min-6 with root on A string at up-tempos..? maybe he did... I'll have to go and study the vids... nice content - subscribed...

    Thanks ! This is very interesting, I understand the concept and its application in the first oart of the video, but honestly from 8:0 I don't catch anything (the sound is fine) and what is written doesn't help me.
    What are you doing there ?

    you can simply play inversions of the chord in question and fill in the chord tones with a fully diminished chord, if the object is to play a "harmonized" scale.

    Where is Wes chord solo?

    • @RichieZellon
      @RichieZellon  2 года назад +2

      This isn't a lesson about a specific Wes solo. It's about how to use the 6th an dim chords as stated. There is a huge list of solos by Wes using this concept at the beginning.
