I can't believe it has happened, Towelgangers!! Thank you so much to everyone who is joining us on this wild public speaking journey. I couldn't have done it without you.

Gotta say, a lot of the stuff I read for my public speaking course is stuff you talk about, so your videos are having a great practical application to my schoolwork, so thanks a lot for that, as well as making me want to become a better public speaker.

I'd really love to see how he reacts to Pat Rothfuss' public speaking skills! Patrick has such a unique cadence and it's really reflected in his writing. If anyone reads this I recommend watching "an evening with pat Rothfuss" to see a brilliant public speaker.

I'm a big proponent of lists; and I think these 110 steps can really help you become a good speaker. But I'm curious as to what really makes a speaker GREAT. Is it as simple as mechanically checking of more points? Is it from digging deeper and absolutely mastering a few select categories? or is there simply some magic to it which is hard to capture and describe?
I haven't spent nearly as much time thinking about this as you have, so I'd love to hear your perspective on it!

Can you please react to Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer! I've noticed he uses a lot of repetition and his lessons always comes in 3 main points and he kind of reminds me about a lot of speakers and how my dad talks sometimes. lol.

bcuz of quarantine and lockdowns and mental health issues i kinda started being unable to pronounce words and just get them out and i was wondering if there was like a way to like fix my pronunciation and ability to talk in general cuz the filler sound thing honestly rlly helped me out and i was kinda hoping there was some similar trick with this
Read a book, read it out loud as if you were reading it to someone. Absolutely the best way to practice using voice overall 👍👍 I sometimes prefer doing it with children's books as they usually contain more quick variation.

@@DavidJPPhillips I thought so and your text says horizontal movement while you said horizontal positioning so when you laid it out you probably didn't have childish minds like mine reviewing the list.
Anyway, you are great and I learn a lot from you. I usually rock side to side when I present due to anxiety, and now when I think about it while presenting I fidget with my hands, so I'm getting closer to more functional gestures.

First question, how should I address you? Mr., professor, Deen, or whatever you deem appropriate (Phillips). Second question, it's obvious you're highly skilled and zealously prepare, but do you methodically calculate every movement you make or do you make any room for impovisation in your presentations? Thank you for gracefully sharing your wisdom, experience, and knowledge.
I improvise a a lot and while I do the skills are entirely automatic 🙏👍
