This prestigious Medieval #castle for sale is surrounded by one of the most enchanting landscapes of the Maremma area, on the border between #Siena and #Grosseto, a truly authentic area of #Tuscany.
From the top of its panoramic position on the top of a hill, this fortress appears in all its grandeur as a fortified structure, consisting of two bodies of varying height located next to each other. From here, your gaze can run over the endless expanses of cultivated fields and wooded areas that characterize the property's 408 hectares of grounds, until getting lost in the glitter of the Ombrone river at the bottom of the valley, beyond which the gentle hills of Montalcino rise. A spectacular scenery that, thanks to the natural beauty of the surroundings, knows no equal.
Built in the distant Middle Ages, the main building, on the side of which the watchtower was annexed, constituted the manor house of the Ardengheschi until the 13th century. From the following century, when it passed into the hands of the Buonsignori family, the castle underwent numerous changes until it became, in recent times, a private property.
Alongside details dating back to the renovations of the last centuries, perfectly preserved original elements from the Middle Ages stand out, including the old masonry structures made strictly in stone, and the door on the north-east.
With a covered area of 1,100 square meters, the village where the castle is located stands around a delightful internal courtyard covered with ivy. Inside, the marvelous rooms of the castle stand out for their refinement and elegance, characterized by an atmosphere that seems to take us back through the centuries. Next to the main house there are numerous apartments, for a total of 20 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms, as well as cellar rooms in the basement.
The enormous historical prestige of the building and its perfect state of conservation, combined with the enchanting beauty of the Tuscan landscape make this medieval fortress for sale a truly prestigious property, one which is full of charm.

This beauty is an historical gem. The two kitchens with original fires and sinks are rare survivors of modernisation. My son in law is an archaeologist so I'd be certain to have it fully explored.
The castle shows, in its structure, the way it was built for a whole community, not just the steward family. Definitely stewards, not owners, of something this important. Lots of potential there for leasing the place to film productions.

If I had the money I would turn it into a historic game hotel. With costumes and roles for every guest, entertainment, games, horse riding, arrow shooting, everything you can think of. And balls at night! Lots of music, wine, theatrical performances, fireworks, the whole deal! Small mystery tasks for everyone to uncover during their stay... My brain is exploding with ideas! Damn! What a place! Once in a lifetime opportunity!

Because my family and educational reasons I speak fluent Italian, so I was able to truly enjoy in your voice when speaking Italian words. 09: 41 it’s the best part, really, but the dining room is beautiful too. But the tower hall with such an open space with the stairs and adorned with the flags look really transporting.
Those dark thick wooden doors are great looking.
The fireplaces are imposing and unique, I favor the greyhound one.
The inner courtyard with dog and the arches really make you want to be there,.
The olive orchard looks well cared for, it adds beauty to the views.
There were some drone shots with a focus effect that make the castle looks cute as a miniature,.
To make it even more interesting, the archeological dig.

@@Lionard I loved the way it is, it’s beautiful and has a really high ceiling, is there a fireplace in it? I think it must be cool in summer, but if it isn’t cold in winter, it would be a nice library/office, or some sort of living room, with book shelves, the armor can stay, and a chess set is a must, being there you would be conscious to castle.

THANK YOU Stephanie. As ever a most beautiful and historical set of buildings. The cost to maintain and run this place must be so expensive. However the income potential would also be "not too bad". The Italian Govt must be very cautious as to how this place is maintained/operated as it is of such historical heritage.23/09/2121

Just wonderful. Is there a water source other than the wells, such as piped in from a controlled and purified water plant (and if not, are the wells constant and sustained)? Electricity is public utility? Is the olive grove maintained by the owner or is it leased/lent to an outside business? And of course, what type of price are they asking? Thank you.
