  • The Victorian Age, also called "Age of Empire" is considered one of the most flourishing periods in English Literature, besides being a time of change as far as politics, society and economics are concerned. The Industrial Revolution influences urbanization as well as Agricultural/Transport Revolution and it causes social unrests and reforms. The main cell of the Victorian patriarchal society is a stereotype of family ased on hard work, conventions, a strict moral code and the values of the rising middle-class.

      Hello! I'm not sure of what you are asking but I hope to give you the information you need.
      The Victorian Age is usually divided into three periods: the Early Victorian period, from 1837 to 1851, the Mid-Victorian period, from 1851 to 1870; and the late Victorian period, from 1870 to 1901.

    • @admaioratutor
      @admaioratutor  5 лет назад

      It was said for both the Empires, most probably borrowing the phrase. I would kindly suggest you to make some research and you'll find out. Thanks 😂

    • @devianmasideleon9298
      @devianmasideleon9298 5 лет назад

      @@admaioratutor Love here is my research the first antecesor of the sentece was said by Herdotus in his stories quoting Xerxes I: "γῆν τὴν Περσίδα ἀποδέξομεν τῷ Διὸς αἰθέρι ὁμουρέουσαν. οὐ γὰρ δὴ χώρην γε οὐδεμίαν κατόψεται ἥλιος ὅμουρον ἐοῦσαν τῇ ἡμετέρῃ
      " Transalted: "We shall extend the Persian territory as far as God's heaven reaches. The sun will then shine on no land beyond our borders." The next apariton of the sentence was to adress the spanish empire started by Charles I/V whose son, Philip II, is said to say that sentence. This has been credited by several sources like Guarini's dedication to the daughter of Philip II "Altera figlia / Di qel Monarca, a cui / Nö anco, quando annotta, il Sol tramonta." In translation: "The proud daughter / of that monarch to whom / when it grows dark [elsewhere] the sun never sets." Francis Bacon, admits: the sun never sets in the Spanish dominions. Thomas Urquhat: "that great Don Philippe, Tetrarch of the world, upon whose subjects the sun never sets.". In the play of the german Friedrich Schiller "Don Carlos" the character of Philip II says: Ich heiße / der reichste Mann in der getauften Welt; / Die Sonne geht in meinem Staat nicht unter. In translation: "I am called / The richest monarch in the Christian world; / The sun in my dominion never sets." If it was said afterwars by any british people in recall of the spanish empire it can be fair enough but lets not "britishwipe" history, and be aware of the richness of the histories and cultures that have been negleted in reality and have been reduced to a mere stereotype. If you want more scholarship I am ready to offer you as much as you want to.

    • @admaioratutor
      @admaioratutor  5 лет назад

      Did I say it was said for the first time? Or maybe I said that the expression was borrowed? I can't understand your your tone but it is honestly quite annoying, especially when nobody is denying what you say. Probably you're just missing something.
      By the way... I am a teacher and a writer... So you can call "love" somebody else. The level of a culture and a person is determined by their education and respect, not by how wide their Empire was. (This quotation is mine so don't waste your time in researches)

      @@admaioratutor I am so sorry, didn't want to be anoying but as a scholar of spanish history in UK I keep finding out historical inacurances and a wide misundertanding in the way Spanish History and culture is portrayed and it does upset me. Didn't want to understate your position as a schoolar by calling you love, nevertheless I apologize if it came across as sexist at any level, not my intention. Just to point out a issue that not only happens with spanish history but rather with any country that is not UK or USA
