My mother sewed everything too. Besides clothing (even coats) she also made draperies and slip covers. I can only sew a little. You ladies are so kind. Bless you both.
I am so happy to have found and subscribed to your channel ladies. I enjoy your conversation. Like yourselves, my mom sewed throughout my childhood and she also dressed my sister and I alike up until we were in junior high school. *I just started making brittle (will make my 5th batch today) and it is truly a fun experience, cathartic and the brittle is delicious. I will never buy it again.*
1 cup Light Karo. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1-11/4 cups raw Spanish peanuts. Cook and stir to hard boil stage. Add 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon Vanilla, 1 tablespoon baking soda. Stir it well and pour into lightly buttered pans. Shake and pound the candy in the pans to remove air bubbles. Let cool and enjoy. Use disposable aluminum pie pans for easy removal.
