I love how the stairs scene is slightly different! Sunset is being lifted by everyone like a goddess and Twi is thrown away to the stairs against her will (also the part when she kinda bends over to regain balance kinda reminds me of a scared puppy, idk)
It's really nice how I can actually hear male singers in this one. The song is seems to have the 2 schools sing against one another and they both have male students, so it doesn't make sense that female voices were more prevalent.
For some reason every time I take an Assignment, or a test at School THIS PART (2:19 - 2:39) Always plays in my head But then all of my answers turn out to be 2:39
1:37 I would've preferred to have a bunch of background students stay and participate instead of both teams being reduced to the current human 6 and their direct Crystal Prep High rivals. The way the competition was structured annoys tf out of me. Gathering a bunch of students to form a team and have them all contribute to a task or pick certain people for a task was fine. But instead of getting rid of the people that gained the least points and splitting the competition into multiple events where a certain number of students can participate, they should've make the entire competition one whole event with multiple task, have the teams collect points as a whole and have all of the students stay and participate more, regardless if they failed their previous task. This way, all of the competitiors can have the chance to contribute to things they're actually good at without the restriction of them having to do something they may not be good at beforehand to do it. There's no real point in reducing the teams member count to 6 members. The writers only did this just for the sake of putting the current human 6 in important positions. It made sense in the 1st movie since the human versions of Twilight's friends are the only ones that Twilight can somewhat trust due to them being similar to her friends. In Rainbow Rocks they're immune to The Sirens spell, so they naturally have an importance factor there. But them being the top 6 in the Friendship Games is just for the sake of it. Like c'mon, it's a school wide event. The human 6 of that time can't be the only competent mfs in CHS. Microchip's intelligence, Lyra and Bonbon's potential teamwork and whatever hidden skill any of the other students had could've been of great use. Pinkie Pie can be kept for her baking skills, AppleJack for her DIY skills and Sunset Shimmer for her intelligence, but they could at least give the background students a chance. Any potential talents or skills that a student might've had that could've helped the team during the 2nd event are all wasted since they couldn't gather enough points from task they weren't so efficient at in the 1st event. Like imagine being an experienced motorcyclist or archer at CHS and not being able to lend your expertise because you didn't gather enough points during the academic decathlon. What a waste of an opportunity to give life to their universe. Who tf only wants the main characters at the top every single time. They already get enough attention as it is, so why not give some love for background characters.
I completely agree bro. Microchips is a genius and would have been much better in the last two tests of the first phase than most of the Mane Six. Sandalwood, Sweet Drops and Lyra are the most athletic after Rainbow dash and would have been super useful in Phase Two. Bonus points for skating being a duos category and the girls are almost one mind. Also the tests they talked about don't make sense, you're going to tell me that the BonBon girl doesn't know how to bake a cake and the super inventor genius didn't calculate what it takes for a birdhouse to stand.

This animatic is said to be the longest time the Equestria Girls writers have focused on background characters.
