What do you do to get the effect of smoothing the surface of the picture?

yuki kross probably white pencils, there also are pencils that are entirely made to blend but you can also do it with a white pencil. Just make sure not to press too much with the coloured pencils so you don't flatten the grain of the paper :)

I started drawing now too and i was really bad at drawing in generall but i like manga style so i am learning it since 3 or 4 days ... i can only draw heads at the moment and then i saw this,while lookin around on youtube and holy shit this is awesome! I like how you painted her hair in many different colors and the Steph itself is drawn amazing. Your painting and the color shemes are awesome too! Love it
