  • It's episode 27 and we have a lovely chat with Keith Mullin from 90s icons The Farm! Tune in as we discuss Acid House, Ibiza, socialism and of course the history of the band
Welcome to The Stupid And Contagious podcast, a podcast focused on bringing you interviews with the bands that defined a generation!
That generation grew up in the 90s with the Grebo bands (Senseless Things, PWEI, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Mega City Four, The Wonderstuff and many more) on the UK side of the pond and quickly joined by the grunge bands (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and many more) on the US side of the pond.
We are not limiting ourselves to these genres though, we will chart the guitar bands from all genres throughout the decade that was the 1990s.
If you are into 1990s guitar music or just a music lover in general then this is the podcast for you!

My first time hearing The Farm was Groovy Train. I really liked em. Never got to see them in concert, the sometimes curse of being an American

Another interesting intiew, Another interesting person.....Funnily enough I struggled with the Farm here and there. Loved their Stepping Stone and Groovy Train singles tho was about it really! I remember hearing them play Groovy Train from the camping field at Reading 1992. They weren't treated very well! Tho never put them down about them or dissed them and had a kinda respect for them for their views and political stance. I was happy to hear that the Casuals were touched tho brief!
About the pod cast in general it was another gem, You should be in the record books for the mostly used time that the word Cunt was used in a space of under three minutes. That moment as well as the Drugs skit relating to acid house and electronic music! Both of those moments really cracked me up! Cheers, again Boys!

You can't knock their ability to write a banger! Any band would give their right arm to have written either Groovy Train or All togehter Now but both?! LoveKeith's political leanings and I just think they are a great band.
Re the use of the word c*nt, we encourage it, we are trying to get it into the mainstream!

The Farm set up or were involved with a music course in Liverpool way back then, helped a lot of people. They're good blokes :) extra thumbs up for Lily 👍

Groovy train is a great track never was quite so keen on altogether now. To answer Neil’s question I didn’t get to Ibiza until late 90’s ‘98 I think. I did sit next to a random guy on the plane who chatted all the way there about places to go and bought me a few JD and cokes while drinking about 10 himself. It was only after I got off that my mate said it was Bez from the Happy Mondays, I’ll never know if it was.
When I was there Ibiza was at its peak it had places for everyone space was playing techno, es paradis was hard house foam parties, manumission was house and multiple rooms. Pascha was posing and very Boy George.
My favourite memory is hearing lucky man as the sun went down at cafe del mar.
I reckon I had about 7 hours sleep that week and had to have about 3 days off work when I got home to recover!!
Agreed on the youngsters and socialism it’s weird there is a lot amongst jacks peers but also a huge backlash to it with anti feminism and Andrew Tate supporting bullshit huge amongst teenage boys.

So you might have got a flight to Ibiza with Bez?! 98 was when I was at my danciest so that must have been awesome! Oakenfold, Sasha, Digweed & your fav Sven Vath!
