Well stated and needed to be said.
I wonder if the psychological aspect of the government assisting millions of people to survive, whether it's food stamps, section 8 housing, social security, state run nursing home care,, etc, we look the other way at the mismanagement of our money.
So accurate, better to hush to keep our comfort , when you don't have it ,you know it

This is interesting history.
They ae already controlling or forbidding home gardening in some places. There are still some "farmers markets" in some bigger city locations, regulated to the nth degree. But roadside stands where people used to sell their extra summer produce have not been seen for a number of years now. Used to love those fresh vegies.

Wake up call!
I am being charged double propane tank rental because I don’t use enough gas. It’s the same same as what you convey Penny, government/corporate complete control if we want it or not. The most interesting part of your delivery is the bit at the end: governments need us. Ooops, they messed that one up!
Read the fine print of everything and check if there's a clause that permits for that. Feel free to check up the civil section codes and remind them what they are doing could be wrong.
