It's nice to see someone work on a 73 Cougar and not just have it up for sale. I will be starting a XR7 convertible shortly. I think I will pull the engine to work on it and get it running first as it's been sitting for 35 years. Great home grown insights.
@@wallysworkin823 @wallysworkin823 Yes, I'll be keeping my 2v heads but was hoping to keep the stock air cleaning mounted after. I'll be using the Edelbrock 2750 which doesn't look as tall as your Xcelerator so I'm hopeful.
If it won't pull the skin off of a rice pudding at low RPM then you might have to consider ditching that single plane manifold. Extractors (headers) might be worthwhile also consider a single exhaust system as it suits the Cleveland firing order. 2 1/2 inch probably enough. Is that a 600 Holley? Probably big enough. Thermo fan as well might be worthwhile. Just a little list of jobs.
Thanks for the info, I’m still learning about these clevo’s . I did one quick drive around the block and it seems to pull good. The carb is a 600. I have the exhaust figured out, video coming soon 😉

Thanks, it’s been a fun project. Good luck with your project.
My little dog Buddy, is deaf but he perked right up once you got that thing running! 🤣 Dig the new intro.
I'm thinking of the 2v to 4v conversion on my '71, how is the hood clearance after you did yours?
Mine has s still a 2V I just changed the intake. Hood clearance is ok, I had to use a low profile air filter.

@@itneverwasme oh gotcha, you should be fine. I wanted to use the stock air cleaner but it wouldn’t fit with the Holley 600.

Am Australian where the Cleveland is the motor to hot rod. 2v heads better than 4v below 3500-4000rpm.
Look up clevo king on RUclips.
@@guyharrison909 Yes! You guy’s make some killer parts. I’ve been watching his channel, great info.
