Too many amazing photos to comment on, all relevant and insightful, as well as perhaps forgotten, deserving of being appreciated again. I learned a lot, thanks!
The women shooting wearing Whites.. They were most probably nurses... The guy in the croc tank..note they have had teeth pulled.. Snapping jaws shut would hurt but not near as much unless they got dentures..I never knew the Titanic iceburg had been photographed, it makes not keeping track of it even more criminal. Libraries are missed, when you can't afford e-readers.
I really enjoyed all the photos and the history that went with them. The only thing I really didn't like at all was the transition between photos. The buzzing noise and out of focus visual was beginning to give me a headache.
In the suburbs of East London UK an ancient law makes it criminal to harm the free roving of cattle. The area is very densely populated, and very busy at rush hour (or was pre COVID). It was funny to watch cars and buses in gridlock as they waited for grazing cows mostly eating grass in the middle of a large crucial roundabout to move on. The animals were fearless leaving motorists to wait until they were done, and they often took their time. The contrast of a busy city scene waiting for humble animals was unforgettable. I wonder if there's any footage. I'll research; but this was back in the 1990s - pre mobile/cell phones, pre ubiquitous home computers, and most people didn't cary cameras. Even CCTV was a new and little used technology.
In the 70s, 80s, 90s and onwards, I carried a camera everywhere! There were mobile phones in the 90s, too. I had one. Home computers existed in the 80s; I used to play Space Invaders on my friend's computer in 1981. It wasn't the dark ages 😅
4:19 Seeing Patten’s dog definitely mourning for his master makes you realise that animals have feelings too! 😢. What a good idea! 5:57. Get female prisoners to learn shooting!! 😮
18:16 i was 8 months pregnant when the news showed showed them breaking down he wall. To think in 1980 my mom took a picture of the wall when we lived in germany with the air force. She and some other wives from the base took a weekend trip
We...better said, I, used to make my 'silver' coins ultra shinny with mercury. Both parents smoked Camels, unfiltered. We had a 'burn barrel' in the backyard. I would pretend to smoke my candy cigarettes before eating them. But never smoked in life. It was LEADED gasoline. Close to half our dinners were FRIED. Parents smoked in the Dr's waiting room. We dressed for church. Our best. The principal walked around the school yard during lunch. Splitting apples with his bare hands, with a cigarette between his lips. My teacher, in elementary school, fainted when another teacher came to our room. Having informed her that JFK had just been assassinated in Dallas. The first time I saw a cow was when one was brought to my school. And 'styled' in a barnyard with a bale of hay, minimal fencing, a three-legged stool and a metal bucket. I was selected to milk 'Grace'. ...a fraction of the list.
Joe DiMaggio was definitely NOT a happy chappy after that scene with Marilyn's, "... silly little dress", as it was dubbed by its' designer, William Travilla.
He wasn’t saluting his father he was saluting the American flag! No you are wrong. Ask the Kennedy family. He was saluting the flag. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis mentioned that in an. Interview that he was saluting the flag. It’s the media that tried to say he was saluting his father. It was not.
Sorry but those shredded pants look like they would fit a giant, the man holding them could fit his whole body in them and tighten the belt around his head. not thinking Hitler was that big.
ENIAC was not the first computer. Colossus was shown to have that honour, but the truth only came to light 30 tears after the end of WWII due to security requirements.
the last one is an example of the ridiculous macho image men tried to convince other men they were back in those days and even today . men telling others tall tales about how they defeated multiple armed attackers at the same time . i know a 73 year old guy that will tell these type of combat stories to anyone gullible enough to sit and listen to him .
@@cheriem432 @mrearly2 has a bee in his bonnet! Just because Pope John Paul II, Karol Józef Wojtyła, was Polish, it didn't make him any less of a good man - and a Pope!
Very well put together and a pleasure to watch and listen to.
I love how you explain what the photos are.
I love old pictures.
@17:41 - The iceberg did *not* "collide with the Titanic". The Titanic collided with the iceberg. It makes a difference.
... and hit the ice that was hidden and spread out underwater.
I love Julia Childs. Great cook!!!!❤
But all those assistants behind her were fart-level high. 😉
I love this channel! Really interesting and varied content with great narration! Thanks.
Thank you for putting this video together. Remembering the past may help us become better humans today. Regrads
Wow thanx for sharing!

And I thought it was just me. Are you prone to migraines, by any chance?
@@cheriem432 actually no, but I am on the spectrum and some visual and audio things really bother me.
I almost stopped watching because of that noise. Totally unnecessary.

It’s the ice underneath the water that sunk the titanic.
@13:29 - It's interesting that they used *African* elephants for disguise in *India*. Am I the only one who noticed?

Those women aren't prisoners.
They're obviously nurses, staff who work at the prison most probably.
Love the photos, would been nice to be able to view horizontally (unless it's just my phone).
Turn your phone sideways.
Helen Keller was not only blind and deaf, she was also mute.
Wow, I'm not sure that Marcia's photo impresses me, lol, but she lived a long life and died in June 2009 at 82. She would have been 83 in December.
Bless stubby!
Please get rid of that annoying sound between photos. I couldn't watch.😢😢😢😢
I learned how to cook on a wood stove. I miss my aunts stove.
Awesome weren't/aren't they! Great for winter, too. People think we are SO advanced; we are going backwards in many ways.
The first Computer was british it was called Tall Boy . Alan Turin built it at Bletchley House.

I believe the walkway cars are still there. I know the tracks are still there
Destroyed libraries is the worst
Absolutely devastating! 😮💨
I wish you would not cut off the stories so soon

Would be a cool video if you didnt put that loud and annoying sound in every transition. Couldnt make it through the whole thing.

Well thats not a laptop computer!
Unless you are Atlas! 😊
While enjoyable,
While it is well done and includes some photos, most are on every other sight, so it is not likely to change anyone's perspective.
the wood stove one definitely doesnt impress me.... ive had one in one of my places
The Michelin Man's official name was "Bibendum."
Escobar was visiting bush.
Those were *not* Hitler’s pants ! Goering maybe !
Like the Photo but upset that you ask för money all the time . That distroy the fotod

Hitler´s pants? He was no giant! Have never seen a photo of him laughing, though. Or of Trump laughing.

There was no "Pope John Paul II", but there was anti-Pope Karl Wojtyla, posing as Pope.
Prove this.
His name was not Karl! It was Karol. Karol Józef Wojtyła.
