    It was a very smart and conscious move to have this episode/scene near the end of the first season. This is really the first time that we like Aaron along with the heartfelt conversation he has with Veronica about how she and Logan are good for one another. It makes us for a split second forget that Aaron is a an adulterer that drove his wife to suicide who also neglects and beats his own son. The fact that he was revealed as the killer shortly after this is both shocking because it seemed like he was just redeemed as a character but it also makes sense because of all the horrible things he has done leading up to that moment. That's just fantastic writing.

      I always thought that S1 mystery was just the best. There were some good ones in S2 and 3 but the Aaron Echolls case was nothing short of perfection. Too bad S4 mystery was so badly written.

    The ONLY scene where Aaron Echolls was actually likable. Can never get tired of watching it.

    When Logan came in and Aaron said "Oh, hey son. How was school?" I probably laughed harder than I should have the first time I watched this.

    I like how calmly he asks his son "How was school?" while Logan (and Veronica and Trina) are standing there horrified...

    Interesting that the man who killed a teenage girl would get so angry at another man hitting his daugter. :P

      Don't forget he abused Logan as well. He believes that he was better than his father because he did not beat Lynn, Trina or his first wife. But he was a serial cheater and that certainly hurt Lynn among other things he did.

      @@she_came_down_in_a_bubble_6160 I agree. Notice how it's not about hitting women, it's about hitting "his daughter". He was sociopathic for sure, and narcissism is one of the traits.

    It's interesting that Aaron become his father and does the exact same thing to Logan and Lynn. They definitely had a messed up family situation, when that kind of behavior was treated as normal.

    • @melindoranightsilver9298
      @melindoranightsilver9298 5 лет назад +10

      He only hit Logan. He never touched Lynn or Trina. He cheated on Lynn constantly and may have yelled at her towards the end but he did not lay a hand on her. Trina never believed Logan when he aaid Aaron was abusing him. I think after this her eyes may have opened up a bit but because of the way she acted you did not always know for sure whether she brushed it off as a dad protecting his daughter or if her eyes opened like, ok maybe logan was tellinh the truth.

    This is so tragic and disturbing... and yet at the same time his absolute best moment as a father. What exactly does that say about him? I'm not really sure...

      It means aaron aside from being a violent sociopath (or phycopath) you dont mess with family, bc im not a sociopath but if I have a daughter and a guy hits her im doin the exact same thing, or worse

    He likes to be in control. That's the only differance. Hes mad because someone beat up Trina, and she probably reminds her of his mother, and most importantly, he did not give him permission. But when its Logal and Lilly he is in control.

    Not gonna lie, after re-watching this scene. The song kind of kills it for me. It just breaks the mood and doesnt really connect well will it. Its the only thing weighing it down for me, the scene is still kick ass though dont get me wrong. The song choice could have been better, thats all!
